need help GT World Championship

Get to 50% complete and you get the Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race car. That should do it (if you're good enough)! 👍

i tried it with the XJR-9 with upgraded turbo, and i did okay until i got to Motegi ring. my b-spec driver hit the wall a few laps in and took like 15 seconds to turn around and go. i almost broke my controller. i was extremeley frustrated with the jag and sold it, which wasn't a very good idea because it was 3 million or so. so, an upgraded XJR-9 can work, if you use harder tires in the back.

I've not tried with Nigel (my B-Spec driver). I tend to race shorter races myself and let Nigel do the Endurance races.
I think Opera Paris was a pain for me. Very bumpy. Hard to get a good set up...

To race and win in the Championship, just use any of the "good" LMP or prototype cars. 👍
I won with the Toyota 88-v. Which ever car you choose, just buy R2 tyres to put on the back. You can pit at the same time as the Nissan or Sauber and you will always win. There is no need to spend the money for turbos. The cars are faster when driven by a human than a weak B-spec driver. The only reason why I came in 2nd in Hong Kong was because I was so tired that I made a mistake. Other than that, all gold. :D

If really are not a good driver, then I guess you need all the added HP but what fun is that?

I had a lot of fun in this series. :dopey:

Well after much reading, it sounds like a lot of the 4.5mil credit cars are perfect for this race. I have the Pescarolo c60 fully modded. I am going to go try this race out in this car tomorrow.

If it is better, I don't mind purchasing another car, if there is a better car I could get for this race I would be open for suggestions.

i'm waiting to get 25% for the endurence races do get a R92CP and then i'll tackle the Championship but my little toyota 7 sure can't hang with those cars, if only you could buy the C9

I was talking with my GTP buddy McLaren'sAngel a couple of nights ago. When I was telling her about my GTWC experiences, I was able to get anywhere even with an 800+ hp Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR. Then I reach 50% completion and get the Jaguar race car from 1988. I was so confident in my chances of winning it all, that my performance went like this: (1) Tokyo - 3rd Place, (2) Motegi Oval - Winner, (3) Hong Kong - lapped for the first time in a GT game that I can remember... retired. But then while talking to my buddy, she told me to win the El Capitan Endurance race. I could win either the Toyota Minolta 88C-V, or the Nissan R92CP. I end up winning the Toyota 88C-V (commonly called the "Minolta" on GTP) after winning in a Sebring Silver Metallic Amuse S2000 GT1.

And let me tell you. Even with a little strategy and a little playing rough, I'm undefeated so far in GTWC. I'm not running the championship, and I'm going to do Hong Kong last.

So what's the moral of all this? If you have 25% completion or more, get a great car, go to El Capitan in the Endurance Events, get that Toyota, and enjoy the ride! It's no wonder why everyone's buzzing about this machine. When I raced Seoul Circuit Reverse (good they FINALLY named reverse tracks as "Reverse" rather than 2/II), I OWNED the R92CP Nissan. And if you know your automobiles, you know that Toyota and Nissan are longtime rivals. Two companies who DO NOT like each other in racing. I felt like I was giving Nissan a tougher time on the track with this wicked 1988 Toyota GTP.

Now get to racing, ya' hear?

Just finished =

Tokyo Route 246: 1st (No Pit)
Twin Ring Motegi - Super Speedway: 1st (1 x Pit)
Hong Kong: 6th (2 x Pit - Changed from A-Spec to B-Spec due my terrible performance).
Seoul Central Reverse: 1st (No Pit)
El Capitan: 3rd (1 x Pit)
New York: 1st (1 x Pit)
Opera Paris Reverse: 5th (1 x Pit)
Suzuka Circuit: 2nd (No Pit)
Grand Valley Speedway Reverse: 2nd (1 x Pit)
Circuit De La Sarthe I: 1st (No Pit) - With a 35 Second lead over Merc CLK-GTR.

Total 65 points and 1st place. Beat Nissan R92CP (2nd) by 10 points. It was very close - especially when I span out on Grand Valley twice in last lap :ouch:. The Toyota 88V-C far superior in speed, but it pitted twice on a few tracks - hence a win for me.

Was a bloody close championship :scared:

Hello! I have bought Peugeot Pescarolo C60, and tuned it to 1162PS monster, just like Boostdemon has posted. I am not perfect driver in GT4, but I am tryin. 15 min ago I finished Hong Kong race, and here are the stands:
1.Nissan R92CP
2. Me in Pescarolo C60
3.Nissan R89C
4.Minolta Toyota
5.Mercedes CLK-GTR
6.Vertigo race car

I let my B-spec driver to drive Hong Kong race, first two races I won, and it was really easy. I think that the guide that boostdemon has posted is the way to go through this GT Championship!! To all of you who hasn`t started this series, do it now with Pescarolo!! :)
enjoy

Races can be quite tough, even when money is tight. So getting up to 4,500,000 to get a bigtime racing prototype can be tough. Heck, look at me! I have only two pure race cars, the Jaguar XJR9 (correct name?) and the Toyota 88C-V. I'm racing the GT World Championship in seperate races, with Hong Kong last. I'm not racing right now, just enjoying some classical music and some of my Photo Mode shots.

