I have it, Thats what I did it with, I can be brought for 3.5 mil. I belive it is based of the Formula GT car (it has a 3.5l V-10 that was used in a F1 car in real life)

It drives very well (much like the F1 car, It even has the same tach they just moved the redline to 12K insted of 17.5K). Perhaps the best drive of any of the group C cars.

It has I belive the second best power to weight ratio.

There are two major problems in my opinion.

1: The Gear changes are RE-DAM-DICULOUSLY slow. Its terrible, It even cost me some races. I could start first and be in last place by the first corner because it takes so long to up shift. Its like they hadicaped the car for being so good.

2: It is inherently unstable at high speed (Again like the F1 car in the game) like 220+ It is hard to keep it steady. The Other group C cars can be driven smoothly a 235+ no problem not so for my 905. Could need some settings changes or something. I don't know but it could be something to look out for.

I would still buy it though. I like it very much.

Sounds like the Peugeot 905 will be fun to work on. I'll B-Spec spam the DTM race and pile up cash for it. From what you're saying, it looks like it will need major tranny work and lots of fiddling with the downforce and suspension.

That's what I play Gran Turismo for, so I'll have a ball with it, I'm sure.

You can't replace the gearbox, it always takes ages to change gear it has nothing to do with the ratio's so theres only so much you can do with it's tranny.

Congrats you win the "Not any help" award. If you would have just answered my question it would have taken you less time. People like you are what give message boards a bad rap, not helping people at all!

How can I find the CLK GTR if I don't know what make it is? Lamer!

You definately get a 👎 👎 👎

This is not really in response to anyone's post but...

AARRRRRGGGGHHH! I'm hating this GT World Championship. It's not that it's difficult. I'm using the Minolta with the Turbo so I'm easily the class of the field, but every track that I hate in this game is featured in this series. I hate Hong Kong, I hate New York, I hate Opera Paris, I don't know which track is next ('m up to Opera Paris) but I'm sure I'll hate that one, too. If I never have to race this series again, it'll be too soon.

I didn't get first in Hong Kong so I'm going to have to go back and race that one again. This time I'll make sure I qualify so I'm not starting 6 sec. behind at the start. I wish my B-Spec driver was better or I'd B-Spec this whole series, but he's still too slow at this point.

Back to work.

i used the chaperal (sp) 2d, i think it was the 2d, well it was the sucker car, with the biggest turbo, i easly won, just had hard tires on the back and medium on the front, then i didnt have to pit. i think the chapperal is the surprise in the game, it handles like its on rails :)

Is chapperal the make of the vehicle? And 2d the model?

This series has been nothing but headaches for me. I've tried lots of cars...so I'm doing the 24h Nurb and getting the F1 car and just getting this over with...

Where do I get the CLK GTR? Who makes this car?

Its a Mercedes. You get it by winning the German Touring Car Championship in the European Events.

Buy a Mercedes SL65. Max it out. Run it in the Mercedes one-make Legend Of The Silver Arrow event. Only the Nurburgring race is tough, and then only if the SLR McLaren is in it. Winning the series gets you the Mercedes CLK Touring Car. Use this setup on it:

http://www.gtvault.com/SetupDisplay.cfm?SetupID=0802J844508E947EA0A240441

Use Racing Medium tires and pump it up to over 600 HP. B-Spec the German Touring Car Championship ("Deutsche Touring Car Meisterschaft") event again and again and again and again, repeatedly winning the CLK-GTR Le Mans car. If you win the first four races, you don't even have to complete the fifth to win the event. You get 75,000 for the series and the resale on the CLK-GTR is so huge you end up with about 800,000 credits every time you win the series.

Keep one CLK-GTR for the GT World Championship. Continually B-Spec the event and sell your prize car all you want to pile up a fortune.

When B-Speccing, set the speed on 4, hit triangle to always have overtake on, hit R1 to display the map, hold L1 while you D-Pad right twice to increase the speed to 3X. If you come back from the kitchen and go right to the next event as each one ends, you can complete the series in just 15 minutes.

That's 3,200,000 credits in an hour, while you get other things done around the house.

Oh by the way, A-Spec the series some time. Its great.

I, too, used the Minolta Toyota 88-V. Unfortunately, I was already two races in before I noticed that I had R3 tires and hadn't purchased R2's. I had to drive like the wind to put a large distance between myself and 2nd place so I could make an extra pitstop. However, it is possible to win all 10 races strictly on R3's, you just have to drive like stink.

Long story short, buy R2's or R1's so you don't have to set hotlaps to distance yourself from 2nd place, and have to pit on lap 3 of the Le Mans race. The two Nissans didn't pit, and I had to chase them down from a 15 second deficit in one lap.

at 50% completion, i won this Jaguar race car that's like 971hp. i put on super-hard race tires, and i think it's possible to win this championship series with this car.

i did the first race, was winning by like 5 seconds after 5 laps, but my tires looked like they'd need to be replaced after 3 more laps, so i'm not sure. then i crashed, so i gave up :P

i did the practice lap with the Jag, and got 1st place, and that definitely helps.

good luck. i think i'll need some too.

how do i win the jaguar race car is that the purple jag that keeps whipping my ass in the gt world championship?

Im hoping this will help, Heres how i won it :

I originally started with a BMW V12 LMR Race Car (4,500,000cr) that i got from spending about 3.5 hours on the rally capri races selling the toyota raid car each time. I spent about 6 hours on sunday racing and tuning trying to get the thing to stop, turn in, etc with no luck. Managed 1st on route246, 4th on Twin ring, and 6th on hongkong... quit the series and went back to testing it out on each track, for the life of me i couldnt get it to work well.

So i went shopping for another car, did the european events touring car event on b-spec (15 minutes per 880k or so) and checked through the available cars for power/weight ratio... decided on the Playstation Pescarolo C60/Judd Race Car 591hp

added a stage 4 turbo (do not add the roll cage as it is what i think might have cause some issues with understeer on the bmw) got 1160hp i think.

the run down:
I saved after each race so that in case something happened like the cat unplugging the ps2 or i throw the controller at the tv.
(all done with ASM to 2's on both and TCM to 7)

Race 1
Tokyo Route-246
Tires: R2 front/R1 rear
Pit strategy: No pit
Settings:, left everything else to default
Results: was pretty easy, i even spun out once and took the switch back up top at half throttle to avoid doing it again.

Race 2
Motegi Twin Ring
Tires: R1/R1
Pit strategy: pitted on lap 14 and switched to R2/R1... should have started with this and pitted on lap 10
Settings: switched the final gear to 2.500
Results: no problems blowing by them on the straights, lapped people too

Race 3
Hong Kong
Tires: R3/R2
Pit strategy: pitted on the bottom of lap 8, should have pitted bottom of lap 9
Settings: switched final drive to 2.758 (could have used 2.770 to top out 6th on the straight)
Results: was important to be smooth and not hit the wall at the hairpin since they all do it. Was running 1'10 lap times back to back and easily pulled enough so when i pit on lap 8 i cought back up by lap 11 allowing me to back off and shift 1/2 throttle the last two laps to save tire

*Oil Change*

Race 4
Seol Central Reverse
Tires: R2/R1
Pit strategy: no pit
Settings: switched final drive to 2.500
Results: this was a cake walk... i could have let the b-spec driver do this one

Race 5
El Capitan
Tires: R2/R1
Pit strategy: no pit
Settings: Shock bound set to 5/3 and final drive at 2.500
Results: this was a good battle between the C9 merc, you learn where to drop the throttle to avoid spinning tires over certain large dips in the road.

Race 6
New York City
Tires: R2/R1
Pit strategy: pit near halfway
Settings: left everything stock, set final drive to 2.500
Results: was an easy win with the straight allowing me to gain about 2 seconds on the competition

Race 7
Opera Reverse
Tires: R3/R2
Pit strategy: pit on the bottom of lap 9
Settings: 2.875 final drive, shock bound set to 5/3, springs set at 11.5/12.5
Results: this was a tough one only winning by 1st place car pitting on lap 17. If you dont know this course go do a few laps in practice until you can nail the brake points or you'll lose running into walls

Race 8
Suzuka Full
Tires: R2/R1
Pit strategy: no pit
Settings: all default final drive set to 2.500
Results: this is a tough track to get down perfect.. i still dont have it down as well as i'd like but i still won thanks to their pit stops

*Oil Change*

Race 9
Grand Valley Speedway Reverse
Tires: R3/R2
Pit strategy: pit on bottom of lap 6
Settings: all default,default final
Results: Fun track once i figured out theres a few differences from GT3.. you just need to be consistant and you'll win.

Race 10
Sarthe Circuit
Tires: R2/R1
Pit strategy: no pit
Settings: springs set to 11.5/12.5 shock bound set at 5/3 rebound at 7/7 final drive set at 2.400
Results: this was tricky getting the car setup to stay on the road over some of the bumps, once it was setup though it was completely stable on the straights and still had plenty of grip for the long sweeping turns. again, do some practice runs. I think i could have used R3/R2 tires as well w/o a pit

overall, it was easy jumping in this car instead of the BMW LMR... i wish i had this info before spending a whole weekend thinking i totally lost my skill because i was losing 9 out of the 10 races with the wrong car. Hopefully this will help someone else out. Got all these on my first try thanks to 2-3 practice laps before each race to nail pole qualifying and tweak settings.

