Japanese players? Playing NFS? This is news to me. I thought the NFS Community is mostly Europeans (especially Spanish and Germans), Americans and Latinos. Didn't expect any Asians in it, no racist remarks intended.

It sounds like it's just a race to complete challenges. Would have been nice if it was actually racing competition.

actually there is a very large community of asian players that play all need for speed titles especially the newere versions like HP NFS world exct I have freinds that live in japan Guam and philipenes

Never count the Asians out, man. After all, I'm one of them.

But yeah, every forum seems to be a bit slow regarding this game, mind if I hang here for a while?

You have Burning Rubber to go to, guy... or had rather.
Never really frequented that board.

In other news though, the total confirmed cars in the game is now 46 with 4 speculated ones. Just a few more cars and the list will be complete. Makes me a bit sad.

I'm Asian (not the kind that knows how to do math lol) and I've been with the series since TNFSSE.

Quite late to the party, but I'm ever so tempted to pre-order this game. The appeal for me is not the revival of the Most Wanted name, but more of the Burnout Paradise-ness of it. As I'm sure many people have pointed out now, but something about the open world, smashing cars, doing stunts, brings back the days of Burnout Paradise (Beat it all 101%!) Always toyed with the idea of playing a game like Burnout Paradise with real licensed cars and here we are with the 2012 Most Wanted. Sure it might not have the charm of the original with the cheesy cutscenes and amount of modifications. But I just want to get a renewed feel for Burnout Paradise. (Shame on me if it turns out to feel plenty different)

So...I'm sure many people have asked this question, but is it worth pre-ordering this game? For the sake of playing something that at least seems similar to Burnout Paradise? My only concern is playing it with the TVs at my house. All are old SD televisions...and considering this age of new games, I have a bad feeling it'll be like NFS:HP 2010 (which my brother bought), almost impossible to see anything from far distance without HD. Burnout Paradise at least got an update to support standard definition users, but I'm not too sure about Most Wanted. That's what worries me about buying it, since we have the ONLY HD Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2010 which is nearly impossible to play on our SD TVs. And yes, we still haven't upgraded.... (Hoping to pre-order sometime this week)

The damage modelling looks to be VERY impressive. That GT-R's front wing was just disintegrated. :D

The GT-R is so sweet in this scene

A LHD egoist?

I'm sure Crit means US-spec Black Edition (or EU?) and it's a '11 onwards GTR regardless. Also like the non-urban environment and the wide highway reminds me of the northern parts of the old MW's map.

So the Delta is now the slowest non-SUV car, maybe it's the starter?

Addition of GC SRT-8 and Panamera Turbo S is cool, but there still seems to be a general lack of sedans and SUVs to consider them a whole separate class. Then again, it's sorta expected with 50-ish cars.

To avoid getting overhyped, that trailer didn't really tell us anything new other than the fact that the graphics look pretty close to that if not exact.

Well, we did get a look at some new areas, that's a plus. *shrug*

But yeah, graphics were a mix of in game footage and CG for the more cinematic stuff.. It's gonna look good but they're still using the PC version for hype videos.

Yes but I was already excited for this game, that video just made me be 100% sure to get the game plus I found this in NFS website: "A close-up of the car reveals the extent of the damage. As the chase progresses, your car picks up dirt and battle scars. Damage will eventually impact the handling of the car. We don’t recommend shooting through a roadblock or spike strip and then trying to lose the cops on rims, sparks flying, but sometimes that’s what it takes."

Damage will eventually impact the handling of a car...

Just like PS1 NFS... or GT2. I like where this is going. This is only until Pursuit is over though, correct? Or else how would we repair the car?

Looks good, though I still wish they had speed breakers. Miss that... Used to just slam through roadblocks using speed breaker.

Speedbreaker was some fantasy physics-bending horsepoop.

But that's what made it great, unrealistically overpowering when it comes to chases and sharp corners. :D Of course back in the day, there was some wall riding.

Oh how I loved wall riding.

I'm seriously tempted to preorder this though. Would be the first NFS I've ever preordered.

You know, it would've been awesome if they ended that trailer with the E46 M3 GTR instead of the R8. Would've been a great way to reveal the car while giving a nod to the first Most Wanted.

I've been wondering if we'd ever get damage that affects the car's performance back on the arcade side of NFS. High Stakes and Porsche Unleashed were the only ones to have this if I remember correctly.

As the trailer suggests, during pursuits we'll be forced to switch to another car after some time taking damage, which makes choosing your next car important. An Atom wouldn't last longer in a pursuit than say the Jeep SRT8.

And there aren't any pursuit breakers in this game either, right? I really like how everything's panning out.

So cliche....You can't always plaster everything MW with the M3...you just got to move on from that. Plus the M3 GTR isn't even the star car of this game.

Not necessarily. The trailer is only mixing in the switching car feature to give it more exposure. Once you discover more cars, you'll have less cars to switch to, and eventually won't be able to rely on a backup vehicle any longer. If you're always forced to switch cars, pursuits would have become that much more linear and boring. On top of which, who says you can't escape a pursuit in one ride?

I do hope Dizzee Rascal isn't on the soundtrack.

Other than BP, I played my own music in HP3 and cut out the race BGM in TR.

I only ever pre-ordered the Shift games, I don't know why. Possibly because I thought they looked better than Arcade NFS'.

Found more stuff new to the NFS Series, we all remember that we were chased by cops and SUVS in the original MW but now include SWAT too.
"This one's all about the intense action of a high-speed pursuit. It shows what can happen when a player takes on the best of Fairhaven City in a pursuit that escalates to include cop SUVs and SWAT trucks and take in some newly-revealed locations."
