So, do we have a date for the demo yet?

I expect this game to be similar to Grid, which to me is a good thing.

it shouldn't handle anything like grid at full sim settings... unless the developers and people being interviewed are completely lying.

Hmmm... i kind of see a similarity with TOCA 3 physics looking at the new preview vid, which isnt bad at all really. I guess we need the demo to make a final judgement. When is it coming anyway?

Thanks Montag.

I can understand that german guy, but these dudes, no clue (guess it is Finnish :scared:), but some nice footage from Brands Hatch Indy in between the talking ;)

Plus another vid here ;)

Starting at 2:22 but the most interesting is between 2:40 and 3:30

@ Markao

I'm pretty sure the track on the three first pics is Donington Park... which is not on the tracks' list ! :scared:
After that and the Aston Martins, I seriously believe EA and SMS are keeping surprises. Or they have already-planned DLC's.

Did you all see LHD GT-R? Nice work! Both sides!:sly:
You can clearly see moving his left thumb on analog trigger of x360 controller. It smooth. Oh and meters on dash board are on the right position so proof of LHD GT-R.

Yeah pretty sure it is an EA version (including grandstands in the pits street :scared:) of Donington Park. In the clip of the Finish dudes they use the Indy layout of Brands and that's not on the 18 tracks list either. Someone at EA should do a TURN 10 and start counting all the different layouts to pump up the track number :)

A while back Berca sad that they had time enough to add things, let's hope he was talking about a few extra tracks/cars. It would be silly to show of your game before it is released, with tracks that are planned for later DLC 👎

@ Tomaz, nice catch......wondering if they are doing that with all cars.

Yep, in fact the game will feature 18 tracks with 50 overall different layouts ;)

Yup, that's finnish. They are saying something like how the NFS series has been going worse and worse, but this one seems better and that it has more of a simulation view than previous games. Through the whole vid they comment Shift in a positive way. Also they mention that the version they are playing is really early version.

Getting on the site, it seems a lot like GRiD. However there was something about a drift mode, and it had a pic of Vaughn Gitten's 2010 Falken Mustang, and I have to say, I got just a wee bit excited.

"Initially the plan was for Vaughn to play the game a few times and give some feedback but he ended up spending more than 100 hours with the team to make sure the Drift experience was as close to real-life as possible."

Unlike GRID, in SHIFT you'll start off with stock production cars (well other than the fact that the physics will be better on SHIFT) whereas in GRID it's racing rig from the get go. GRID also lacks the ability to upgrade and add parts (and lose for weight reduction). Not to mention that you can tune your car in SHIFT and not in GRID. I'm pretty sure there's alot more not to mention that you do get more cars in SHIFT- I'm quite sure it's more than double the amount- with a more varied selection compared to the more limited selection in GRID.

Thanks for the help with the translation 👍

Had some scary fast Finnish guys racing in a league I was part of over the years, so I thought it looked/sounded some what familiar ;)

Anyone know if 900 degree wheel rotation is being animated? So far I'm only seeing about 180 or so.
Doubt it as it would have been shown/mentioned somewhere by now. ;)

No problem, this forum helps in so many ways, all the info on games etc. so it's nice that I can be useful at least in some way :)

Heh, nice recognizing on the language!

No Pontiac GTO/Vauxhall VXR8/Holden Monaro?

And is it just me or does the inclusion of the 1971 Skyline seem a little incongrous?

I love that the cars come stock and you can tune them up to your own race car.
If the physics are right, the game could be really cool.
