need help GT World Championship

I am also having problems with this chamionship. The first time I tried it - it was the first time I had raced in a super fast race car (my car being the CLK gtr race car) and I wasn't used to going round the track so much. So I thought it may be better to get a bit more of the other championships done before I attempted such a high paced championship.

I tuned my CLK and tried again. THIS TIME, on Tokyo, I was well ahead by lap 5. But my tires just turned redd, and the Mercedes was impossible to control, so I had to nurse my car to the pits with red tires, I got passed by all but one car. When I got out of the pits I was a whole 45 second behind the 905. I managed to grab 2nd just before the finish, but to my suprise the 905 didn't pit, once. So I finished over 20 seconds behind.

But I'm feeling alot more confident in doing the championship now, I just reached 50% and got the Purple Jag, to get used to it I did a family cup race at Le Sarthe, and thrashed all the Le Man cars by over 15 seconds.

So I'll report back with my result on the championship.

I used my Audi R8 and won every race on first try.

Don't B-spec! Where's the fun in that. Lol... then again me in an Audi R8 wasnt very difficult either... although I only won by about 30 secs most races.

This is prolly one of the best championships in the game... so why play the game if youre gonna skip one if its best parts? A-spec is the way to go!

I won it with the R8 also.
I think its the only car that I've put over 1K miles on in my garage.

I had used some of my black 4 money to buy it but it was well worth it :)

i used the MERCEDES-BENZ C9 Race Car (Sauber) '89 that i won in the grand vally endurance. forget what i used to win that one though..... i did both with b-spec too.

easiest way to win world GT championship buy an R8 Tune it put R1's on the rear and R2's on the front, make sure you qualify in 1st place and never pit unless its needed, which if you put those tires on you should only have to pit for one or two of the races.

I used the MINOLTA that iv won from the endurance race. Stuck a level 4 turbo, changed the oil (it increases from 1123hp to 1223hp), and tried the race in B-spec. First 2 races has won, then just came last all the time... wtf??? My b spec driver has like 7000pts... i guess il have to a-spec it all... ah well

use a nissan R92CP (get in fuji 1000), much better on tyre wear than the cars u will face

must try out the black one i just bought in the used car lot hehe

(and i only managed bronzes in the IB and IA licences LOL)

'b spec' wont work very well on any tight city tracks btw...... u are better doing them on 'a spec' than shouting at your monitor every time 'b' hits a wall LOL

First I gave this one hell with a Comaro race car...got my ass whupped.

Next I tried the Option stream Z thing. The other cars were ten seconds ahead by the time the car was finished turbo lagging.

Then I thought, "Okay a $1, 350, 000 Mobil 1 NSX ought to do the trick". Nope. Can not keep up on straightaways, even with 916 HP.

Finally got pissed and bought the Mazada 787b and won the series, 7 out of 10 races. Got beat at the Super speedway and Paris of course. Can't remember which other though.

Good challenge on this race. I'm gonna give it another go with my new Ford GT LM '04. I'd like to make this race worth about 100 A spec points. That seems to be a nice challenge level.

With the NSX it's like 200 hundred A spec points and I can never seem to win anything that high. The handicap is to high.

I'm just mashin' away trying to get to 25% so I can start the endurance races, and win some nice cars! 👍

To add to the experience, I used the black 787b with a touch of N20.

I was against a Nissan R92, R89 and a Minolta. The rest of the field were crap.
I won everywhere except Hong Kong, where I seriously couldn't keep up with that wicked R92 and came 2nd, and Suzuka, where I stupidly choose softer tires (R3/R2) as I thought I could battle it out better that way. I made too many mistakes and came home with an unflattering 4th place.

I got around 100 A-Spec points for each race depending on tires. The keys to winning are:
1) always qualify and run practice laps until you need to pit for tires, thus assessing your tire needs for that race
2) carefully choose where to mount R2/R1s to avoid pitting (Seoul, La Sarthe, etc).
3) get a little extra boost with N2O. But no matter what, in the case of an idle start I got whooped by both the R92 and the Minolta to the first corner, and had to catch up.

Also big thumbs down to PD for having the Minolta pit on the final straight or the final lap on most races in this series, that's just meaningless.

I have no problem winning Gran Turismo World Championship WHEN I DON'T HAVE TIRES PROBLEMS. If I use medium I usually have to change them 2 or 3 times more than rest of the car. If I use hard tires then I lose easily. So, for me tires are the problem. I tried Toyota GT one, Mazda 787b, Suzuki Escudo, and Jaguar XJ-R9. I'm winning when my tires are OK, but as soon as I go to the pit stop - I lose.

I have completed 76% of the game (no, I never used B-spec). I'm currently racing at Nurburgring 24 Hours, I have about 8 more hours to go.

So, I guess my questions is - WHAT TIRES TO USE?

