Anyone with a crew level 50 on xbox? Trying to get the FXX-K Evo.
Annoyingly, you'll need a Crew Leader for that and I found that difficult for the trophy. I just requested an invite for many crews and just waited for one to eventually let me join.
Would have been nice if you could choose whether members can invite people.

Running this on a gaming laptop as well. Have used gaming laptops for the past 4-5 years or so and I can say from experience that cooling varies a lot per laptop. Getting a decent cooling stand (won't break the bank, Google for best ones in terms of thermal performance) helps a lot.

Furthermore, Turbo settings generally make the CPU bounce up and down in terms of throttling and hitting the limit, which means that most of the times it's running lower than 100% on average, which kind of defeats the purpose. If the game is not CPU-bound (and most aren't) you can limit the CPU quite easily by setting max limit to 99% (instead of a 100%) in the energy profile settings. This effectively disables the Turbo. I have two profiles that I switch depending on the game I run, one with max CPU power and the other with limited. Keeps the laptop cool and the fans quiet.

But start with a decent laptop stand.

I used a laptop stand for many years now for gaming. Ever since my fat PS3 got YLOD I've been really proactive about cooling my gaming equipment. Still didn't help the performance for NFS 2015. I could go from a fresh boot to a race in 5 mins so temps are still barely above normal, and the map would still fail to load. Granted I only have a normal HDD and not SSD so I don't expect super fast loading times, but you would expect the devs to account for this and optimise the map accordingly.

Yup, swapping engines does affect the handling. Haven't tried any of the Porsche engines in my cars, but from what I've been seeing it seems like a really solid option, if not the best. What I got for my 180SX instead was the R35 engine, and it's amazing. Insane acceleration plus the right amount of slip just to micro drift around corners. Personally I'm gonna keep it that way.

I chose the Porsche engine because it has the highest potential HP out of all of them (1017). It's annoying how the engine swap as stock isn't directly comparable to each other due to the various parts already equipped. We're also missing vital stats like power & torque curve and how it affects weight in the spec screen. Yes it's NFS and it's arcade, but the fact that it affects handling means they DO code for subtle differences between engines than just top speed/horsepower. Currently there's no way to know this without blowing millions testing out all the options.

After driving it for some time, the flat 6 does feel a bit too OP for the poor 180SX' chassis  And this is only with elite parts. I can't imagine how much faster ultimate parts are  I think the sweet spot for handling is around 350 PR. Anything above that sure is fast, but the handling becomes crazy unrealistic and unpredictable for the kind of tight roads in Palm City. I also think we should have elite suspension and differential parts, to give just that little bit of extra grip to cope with the fastest cars.

As a crew leader you can already give recruiting power to your members. At least in my crew there are two members who can invite and accept others.
My advice for those who want to join a lv50 crew would be to just search for FXXK or FXX-K. There's quite a few of them.

That's where default for the car downforce kicks in. You will notice that most of old and roadgoing cars are terrible at high speed even with live tuning fully into maximum downforce, when top cars still smoothly turn and hold insane amount of speed into corners.

I agree, the power and torque curves should be visible, especially since we have different forced induction upgrades to choose from. Moving on to that, you would only be able to achieve that 1017 horsepower with the Porsche engine if you used the Ultimate Single Turbo. Single turbos in this game are very peaky, which makes them not as reliable as one would initially think. The meta is Dual Turbos, because when your car upshifts it hits that sweet spot on the powerband where the Dual Turbos kick in, so you get that extra boost immediately. I only found a few instances where a Single Turbo is a viable option, like the Alfa V6 engine swap on the 240Z.

Try using Super Track suspension and Elite Race tires. As for diff, play around between the Race, Track and On-Road options. Also, with your car being at 350 PR, I recommend increasing the downforce.

This is 🤬 unbelievable!! I lost 3 times 2x Ultimate parts because of traffic!! The damage from a simple touch at hight speed is ridiculous...
I'm about to break my controller....

That moment when you about to finish first in 5 heat race, in pursuit, you see that another player and his full grid turning to your straight and message rhino incoming appears, and dispatcher says that they placed a roadblock ahead.:nervous:

There is a bit of a problem with the amount of traffic vehicles at night, feels like there's too many out proportionate for what there should be at what can be assumed to be one or two in the morning.

But, saying

Don't crash into traffic then...

is truly kind of reductive and a dick move.

While we can argue about the (poor) delivery of the message, there's really not that many Level 5 heat races, so after grinding a bit you should know the lines and also where traffic is likely to pop up (yes, there are patterns). There are a couple of basic rules around passing traffic and/or entering blind corners. Slowing down is also a thing, as is car choice. After grinding 90 million rep I can dream most of these races and drive most of them flat-out. Also, if you really, really need the parts, play solo so you don't get unexpected surprises.

The cops are absolutely 🤬 ridiculous in this game. I honestley question how it can be fun for anybody. My car is 256 and i know how to drive. Been playing these games longer than some of you have been alive probably. Can't even loose them at level 2 unless i am lucky enough to come accross a jump accross water. I am not against the cops generally, although it has been my least enjoyed thing about nfs since they brought them in. This is crazy though. It's like a "how long can you survive" not a "cat and mouse" style. There is no point in trying to out drive them they know where your going before you do somehow.....

