need help GT World Championship

CLK-GTR would be pretty difficult to beat that series with. I tried A-spec and B-spec without much success. I made 3rd place at tokyo and never finished the one at the speedway. I got so pissed when that Minolta car lapped my CLK that I wanted to run in the wrong direction and take him out. :)

I'm just going to work on my driving skill and try to win some endurance races (FINALLY got 25%) so I can get a good car.

I using the Toyota minolta, im doing great so far. As long as you qualify first, it isnt much of a hassle.

However, the Opera Paris track is kicking my ass. I qualified 1st, but by the 7th lap I was 20 seconds behind the R89C and I eventually turned it off in a fit of rage.

Lol dude, the R89 pits late. You should of continued and passed it.

B-Spec easily won the whole series in my fully tuned Minolta. I was able to come first in all the races.

I did this entire series with the Toyota Minolta car that you win from the El Capitan 200 mile endurance race.

I only made the following changes:

1. Oil Change
2. R1 on the Rear, R2 on the front
3. Brakes changed to 7 on both Front and Rear.

I didn't buy any upgrades beyond the tires, and didn't mess with the gears, or suspension.

Won every race except Hong Kong. I also didn't pit in any race throughou the championship.

I had trouble with this series at first too, trying with the CLK-GTR. I wouldnt worry about qualifying, no need to be in front right off the bat, they are long races.
Im currently running it with a stock Minolta Toyata, I'm on race 7, won the first 6. I've got very hard's on the back and hard's up front, and set the TCS at 2 for tire wear and ASM at 0/0. It has been pretty easy so far, usually winning with a 30 sec or so lead. I just go all out and try to build up a big lead until the rears start to turn orange-usually about 14 laps. By this time, the other cars have usually pitted already, giving me a huge lead and time to pit myself without them catching up. Some I finished without pitting but for the long ones I stuck to pitting every 13-14 laps or so. Also, make sure you exit to garage and save between every race just in case!
But I wouldnt try with the CLK-GTR, it just doesnt seem to have the turning radius of the other cars like the Minolta. It can keep up on straights but the car is just sooo long, I think that affects its cornering.
The El Capitan endurance is pretty easy too, did it in a stock Amuse S2000 GT1 only took around 2 hours, definitely worth it for the Toyota.
Oh yea and I kept restarting it to get an easier field of cars, do this, it helps...the set I stuck with was Toyota GT-One, Chaparral 2J and 2D, a Nissan R390, and the BMW McLaren F1GTR. I thought the BMW would be the one to worry about but the standings are : Me 60pts, 2J 29pts, GT-One 28pts, Nissan 20pts, BMW 13pts, 2D 6pts. 👍
Good luck!

Well since everybody else is having some trouble, I might as well post mine...

For a well seasoned Gran Turismo player (me), I am having alot of trouble with this series. I already won the Toyota Mintola at El Capitaine and at first I entered the series with no tire changes nor turbo, I lost every race from Race 2 on. Then I re entered with the R1(back) and R2(front) tire changes and I lost at Hong Kong. Then I tired the stage 4 Turbo in B-Spec, lost every race...now I am very fustrated and I should be able to beat this...any tips hints???? Thanks

So what's the matter then? So called seasoned players having problems qith AI cars?

Why? Did they fix the AI pit strategy? AI cars are very powerful? now you can change oil between races, so it's the AI improved after all?

You definitely have to tune it to your liking because my Toyota Minolta GTR gear ratio was slow and took forever to get to 6th gear. It also jumpy at 215+mph on long straight aways like Sarthe race track. The downforce and spring rate I had to change so it would stop doing it.

Its not the gear ratios. Its the time it takes for the car to shift from 1-2. 2-3, 3-4 ect. Its like someone who just learned to drive a manual trans. I also have the Toyota it is a little jumpy on the Muslanne but no where near as bad as the 905. MY 88C-v is smooth until about 230 then it jets a bit jettery. But again not like the 905, its nearly impossible to drive at high speed. When I b-speced a race at sarthe with it I had it geared to run about 230. The AI driver would not push it past 215. I know the b-spec driver doesn't push as hard but still. However you are probobly right I could change the suspension and what not to cure that but there is no fix for the slow shifting.