Im hoping this will help, Heres how i won it :

I originally started with a BMW V12 LMR Race Car (4,500,000cr) that i got from spending about 3.5 hours on the rally capri races selling the toyota raid car each time. I spent about 6 hours on sunday racing and tuning trying to get the thing to stop, turn in, etc with no luck. Managed 1st on route246, 4th on Twin ring, and 6th on hongkong... quit the series and went back to testing it out on each track, for the life of me i couldnt get it to work well.

So i went shopping for another car, did the european events touring car event on b-spec (15 minutes per 880k or so) and checked through the available cars for power/weight ratio... decided on the Playstation Pescarolo C60/Judd Race Car 591hp

added a stage 4 turbo (do not add the roll cage as it is what i think might have cause some issues with understeer on the bmw) got 1160hp i think.

the run down:
I saved after each race so that in case something happened like the cat unplugging the ps2 or i throw the controller at the tv.
(all done with ASM to 2's on both and TCM to 7)

Race 1
Tokyo Route-246
Tires: R2 front/R1 rear
Pit strategy: No pit
Settings:, left everything else to default
Results: was pretty easy, i even spun out once and took the switch back up top at half throttle to avoid doing it again.

Race 2
Motegi Twin Ring
Tires: R1/R1
Pit strategy: pitted on lap 14 and switched to R2/R1... should have started with this and pitted on lap 10
Settings: switched the final gear to 2.500
Results: no problems blowing by them on the straights, lapped people too

Race 3
Hong Kong
Tires: R3/R2
Pit strategy: pitted on the bottom of lap 8, should have pitted bottom of lap 9
Settings: switched final drive to 2.758 (could have used 2.770 to top out 6th on the straight)
Results: was important to be smooth and not hit the wall at the hairpin since they all do it. Was running 1'10 lap times back to back and easily pulled enough so when i pit on lap 8 i cought back up by lap 11 allowing me to back off and shift 1/2 throttle the last two laps to save tire

*Oil Change*

Race 4
Seol Central Reverse
Tires: R2/R1
Pit strategy: no pit
Settings: switched final drive to 2.500
Results: this was a cake walk... i could have let the b-spec driver do this one

Race 5
El Capitan
Tires: R2/R1
Pit strategy: no pit
Settings: Shock bound set to 5/3 and final drive at 2.500
Results: this was a good battle between the C9 merc, you learn where to drop the throttle to avoid spinning tires over certain large dips in the road.

Race 6
New York City
Tires: R2/R1
Pit strategy: pit near halfway
Settings: left everything stock, set final drive to 2.500
Results: was an easy win with the straight allowing me to gain about 2 seconds on the competition

Race 7
Opera Reverse
Tires: R3/R2
Pit strategy: pit on the bottom of lap 9
Settings: 2.875 final drive, shock bound set to 5/3, springs set at 11.5/12.5
Results: this was a tough one only winning by 1st place car pitting on lap 17. If you dont know this course go do a few laps in practice until you can nail the brake points or you'll lose running into walls

Race 8
Suzuka Full
Tires: R2/R1
Pit strategy: no pit
Settings: all default final drive set to 2.500
Results: this is a tough track to get down perfect.. i still dont have it down as well as i'd like but i still won thanks to their pit stops

*Oil Change*

Race 9
Grand Valley Speedway Reverse
Tires: R3/R2
Pit strategy: pit on bottom of lap 6
Settings: all default,default final
Results: Fun track once i figured out theres a few differences from GT3.. you just need to be consistant and you'll win.

Race 10
Sarthe Circuit
Tires: R2/R1
Pit strategy: no pit
Settings: springs set to 11.5/12.5 shock bound set at 5/3 rebound at 7/7 final drive set at 2.400
Results: this was tricky getting the car setup to stay on the road over some of the bumps, once it was setup though it was completely stable on the straights and still had plenty of grip for the long sweeping turns. again, do some practice runs. I think i could have used R3/R2 tires as well w/o a pit

overall, it was easy jumping in this car instead of the BMW LMR... i wish i had this info before spending a whole weekend thinking i totally lost my skill because i was losing 9 out of the 10 races with the wrong car. Hopefully this will help someone else out. Got all these on my first try thanks to 2-3 practice laps before each race to nail pole qualifying and tweak settings.

great post, thanks! I am going to do this races this way ;) but I have got 2 little question:
1) Has anyone driven Suzuki Escudo in this races yet? Is it driveable? Becuse in GT3 I couldn`t drive and steer with the damn car!!
2) Which car of the mentioned ones is the fastest? Is it this Minolta Toyota, or R8?

Suzuki Escudo is not good at all. I have, I used to few times, and I don't like it.

I finally passed Gran Turismo World Championship.