Other than that lol

I got the game as a gift for xmas, and I am actually really enjoying this game. Other than the occasional time that i cant get away with my one or two quick races at night. I enjoy the driving in this game waaaaaay more than payback, of which i played heavily. The cars feel significantly better, very very rare that it does something that has me scratching my head. My e30 is a pleasure to drive, and my s15 is pretty easy to go slidways and still feel like i am in control. Happy to have a solid NFS game back in my life, it feels good.....

All I can say is thank god that NFS heat has done away with a lot of the pursuit tech crap that plagued nfs since 2010.

I got no problem with emps or spike strips being used by cops but when its racers using it turns the game into mario kart.

Shockwave seriously??? I hope these things dont come back. It makes me happy that NFS heat has brought the classic hot pursuit chases back. Kill switch jammers is the only tech that racers should use nothing more.

Get the Testarossa, countach, diablo sv or even the LaFerrari and you will see what I mean.

Quick questions about crew level 50 to get the Ferrari FXX-K Evo. My Rep level is 50 but my crew level is only 3. Is the best way to boost your crew level by doing many nighttime races, like the heat level 3 and heat level 5 races? Or just any nighttime races?

My loop for a single night: Run the events with the highest Rep rewards (maybe not the full Discovery race since it takes a long time). Do the high heat events whenever your heat level allows. After the level 5 event, keep running events until you're out of repair kits. Then bank.

Rinse and repeat ad nauseum. ;) I only run sprint races by the way, easier to evade the cops since you don't stay in the same area all the time.

Alongside putting the difficulty at Easy to make the races less of a headache, do the night grind offline so that cops made by other players don't persist.

And pausing, yeah that too, super nice to be able to plan your route to dodge them coppers.

I had a somewhat more realistic idea of what content could come as DLC:

-Various Toyota and Lexus models seen in prior NFS games, with the Supra Mk.IV, 86, and Sprinter Trueno being the most likely since they were in NFS 2015. I'd imagine it'd be easiest to get those particular models (and parts) updated for Heat if they returned.

-Models seen in NFS Rivals, but not 2015, Payback, or Heat. I mostly say this because Rivals was developed by Ghost. I recall that the McLaren F1 LM and the Bentley Continental were some examples of cars only seen in Rivals, when it comes to the four games from Ghost.

-Speaking of which, the Beck Kustoms F132 and the 1932 Ford are the only models that were in 2015 and Payback, but not in Heat. Interestingly, I did also recall that these were only added via updates for 2015.

-Speedcross and drag events. There are parts in Heat that namedrop both modes. The former was DLC in Payback, while the latter was added in an update for NFS 2015. Maybe they'll come via an update or two for Heat.

Otherwise, has there been any news on what could be coming next?

Personally, I'd love a pack that includes police cars and parts to turn some particular cars into police cars. So this could include the Ford Crown Victoria, but also parts for cars that've been police cars in prior NFS installments, like the Nissan GT-R police cars in Undercover and HP2010, or the Corvette C6 in MW2005/Carbon and the C7 in Payback/Heat. There could even be pre-made wraps that replicate the various police liveries seen in past NFS games for a given car. (And I'd honestly love more pre-made wraps in general, especially those that use designs from prior games.) I really liked the variety of police liveries in HP2010, too.

Cars from Rivals and MW12 have a very feasible chance for returning. Easier to recycle assets from them. Shift and The Run are still on the table as well but everything older is a shot in the dark.

Shift and most wanted 2012 use different engines. Nfs run uses a frostbite different to nfs heat.

Not to mention I highly doubt Ghost Games will able to reuse assests from those games.

Nfs rivals could be possible but cars that have been reused all come from 2015 and payback apart from toyotas and the 2 hotrods.

They already do so. World assets, vehicle designs, vehicle meshes, performance data, etc. from previous games still exist in Heat. Game engines don't really care where you get your textures and models from, and the vehicle physics are a direct copypasta of MW12 (with some questionable additions). Obviously, older assets will need to be updated and prettied up to meet current standards, but they still have some source material to work off of instead of creating new cars from scratch.

Of course this is no guarantee of anything but this is what recent trends in Ghost's games have suggested.

Never knew this because Ghost Games only made Rivals, 2015 and Payback which suggested to me they would only use assets from these games rather than from sms, criterion or blackbox.

About NFS Heat I just bought the FXX K Evo!!! What a beast and especially the sound is orgasmic!!

How the hell did Ferrari allow the FXXK evo to be chased by cops did EA and ghost games use some sort of trick to make Ferrari accept this??

Cops dont even say FXX K they say suspect is driving a Ferrari racecar LOL

Not true, actually. MW2012 used Criteron's Chameleon Engine, which is going to be completely different from Frostbite in terms of vehicle physics. Plus, the devs have stated that Heat uses a different handling model compared to previous titles.

Honestly, they aren't even the same in how they feel to drive. You can see a major difference in vehicle behavior right away by playing both games. The only thing they have in common is that there's A) a focus on drifting, and B) they're both very easy to get the hang of.

I'm not sure if it's paid content or live service style free content like abandoned cars in Payback, but Crown Vic and Mercer's Explorer Interceptor will probably be added.
Crown Vic is available on Payback and Explorer is used in Crazy Cowboy event banners. (Of course, this image is just a placeholder, and they may not plan to add this car to the game)
