Don't want to butt in here, which i'm obviously doing, but... aren't you saying the wrong things about this too now? You're comparing HP 2010 to NFS III: HP, but we can't compare Most Wanted to MW 2012? That's a little hypocrite, don't you think so?

Because HP 2010 was pretty much a direct sequel/remake to HP2. This isn't a direct sequel or remake.

The only thing I disliked about HP 2010 was the way the cars handle which makes them impossible to turn like terrible under steer. It drives nothing like HP2 and that was kinda disappointing, everything else was great (apart from the racers carrying weapons, being able to target people on your team and cut scenes every time you crash).

Wonder if I'm the only one who doesn't care how the boost system in this game works or if there isn't one in the game at all. If HP is anything to go by, Criterion is going to make this game amazingly fun and I'll enjoy it regardless. This most likely will be a day 1 purchase for me.

October 30th, here I come.

Half hour now

Coming up next on IGN.

Edit: Criterion did say it was alike Burnout so it's a burnout remake with cops...

Nothing really new from that interview, except that there will be an Ariel Atom in the game.

This game looks fun to me. Yes, while it really looks nothing like the original MW, I don't care. At least we still have the Cop Chases, which was my favorite part of MW, and one of the original highlights of it.

It looks like Burnout Paradis in a way, which I like. Paradise brought me tons of fun for months. It was a very fun game I like to play, and I still play it. That being said, I like what they are doing, and while some may hate, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

In conclusion, this game looks like a buy for me. 👍

I think the main reason people "hate" this game is because it's basically a Burnout game with cops shining in the light of the NFS name.. I'm sure if they've called it something like Burnout: Getaway (example) people would've been all over the place from happiness

^ You do have a point. It would also make sense due to the fact Criterion hasn't made in a full Burnout in.. forever.

Yes, it might be disappointing that it's under the NFS title, but I'm not one to hate. :)

Like I said earlier, Burnout and NFS are like banana and beef: both are good but most people don't like it mixed :ill: (not off topic)

Well, I gave it some thought and taking my previous statements back. They seem to have done a great job even without the destructible properties and speedbreaker. Never really cared for the story so won't comment on that. Multiplayer definitely looks like great fun as well.

Now, only the yet to be announced car list and footage of customization and upgrading that's keeping it off my buying list.

Nothing really new from that interview, except that there will be an Ariel Atom in the game.
Sweet!

Some of the cars I can make out are obviously the Porsche and Aston martin but I saw a STI hatch and what look to be the current boss 302 mustang ( my 2 personal favorit cars so count me in )

Small mention about customisation in there. Just about how you can add a lighter chassis for better speed and handling, or a strength upgrade so your car doesn't total so easily. Really liking this. :)

Also Criterion aren't into big flame vinyls.

This is the car list that I was able to gather from the trailers:
Aston Martin V12 Vantage
BMW M3 Coupé
Cadillac CTS-V
Chevrolet Cobalt
Chevrolet Corvette C6
Chevrolet Express
Dodge Caliber
Dodge Challenger SRT8
Dodge Charger SRT8
Dodge Grand Caravan
Dodge Viper SRT GTS
Ford Crown Victoria
Ford F-150 SVT Raptor
Ford Mustang Boss 302
Ford Police Interceptor Utility Vehicle
GMC Topkick C5500
Infiniti G35
Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4
Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale
Nissan Frontier
Nissan GT-R R35
Nissan Versa
Porsche 911 Carrera S
RAM 1500

P.S: Keep in mind that some of the cars in this list are traffic cars.

That's a real bummer. If that is the case I think I'll pass on this one. The game looks good and fun, but without customization a 'la Most Wanted (2005), I can't see it lasting long personally.

^ This game isn't going to live off customization, it's going to live off "freeburning" and challenges.

For those who watched the video:

Did you hear that? "ALL-NEW Handling model!"

No more "burnout/hp3 physics-like" comments anymore. Got it?

This game is basically Burnout With Real Cars... not the physics though.
Also, I have a hunch there won't be much to the body part customizing, let alone livery editing and tuning. I'm guessing it will be at most preset liveries like The Run and the obvious factory + funky colour choices.

Called both of those.

One funny thing I noticed is how the 991 has the standard 'Carrera S' wheels in the gameplay demos while the ones in the debut trailer, pre-order bonus and most screenies on the official web site have the optional 'Carrera Classic' wheels. (The former were in 'The Run', both are 20 inch diameter.)

Could this be one aspect of visual customisation?

I remember how the 1st bodykit for the RX8 in MW and Carbon was identical to the Mazdaspeed kit. Maybe Criterion could do it similar with 'real' kit designs, though if they bundle them with custom wheels like "The Run' I will be annoyed.

I would also expect at least a wide variety of paints (ala Paradise or the original MW) or a custom paint palette from the Carbon-onwards games (or pre-HP2 if you remember).

(Also makes me wonder about the 'heat' system, if any.)

The handling does look slightly different from '10's HP. Less drifty and a bit 'tighter' like '05's MW. (Remember how drifts in that game refilled the 'Speedbreaker' bullet time thingy?)

A simple way to see if it's different enough would be to attempt a standing 360 degree 'donut'. They were not 'proper' in Paradise and were impossible to perform in HP. (They were brilliant in MW and UG2.)

One other thing I loved about MW was the ability to upgrade and use your starter car all the way to the end-game. It was not realistic, but then neither was the tier systems in most of the games after that. (Prostreet's and Shift 2's seemed alright.)

Overall, it's basically Paradise 2 with AI cops and I don't think it's such a bad thing. Black Box really fumbled 'The Run' and both Shifts were shipped really premature. That said I will still wait for more information before judgement.

I just hope there will be more colour choices than BP as a lot of the colours didn't look good on a lot of the cars.

Also, because it's open world, I can't wait to go discover hiding spots and learning about glitches. I can't seem to get the idea of discovering a way to glitch the longest jump, finding some ramp to do a barrel roll or backflip out of my mind.

WIcken that image looks like a regular Sti to me because I have a freind that has one that looks just like that

The original Most Wanted never ''lived off'' (if I'm not missunderstanding your definition) customization, it was entirely optional. What's the problem with it, all of a sudden?

It's a real shame. The game looks and runs beautifully. The fun factor seems to be there. But I just can't consider this being Most Wanted anymore without it. I've waited way too many years only to get this kind of ''simplicity''. Damnit, Criterion.

:indiff:
