The whole '5 car' ideal is something that isn't a great addition but I do like it from the angle of each car feeling unique to you and each car you have is one you want to own.

5 is a bit light of course, we should be able to expand our garage.

Now that I've spent a lot of time with the game, the garage limit isn't as much of a problem as I thought it was going to be. I've found four cars that I like most and I keep one slot open to try out cars I haven't used yet. It's been working well for me.

I do agree though that more slots should be added, especially if we get DLC later.

I still remember the days when we only had one car slot...

Speaking of which, they really need to bring back the My Cars feature in the future. We haven't seen it since Undercover.

I personally love this game. It has its flaws sure... Random turning because the game itself sort of decides whats a drift and a normal turn, lack of traffic, cheesy story, very easy to outrun cops, etc. But Im still loving the game. Modding and drifting around turns are so much fun, and I must say the graphics are damn good.

I started with the fox body and sold it after it a bit for an E46 M3 which I painted Phoenix yellow, and then I bought an NSX. After that I bought the 73 Carrera but I havent messed with it really. I came from Gran turismo and recently bought P cars only to realize with age, I dont care for physics that much in video games. I Have enough stuff on my plate in real life, so when I play a game I just want to have fun, and luckily this game delivers and manages to bring actual differences in handling customizations and tuning. a solid 8/10

Hahaha, I just did the Shiroi Kabocha drift with a friend online and he was driving a 180sx, I was in an Aventador, and Manu was in whatever he had.. I think got extremely frustrated that I kept winning.

Add me to the list of people that are stuck on the component parts race. You would think that an 800hp E46 would stand a chance against an old Nissan, but I guess not. I tried digging through this thread to see what cars other people used, but I might have missed it.

I'm about $10k away from having enough money for the F40. I'm sure I'll need a supercar later in the game, but will one honestly help with this mission? I'm open to any suggestions.

Either go for the Huracan which is a killer in corners when its handling its not touched or Aventador.

Component Parts is an absolute joke. I don't know how many times I've tried it now. I get an absolutely perfect run through the first, probably, 15 checkpoints, yet all of the other cars speed past me. This rubber band stuff is such crap. I'm now using the McLaren 570S and it's still ridiculous.

I have a video of me doing the Component Parts race in a GT-R. I'll post it.

Edit: Try the Aventador. You should beat it easily then.

I won it in a high-700's horsepower F40. The trick seems to be using the rubber banding to your advantage, and hanging in 3rd until about a mile and a half to go. That, or block like crazy.

Also, 15lb action-based NOS. a must.
I used an Evo MR, it produced around 850+BHP when I first won the race. It takes one of the turns on at 210+ MPH. It's an absolute beast. I also use Extreme Drift tyres on it. If anyone wants the setup, ask me and I'll post a picture.

Just don't take the last corner too fast. I drifted round it, and ended up on the wrong road. Not fun.

EDIT: I agree with the rubberbanding, it gets ridiculous at times.

I figured the component race would be a nightmare from what I've read everyone saying. I managed it in a 700hp civic. Got lucky and she smashed into a car and sent her into a exit ramp going the wrong way. Never saw her again.

Only race I remember giving me trouble was the ken block race.

Speaking of lucky. Anyone get into a race and the ai doesn't load. Lol makes for a easy win! Lol :P

I got something similar going on in a previous race. When the race start, there was no other opponents on the road even though there's supposed to be 7. It was only near the end of the race when Amy and the rest of the opponents showed up

Use the 277 from Magnus Walker because after many fail attempts in my NSX so then when I got into the 277, I manage to do it first time.

Currently something that has been bothering me is the Level 50 cap because if the cap was removed then it kinda gives you more of an urge to play it even more to get to a higher rank.

I had that in a magnus race, he didn't load haha it was good cause it was giving me the poops before

I'm happy that I had a decent amount of time with the game over the weekend. I'm almost at 50% I think. A couple questions for those that are finished/nearly finished with the game:

1) Are the Xcess drift tires better for drifting events or am I crazy? I still use my RX-7 for my drift events, got a >200K drift run early on and just kept upgrading her. But every time I put the 'best' drift tires on, the car gets crazy with oversteer and I slam head-first into walls. The same with the NSX I had.

2) Would my >1K HP GT-R be enough to win that Components Race? Is that the last race, basically?

3) Anyone else get kicked to the main menu after about 10-15min? Recently, it just does it once and then I can play for a few hours straight.

4) What is the limit of cars we can have in our garage, 5?

Thanks!

Jerome

1) I didn't do enough testing with the tires to know for sure what they do. Seem to be more prone to oversteer, yeah, though it also seems like you can keep your speed up more while drifting. So they're probably more useful for the Drift Train events.

2) It should be enough, yes. It's not the last race, but it's definitely the hardest, so you're over the hill after it.

3) I had my first disconnect yesterday, so not the same experience at all there.

4) Yep, 5 is it. Don't buy all five until you're done the Build and Speed storylines though, since you need specific cars for both of those. Also, I know there's a 250hp challenge at some point in Speed, but there's also a 200hp one in the Outlaw strand. So keep that in mind if you're planning on completing the game. I just detuned my NA for both.

1) Personally, I don't really know. Maybe the difference is quite subtle, or I didn't notice it flat out. I've always tinkered more with fine-tuning.
2) That race is hell, but your GT-R should do just fine (after all it got me through the last stretch of the game when I first bought it!), although I'd choose either the Huracán (preferably with the GT3 body kit, because it gives obscene amounts of grip) or the Aventador (the overall fastest car in the game both stock and fully tuned).
3) I've almost never encountered such problems, maybe because I have an optical fiber Internet connection... I don't know.
4) Yes, you can only own 5 cars at a time.

P.S.: Oh, I've also noted that the PS4 version is optimized for PS Vita Remote Play. I've tried it out today, and the game has a full alternate set of controls for the PS Vita, in a similar fashion to Driveclub (even though you can't customize the controls).