Easiest way to win:

- First win Nurburgring 24 Hours Endurance. I used B-Spec for the 1st time in that race and I used Jaguar XJ220. Easy win.

- For wining Nurburgring 24 Hours Endurance you'll get Formula 1. Perfect vehicle.

- Use Formula 1 to win Gran Turismo World Championship. I won 7 out of 10 races. Really easy.

use a nissan R92CP (get in fuji 1000),

Thats the car I used on B-Spec to get GOLD in each of the 10 races. Secret is pitting 1 or 2 laps after the others have pitted and to have one grade harder of tyres on the rear than the front. You do though have to keep an eye on it in B-Spec mode in that on the city tracks, you have to lower the pace right down (to 1 at points depending on your tre wear) until you are past the sharp corners where you can then put it back up to 4 or 5.

One little tip, after 30,000 miles the R92 turns to crap in that it will not perform on any track the way it should do, even after a chassis refresh. I finally wore mine out last night & it wouldn't grip the road on any track (even in the Top Speed event under Performance & Speed). Spent the best part of 2 hours tweaking around with it before selling it & redoing the Fuji 1000 (on B-Spec ) to replace it.

{EDIT} Amended typo that stated 3000 instead of 30,000 miles. My apologies.

Is that so? I just won this with the black R92CP. It has almost 39,000 miles on it and it's friggin amazing! I won 7 out of 10 races against a Minolta, R89, another R92, a CLK-GTR, and a Vertigo. I would have won all of them except I let my dad drive a lap on Hong Kong and on Grand Valley (bad idea) and I let B-Spec do the beginning of Paris (another bad idea). Use R2's front and back, and if you have to pit in a race, switch to R3's.

I am using the 787b with a turbo...
I led by 20 seconds up until i pitted. Then I got back to second after coming out in 4th...
Was 9 seconds behind the peugeot which to my surprise DID NOT pit!
How on earth can it not pit?
I was using Hards on the front and super hards on the rear... I still needed to pit...
This seems a little bit disappointing...

Yeap it is so. The replacement car handles like the original one did when first bought. Chassis refresher didn't do a thing. Changing settings didn't do a thing. Tyre settings that won the same races previously caused spin outs against the same cars as raced against before. 31,207 miles on the clock when the car decided to start acting up. You say though that you won 7 out of 10 races. The car before it started acting up won 10 out of 10 races in this championship on B-Spec, yet after doing so and re-attempting the championship using same settings, would not finish above 5 position. Even driving manually on the High Speed test track was a struggle over before. Oil changes & car washes done literally nothing but put the BHP back up. Handling with ANY tyres and numerous suspension setting changes done nothing.
Like I said, after selling the car and re-winning it again, it was back to normal after re-buying the tuning upgrades.
I have no idea why it has done this, but I know that I am not the only person who has had this happen to them on here and not with just the one car. Maybe it is the amount of Endurance races & other long distance races that I have done in the car that has caused the 'problems' and that it may not occur for a few more miles if it had been used to do shorter races.
I can only go by my own experiences. if it has not happened to you then, good luck with the current car.

I won the World Tour today. I did it pretty easily (6pts races) with the Jaguar XJR-9 Race Car (won by completing 50% in PAL version, maybe also in NTSC) fully tuned. 1112 hp and 890 kg or so. Slow on acceleration (I guess it was that Stage 4 turbo...) but on the straights it was brutal. I screwed the Hong Kong race and finished 3rd, but won the rest. I mostly used front: medium/racing, rear: hard/racing as tyres, and usually was in pit stop on time a race, about half-way through. Though, on the Twin Ring Motegi Super Speed Way (the oval thing) I never pit stopped. Lol, this gave me a hell lot of time in front of the others :P And yeah, on the Opera Paris race I stopped 2 times in pit. Really scary when I was unsure if the C9 Sauber was ever going to do that last pit stop... :scared:

Hey, this championship isn't hard at all. I'm using the Toyota 88C-V with R2s on the back, I've won 7/7 races so far, gonna do the rest later

Really?! dam so 3k and the car is crap :D well good to know.

I used my Minolita with a stage 4 turbo for about 5 races until my frustration took over and I quit. That bastard Sauber Mercedes was unbeatable. My b-spec driver was a complete retard driving into a wall and taking 20 seconds to reverse and get back on the track. Even when the Mercedes pitted my b-spec driver was too far behind because he was making love to the bloody wall. :grumpy:

The only advice I can give is that if you see "Peugeot" or "MINOLTA" on the list of cars in the race, and neither of them is yours... RUN!!

The R92 had no problems with either of them. More problems with the R92 that was running against us rather than the Peugeot or the Minolta.

I'm using my recently purchased (and fully modded) Nissan R92CP (Black).

Only on race 2 so far (after failing miserably in B-Spec). It is indeed a lot easier in A-Spec mode, it just takes alot longer.