The one I totally hated was Opera Reverse--even in the F1 car. However, last night I got the BMW M3 GTR Race Car and did the same track and I can't believe the difference! I almost enjoyed racing it. The brakes on that car are so awesome an better than anything else I've driven so far because everytime I thought I braked too late and was going to hit a wall, the car miraculously avoided the crash by a hair width, pulled away, and continued down the track .... It's like the car has a built-in self-preservation chip :D.

I guess that taught me the importance of having a car that's properly setup for the track that you're on. That BMW in stock form is perfect for short tracks and now I understand "the ultimate driving machine."

just out of curiosity guys.... B spec mode you still have to watch it to make pit stops, and start the next race in the series correct? If so thank god for Tivo!! hahaha I can see it now, start race, switch over to tv, watch show, 3 minutes, pause tv, switch back to ps2, collect winnings, start next race, repeat step 1.

hey i have a problem cant access that race it says i need to complete all beginner and professional races to race in this but i already did.....:S

Are you sure? I had the same problem until I noticed I had missed one race. Go through each event and make sure you completed it.

Yeah, the high speed instibility can probobly be worked out, I havent driven it in I while I might give it a shot myself. As it is a race car you can't do much with the Trans as far as adding parts as someone else mentioned. It's not the gear ratios that are a problem. It just takes so long to get from fist to secong gear etc., like the gear lever has REALLY long throws, or holding the clutch down to long, or something.

Just imagine each number as the shift point. and the dashes between them represent the time before the car starts pulling again in the next gear [not the time it takes the tach (car) to reach the shift points]

Other cars: 1-2-3-4-5

905: 1----2----3----4----5----6

But, (with the stage 4 turbo)by virtue of its P/W It will put you infront.

But like you said It adds to the challenge. The fact that is the lightest of the LM cars at 750KG really shows up in its braking and cornering. Personally I like the design, Its different. The fact that it is one of the later Group C cars is evident. Again I would buy it if I were you.

The gt one toyota is a dog and so is the mercedes clk gtr. slow as molasses the nissan r92 race car is nasty beat every race the way it came from the used car lot I on day 694 when i bought it. car handles great and flies. qualifying first in the practice rounds is a must otherwise u dont stand a chance i dont care what car u r in. u can also win a brand new r92 nissan in the 1000 km race at fuji in the endurance hall. I like the look of the black on i got used. However looks arent goin to do it in this race super hards on the back and hards on t he front. I did all the races without pitting. the minolta is a good car as well for the gt world championship same deal hards on front super hards on the rear. I like the handling of the nissan better but the minolta has higher top speed but i will take the trade off of a lil less power that minolta understeers like a mfer. if u are still having trouble u might just need to improve your driving skills (not tryin to bruise anyones egos but its the truth).

If only have to watch it if you want to speed up the time, otherwise it will pit automatically in B-spec when it needs either tires and/or fuel.

Fatal Error
i forget where i read it, but this solution worked for me :)

go to the endurance races and do the el captain 200 miles race..i think i used my toyota gt one LMP car. anyways, after you win that, you get the TOYOYTA 88C-V Race Car (MINOLTA) '89...drop in a stage 4 turbo and you're on your way to victory!
Man you uped the turbo on that car, so your like running over 1100 HP com'on.
You can win that series easly with a stock 88C-V.

just completed it with nice numb hands after my driving force goin mad when my car was bouncing down the straights of sarthe, i used the toyota 88c-v, made the championship easy really, got 94 points coz my tyres messed up on hong kong and i got a 3rd place. meh, i won it anyways

Feel your pain! I'm going to Opera Paris now with the Minolta Toyota, and the damn thing is so bumpy that I can even control it. I found some good advice in this thread that I will put into practice tonight.

i am going for the f1 car at the 24 hour race. is there any way around clicking ok everytime the car pits, or is there a way to get new tires and fuel automatically without having to click 'ok' in b-spec everytime i pit?

If you don't do anything, the screen will automatically accept what's on the screen and continue the pitstop after a few seconds.

The key thing is that it accepts what's on the screen--one time I had gone in for fuel but not tires and when I switched over to B-spec I forgot to set it back. The next time my b-spec pitted, the tires weren't changed :ill:.

So far I really had fun with the game. I'm at 46% now, already cleared all European, American and Japanese events, as the beginner events and almost all pro events, except... The GT World Championship..

Tried it with a CLK-GTR stock.. Didn't work out for me..
Tried it with a CLK-GTR + stage 4 turbo... Came in 3th at the end of the Championship...

Now, as we're speaking, I'm B-speccing the 24h Nurburgring race, to get my F1 car.

My plan was to keep those endurances for the very last, and do them all by myself, but right now I don't have time to compete 24 hrs in front of the tv, but I really want to continue with the game.. So I decided doing this and get my F1 car to be able to clear the series and go on with Extreme events...

Cheers...
