need help GT World Championship

ah.... F1 car would be quite honestly boring. Its like I want a challenge but not one that just seems impossible you know?

yes, its very boring, but this race n the formula gt championship even gets the best of us. using a f1 ain't fair to the cpu, but the cpu is giving me a tough time n i got no problem driving any car but this cpu for this race n the formula race will tailgate whoever hard on every race of the championships n they rarely pit in. my point is using a F1 car just solve some of our problems.

How does the Chaparral 2J do in these races?

My problem is that I don't like to race super-beefed-up cars.. I prefer them stock. Methinks this is going to be a challenge, since even the fastest stock racers are only on-par with the computer cars. :)

Might as well quit the series before doing your first lap. :guilty: Its that tough...and I get mostly silvers on first try of all licenses.

Both Chaparral's get wasted, tuned or not. As for racing stock, you can win if your in one of the running cars like the C9.

I've tried the Audi race car and now the Minolta (sp); I'm still having a problem I can hold second. Then take leads on the long straight, that’s about it!

I think I'm done with the game, time to erase and start over again!
I'm a darn good racer but for some reason I'm having this problem.

Dang, I'm at 15.4%, and I'm in the Gran Turismo World Championship, I tried it out with my Cien and lost easily, so now I'm looking into buying a car that will easily eat the competition. I've got $800,000. Help?

800,000 thats not gonna cut it, i bought a 4 and a half million dallor car and is still getting mostly cilver and some gold and bronze, but a car thats that much youde expect it to blow them away, the c9 gives it a hard time. (the audi 8 or something like that i got)

I don't want to spend that much! Isn't there any other way?

i took a stock clk and won the tokyo race, best race i have ever had, i was awsome. i pitted on lap 7, i was about 2seconds ahead of evry one, they passed me, i came out with new front tires. they pitted on lap 9. they came out of the lane as soon an i was on the brakes lol. and it was neck and neck all the way home (0.8xx) pretty close for a 15min race. same with ss, i didnt pit, i had a 4th place car but passed every one on the third to last lap and no one caught up. then i quit the whole race cuase it was holeless :dunce:

What's the easiest way to get to 25%? I'm at 15%, and done all of Beginner/Proffesional. Should I do as many American, European Events that I can?

as far as the GT world champ series...i was going to ask for help on this too but i did the el capitan endurance and won the toyota minolta race car. running R2 all around and im not having any real problems. i got killed in tokyo because of my pit strategy. im half way through the series now.

What's the best car to beat the Japan(ese) races with?

umm i beat the first series with my mines skyline 700hp. then after that theres a 70's,80's,90's, and light weight race. just buy what ever car you need...

save up your money and buy that penesalo[sp] sport le mans car its 4,500,000 Cr. but it is worth every bit of that

also i forgot to add that i am racing against the bentley another on of the same car i have the sauber 9 and one of the toyota race cars and its pretty close until the lap before i pit as i always seem to have a super human lap time and when i come out of the pits ive still got a 1.5 sec lead(which isnt much in this series)

Yeah, try doing the european events. Youll get a nice CLK-GTR in one of those evens.

and then when u get dat car u can do the 900,000 dallas in 15 min:) hey how did pd expect us to save up 5 mill thye must of done that on purpose ;)

Ok, after some racing last night, I'm at 19.8% with one race down in the 70's Cars Championship, and then a few more series in there then I'll start the European Events, get myself upto 25% by tonight. Then leave the endurance on till Saturday morning. :)

I'm getting pretty angry, I'm now having to do Race 2 over again, because for some reason it didn't save me completing it. I beat it last night, went back to the menu (the red memory card flashed, which I could've sworn meant it was saving), and I then went to my Home, then Saved it there also, turned it on today, and it's making me do the race again! Whee! This is bullcrap.

Ok, I'm doing the third race now, and I have now officially decided that I have no possible chance of winning this race. They're 58 seconds ahead of me, racing nearly flawlessly with my Minolta, am I using the wrong car or something? I have it fully tuned, too :-/ Makes no sense.

I used the Toyota Minolta 88-V Race Car for the GT World Championship also and had no problems winning the races. Is the Toyota Minolta 88-V stock? I left it stock and had meduim racing tires on the front and hard racing tires on the back.