I used the Toyota Mintola and did great everywhere except for Hong Kong and El Capitan....(I screwed up my pit stop forgot to ask for new tires :( ) I A-Spec-ed and B-Spec-ed my way through it and came out on top pretty comfortably. I've unlocked the extreme hall and am now at 38.3% complete :)

I should have also mentioned that I didn't have the TCS/ASM turned on at all.

I didn't find it difficult at all except on Hong Kong. The biggest advantage I think was the Driving Force Pro and being able to squeeze the gas and brakes. I found that with the Toyota Minolta you can't floor the gas until you are at around 7,000 RPM in third gear. After that it can be floored. Also I was using most of the time just 60% brakes except on some long turns. Trail braking with the reducing the brake pressure as I was turning also helped.

I used the Mclaran Mercedes on this race and got 1st. place in every race, oh yeah add the large Turbo.

One more thing, why would you run B Spec in any of these races, whats the point? You might as well go watch TV.

well I finally beat it with te BMW LMR stage 4 turbo, and r2 in front r1 in back. I didnt win every race but I had a huge points lead at the end... I could have completely quit both of the last two races and still won the series championship. I didnt have huge leads and it was very challenging... at one point at hong kong, there was one lap to go, I was in third, and the bottom 3 were closing on me fast cuz my tires were gone, they started ramming into me, and eventually spun me. I was ready to slam my ps2 through my TV and then set it all on fire. I seriously screamed obsceneties at the top of my lungs for 3 minutes.

You know whats funny is that chicks just dont get it... they're like "if you get that mad at it, stop playing!" hahaha, they will never understand.

I've tried this with the CLK-GTR with turbos installed (like 900+hp) and got whupped!! I only got to try it once, so next time I'm thinking of playing the suspension settings to see if I can get it to turn a little better. This car doesn't turn worth a piss with its default settings. If I have as much trouble as everyone else seems to be, I'll just have to do some endurance races and get a faster car.

Have you all noticed how AI lap times get a huge boost on the final lap? Even you have like 6 or more seconds throughout the race, you will have them rush you head to head to the finish line. This is very annoying, but keeps you alert even when you have a nice lead.

i thought that it was gonna be a PITA run but found it to be fairly easy.

you dont need any upgrades such as Nitrous or Bigger Turbo.

most of the cars are pitting towards the last few laps. Tokyo was difficult [new track] but you adjust learn the track { FAST! }

You used the SLR for this championship. Sorry but you'll have to prove that.

:crap: i meant to say " Hong Kong " was difficult.

Used the Minolta / Toyota Ride. believe it has more HP then any one else in the series.

1st go around, i lost 3 races but had enough points to win the championship.

2nd go around, it was easier.

you need to brake a little earlier then what the game says...if you brake when they tell you, your going to mis your apex.

at 50% completion, i won this Jaguar race car that's like 971hp. i put on super-hard race tires, and i think it's possible to win this championship series with this car.

i did the first race, was winning by like 5 seconds after 5 laps, but my tires looked like they'd need to be replaced after 3 more laps, so i'm not sure. then i crashed, so i gave up :P

i did the practice lap with the Jag, and got 1st place, and that definitely helps.

good luck. i think i'll need some too.

If possible, buying a light-weight flywheel will fix that.

I'm not that great a driver so I simply used the F1 car to win this championship. I was able to place first in almost all the races (came in 2nd once and 4th twice). For the 10th race, I had enough points to win regardless so I did the lazy thing and B-spec'd it (and won).

The biggest problem I found with the F1 is that I have to pit almost twice as much as the computer. In a one pit race, no problems, but in other races I loose the lead.

One other thing I noticed: the other drivers will pit on the last lap if they need to. That's not too logical but it enabled me to win El Capitan because of it.

one thing i must say. I found that DO NOT USE RSH TIRES ON THE STREET TRACKS. i won every race, BIG, except HK and Paris, this series isnt that hard now that i look back at it. Although it is kinda depressing when you run your best lap every and only pull away one second.

The 88C-V is ugly, But it will Git R Done.
