OK... need some clarifications:

1) There's no chance at all to configure button controls?

No, not with a wheel.

2) I've understand that you can turn off HUD. Will turn off all those crappy badges, point bars on top, etc. (in sum... all those arcadish nonsense), from popping off while driving?

Yes, you can turn the HUD off completely.

3) Are the races ridiculous short as in GT5:P (max. 5 laps), or are there more endurance races?

Most races are quite short, but there are some 'endurance' races which I haven't tried yet.

5) Oversteering - last comments on that have "scared" me and can be a turn off on buying this: Are all cars really oversteering or not?

Yes a lot of cars oversteer but it's very fun and quite easy to control.

6) Complete damage mode - does it affect car handking or is just rubbish?

As far as I can tell it's only cosmetic.

Thanks in advance

Answered the ones I know.

There is visual and mechanical damage. Mechanical damage affects engine and steering. Wheel can be shaky after some hit or pull you in left or right side.

Sorry for bad english

It does? After crashing my car endlessly (trying to total it), I didn't feel a thing.

Im racing on Pro with full damage (all aids off except ABS) - medium/hard level. Check your options because i noticed that, when i setuped up everything on test lap game didnt saved some settings.

Im using G25 (PS3), and after some hits it is hard to stay straight. You need to fight a little with wheel and car :D

i got the voucher for the M3 from gamestop, and went through the process.

I redeemed the code, then it says to go to "quick race car select menu", i can't find this menu. I went to quick race, for the car options my choices where the same class or the same car. I could not find the option for "reward cars"

can anyone help?

If you select a Quick Race, when you're in the car selection menu, I think it's R1 to cycle through the lists of "My Cars", "Reward Cars", "Guest Cars". I'm assuming cars redeemed through codes will show up in "Reward Cars".

It's not very obvious.

Thats funny... when I unlocked the M3 GTR with the code I got all it said was I unlocked the "HERO" car??? And that its available to win now?? I have not tried a quick race yet so I dont know if it is there?? I will have a look tonight...

To anyone who bought the Special Edition with the unlockable M3 GT2, do you need to have your PS3 online to unlock it?

My PS3 isn't online :( so if I need a connection to unlock the car I might as well not bother getting the Special Edition.

Just got the game a few hours ago and I am very impressed! The game is fantastic and extremely challenging IMO. A lot harder than GT5P and a lot more enjoyable. Got around 35 stars at the moment and currently sitting at around mid level 4 I think. Really love the fact how you can upgrade your major badges.... sitting on a gold already for one. :D

Nice one 👍 I hope we can all meet online as well, as soon as people have some cars in the stable of course.. :D

Yeah I know what you mean, I currently have only a 135i in my garage at the moment. Will be online when I get a few more cars and happy with my driving, I'm all over the place right now!

I was like that as well the first tier of racing I did... but im slowly learning the limits of the car im driving and the limit of the physics to whats possible.. and the more I play the better it gets... The physics model is really well executed... 👍 to Slightly Mad Studios :D

Wow. I just drove a couple of laps around Nordschleife in my little MX-5, and gained about 5 levels after the race. A very good way for earning 1000's of precision points in one stint. 👍

Great game!

what's the deal with the clutch? i enabled it yet i dont need to press it to change gear......however if i do press it i can rev the car freely

I received two BMW M3-codes... accidentally I think.

Those who dont have it, and wanted to get one... propose some good competition idea, and winner can have it by PM!

I dont want this thread to get filled by suggestions, so send your competition-idea by pm to me, and I pick one good and create new thread after that.

Im going to try that too... heard that from a lot of people... I've been grinding in the tiers and im only at level 11 right now...

There's a 5 digit code on the back of the manual (UK version) to register the game with EA. Anybody done that yet? Do you get anything for it that's worth the effort?

A couple of my 'first car' pictures from photomode: 👍

It seems like there's a slight penalty for not pushing it in, but not near as severe as it should be.

Hey Guys,

just got the game for the PS3 and it wont work with the G25...do i have to activate it somewhere? I cant see any Wheeloptions, only the Gamepad-Stuff. Is this a common bug in some Racers or something? In Midnight Club LA i had the same problem, which was not an issue because i rather play Arcade-Racer with an Pad.

I couldn't agree more--that's exactly how I feel.

It's funny, I played Shift and SCC back to back last night. You really need to adjust your driving style when you go from one to the other. They both have a very unique feel and offer excellent physics and handling models. But they go about it in very different ways. And when you're used to one, you need to be able to adapt and focus to play the other. 48 hours ago, I was setting top times in the SCC Leaderboard and after playing Shift for a few hours and slowly coming to grips with it's handling model, I went back to SCC and for the first 2 minutes I couldn't even keep the car on the road. :dunce:

I think in a few weeks I'm going to set up a little competition for those who have both games:

1. SCC: 5 Laps of Spa in the 1964 Ferrari 250LM, No assists.

-- immediately followed by --

2. Shift: 5 Laps of Spa in the Maserati MC12, No assists.

-- immediatley followed by --

3. SCC: 5 Laps of Silverstone in the Ferrari 512S, No assists, in the rain

-- immediatley followed by --

4. Shift: 5 Laps of Silverstone in the 1972 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R

Good luck keeping it on the road.

Unplug everything... turn off the PS3... reconnect G25 and nothing else... turn on power ON CONSOLE... this way the PS3 registers the G25 as controller 1.... The game has trouble detecting steering wheels... this way it should work if Im not mistaken...

Now that sounds interesting... I'm in for that :)

I had the same problem--make sure the G25 is plugged into port 1, and when you start the game, use the buttons on the G25 Shifter and not the controller. If that doesn't work, do the same thing but make sure nothing else is plugged into port 2 on the PS3.

EDIT: Ooops. Beat me to it.

Just want to let people know that while there are only 18 tracks (actually 19 including Donnington) there are different configurations. Silverstone alone has 3 different config while there are races at Nordschleife that use only parts of the tracks (shoter 2-3 minutes race usually manufacturer's battle) as well as the whole track. As you moved into higher power race equipped cars, tuning becomes more critical.

I must be very stupid or just tired because of job... but I cant find where to set my 16-digit redeem code, that I could have my BMW M3 ???

I have already experienced a major problem. the Corvette Z06 will not leave off the line. it just inches, won't go. the race between the Z06 and the GT3 RS is VERY difficult will the Porsche.