The only problem i had during the GT Championship series was the tire wear issue, the first time i entered i had a nice lead but on the 8th lap my back tires were red and the fronts were still green so i had to pit early and that cost me the race. If you havent tried hard tires in the front and meduims in the back try it, it worked really well for me.

No mention of the '92 Peugeot 905 Le Mans car. Anybody got it yet?

And while we're on the subject, how do you get it? Can it be purchased? Cost?

The CLK-GTR theory.....I'm not so sure.....I can't even seem to win Tokyo with it stock. I tried the stage 4 turbo and hard tires theory and my qualifying times were worse than it was stock so I didnt even bother trying to race it. What happened with my experience when I had it stock was that I was keeping within 1 to 2 seconds of the Nissan R89C and holding the Toyota GT one a safe distance away. I was racing very stedily maintaining good lap times and before you know it on lap 5 I'm 5 sec. behind the Nissan and the GT one has passed me, I was able to regain 2nd for awhile but the GT one over took me again. I don't know maybe my driving is not as good as it should be but there has to be someway to win this. The souped up thing just doesnt give the same feel to the car. Is the F1 my only hope?

Try wining or buying a faster GT racer like the R8 or win the 88CV. You should be able to go faster in the CLK-GTR though with the turbo's, you might need to change some settings if the cars sliding or wheel spinning too much. Try giving the car a little TCS to extend the tyres life ect.

I don't understand what is the difficulty with this series. I used the Bentley Speed 8 that I won in the Sarthe unchicaned 24 hour endurance. Opposition in the series where the Minolta Toyota 88C-V and the BMW LMR12 category. The only modification I did was that I lowered it to its lowest setting and juggled R1, R2 and R3 tires. And that's it, I cruised to victory in every race except for the Superspeedway where I had to push a little bit. And the last race at Sarthe chicaned where I due to a problem with the connection to the brake pot in my DFP pedal base "outbraked" myself into the gravel twice at Mulsanne corner. But even that one proved to be a cake walk in the end when the stupid Toyota pitted one lap before the end.

My tip is to pic what tires to use with care, and DON'T PIT!!!

The difficulty part is beating the championship series without the cars like the Bentley Speed 8, Toyota Minolta 88, and cars like it. Alot of us dont have time to go through endurances or getting enough money to get a GTR car. I think alot of us has a CLK-GTR but no one can beat it except for one bad*** (probably lying too). :indiff: Anyhow, maybe the only way to beat it is beating one of the endurance races with the prize cars mentioned above.

Well, I can tell you one thing, I don't spend a lot of time playing games, it's more a well thought out plan where to go next. That is how ou progress quickly true a game like GT4.

But to win my Sauber I used a stock Impreaza LM to win the Grand Valley 300. Prize car is the Sauber C9 (Chinese version). Then I used the Sauber C9, still stock, to beat the Sarthe unchicaned 24 hour race. And I did it the way B-spec was intended. No stage 4 turbo, pure race tactics. But in the end I got my price car, and hey, it was the Bentley.

I have it, Thats what I did it with, I can be brought for 3.5 mil. I belive it is based of the Formula GT car (it has a 3.5l V-10 that was used in a F1 car in real life)

It drives very well (much like the F1 car, It even has the same tach they just moved the redline to 12K insted of 17.5K). Perhaps the best drive of any of the group C cars.

It has I belive the second best power to weight ratio.

There are two major problems in my opinion.

1: The Gear changes are RE-DAM-DICULOUSLY slow. Its terrible, It even cost me some races. I could start first and be in last place by the first corner because it takes so long to up shift. Its like they hadicaped the car for being so good.

2: It is inherently unstable at high speed (Again like the F1 car in the game) like 220+ It is hard to keep it steady. The Other group C cars can be driven smoothly a 235+ no problem not so for my 905. Could need some settings changes or something. I don't know but it could be something to look out for.

I would still buy it though. I like it very much.

You definitely have to tune it to your liking because my Toyota Minolta GTR gear ratio was slow and took forever to get to 6th gear. It also jumpy at 215+mph on long straight aways like Sarthe race track. The downforce and spring rate I had to change so it would stop doing it.
