Yeah, the 991 from the 1st gameplay video had a more 'heavy' feeling and was less drifty than Criterion's previous productions. Dare I say, it reminds me greatly of MW2005. Dat engine note too! (Insert what's-his-name meme, 991 has a great looking arse as well.)
Considering the added 'precision' needed for jumps and quick 180s for evasion, the physics seems to be headed in the right direction.
My
Speculation time:
The current-gen CTS-V was recently released into NFS:World = We might have found a 'sedan' class contender!
The Panamera Turbo was also released into World, and with a different wheel design.
(19 inch 'Panamera Turbo' design while the HP2010 model had the 20 inch 'Turbo II' design.)
Criterion should go straight to the Turbo S though.
I doubt convertible variants of a coupe will be included. (E.g. LP650, Conti Supersports, Gallardo Spyder.)
However, the Ariel Atom was mentioned so maybe cars like the Boxster Spyder and the SLR Stirling Moss could be added as they are the most 'extreme' of their breed. (New Boxster came out recently too so I dunno.)
I wonder what the starter car would be considering the 6 classes of vehicles. (Sport, Track, Grand Touring, Muscle, Sedan and Utility.)
I also wonder if cars could overlap into other classes for events. (A C63 wagon could fit into multiple classes.
)
That could be done in Shift 2.
(Head explodes thinking of complexity of game balancing etc etc......)
One of the devs also mentioned around 50 cars would be present and that there woulld be no 'duplication'. (I assume he meant 4 variants of the Gallardo for example. I feel the Balboni is sufficiently different from the Superleggera though...)
Since traffic vehicles are licensed, why not make them drivable too.
I suppose we have to be patient and wait it out. The NFS website is totally different too and I cannot access the sites for previous games.