GT4 is a beautiful-looking game. But there's nothing beautiful about trailing in the GT World Championship. Desperate times call for desperate measures. If you don't have at least 25% completion, you're not going to stand a chance in GTWC. So you'll need 50% to get a nice "starter" car for the GT World Championship. And if you know how to make big money in the game, go for it and buy something badass to whip the competition. If you have a million-something Credits, but not 3.5M or 4.5M and have 50% completion, check the Used Car lots for 1990s Early and Late. Look all the way down... and you might be in luck.

You don't need 25% so you can win a nice car in the endurances, and you don't need to waste 4.5 mil on a car.

Do the Japan championship where you win the Motul Pitwork Z and drive off with the Ford GT LM.

I've read most of the "get rich quick" methods in GT4, and so far, I've never re-raced an entire series in GT4. So for example, if I raced the All-Japan Championship, I've never re-raced it since. Are you telling me that if I re-race the JGTC championship and win it all, I can get the Ford GT LM Race Car?

And what's this "3 hours for 4.5 million Credits" deal? Making big money isn't as easy as it was in GT2 (re-race the GT All-Stars event at Red Rock Valley, sell the Prize Car, do it again).

PSI240SX
well I finally beat it with te BMW LMR stage 4 turbo, and r2 in front r1 in back. I didnt win every race but I had a huge points lead at the end... I could have completely quit both of the last two races and still won the series championship. I didnt have huge leads and it was very challenging... at one point at hong kong, there was one lap to go, I was in third, and the bottom 3 were closing on me fast cuz my tires were gone, they started ramming into me, and eventually spun me. I was ready to slam my ps2 through my TV and then set it all on fire. I seriously screamed obsceneties at the top of my lungs for 3 minutes.

You know whats funny is that chicks just dont get it... they're like "if you get that mad at it, stop playing!" hahaha, they will never understand.

Aint that the truth. I have surprisingly not totally destroyed any controller of mine since i got my system. i have even thrown my controller (with extension cable) at my tv once, but the cord was stuck on my feet and like a looney toons bugs bunny prank it jumped back and bagged me. i think it was GT3 during an edurance race that i was enlightened. My TV is fine and I wont go with a wireless controller yet, still have some anger in me.

LOL, that's classic. I always thought that the controllers looked like mutilated boomerangs :scared:. I haven't ever thrown my controller at my TV, though I've slammed it to the ground quite a few times. Not yet since I got GT4; I've actually done it the most with Star Wars Battlefront. God damn you stupid ****er Droidekas! *shakes fist at houseplant*

I'm stuck on this..i try to b-spec the races cause i got bored of trying it..never went past 2nd race on a-spec..anyways, i have a Minolta and the R92CP, i get gold on first 2 races on b-spec..rest is 4-5th place..and honk kong..6th place.

So I Suppose all that needs to be asked now is: Of the top choice vehicles to use in this series which ones vs which opponents need what alternative tweaked (if any) settings or parts; my situation follows.

i gots the "Minolta Toyota 88C-V Race Car" and have retried racing HK (race 3) several times and the only time i did at all well enough to win did not last long enough to only yeild me 2nd.

i've got the stg4 turbo (settings screen listed 1223HP) and even with medium tires (r3) has difficulty keeping up with the Mazda 787B, my current nemisis. i get close then never get that ciagr everyone talks about. i have plenty of $$ but i have already saved the series up to now like a good GTer. (leave, save, car wash, oil change - betweem races).

i dont want to screw my win ratio. i can drive well, i'm just not the nuts and bolts type. what settings should i change. "Trust me Harry, I won't make a fool of you."

gtvault.com does not have anything on the 88C.

My series has the following cars:

787B of course
Camaro LM RC 01
R390 GT1 RC 98
Pescarolo C60 RC 04
R8 RC 01
Minolta Toyota (me)

I wish i would have read this thread first. I can post my settings details if needed.

Thanks in advance, I am not so SMRT.

I finished the rest of the GT World Championship this morning. I probably should have done the Le Mans race in B-Spec because it was a race I should have won, but after slipping and sliding a lot at a track I'm very experienced with, it's a damn shame to screw up on a track you're very good at. But then, even monkeys fall from trees. Got that beautiful Ford GT LM racer that you see in the opening video as a prize car. Only race I need to redo now is Suzuka. Other than that, I haven't turned a wheel yet in the Extreme Hall. I'm probably going to concentrate on the two Nurburgring Nordschleife endurances to try to get more money and better cars.

So if you know what you're doing, try to win the GT World Championship as best as you can.

Well I finally won the F1 after a draining 24h endurance. It was worth it though. In the first race of GT world champ my b-spec driver won the race about 1 min ahead of the other cars. There goes the stress from that championship.

HsMjsty, are you driving the car with ASM on and TC on? If so, then try turning ASM off and leaving TC on to level 3 or maybe less(haven't tried that yet). The Minolta will be easier to oversteer/rotate with enough practice and will accelerate at a more rapid pace thanks to a lower TC setting. I've ran through this series with a Nissan R92CP so you may want to try that car as well.

I tried the race series in a full-up GT-One (TS020) '99 Race car, with super hard tires.

Tokyo R246 (A-spec): won comfortably
Super Speedway (A-spec): Won very easily, most opponents stacked it before they pitted in. Lapped opposition twice
Hong Kong (A-spec): Got lapped by the Chaparral 2J race car, who was dominating massively
Seoul Central (B-spec): Won, not comfartably but managed it.
El Capitan (A-spec): Won very comfortably
New York (B-spec): Repeated spinnings on the rounded section. Came last. very last.
Opera Paris (A-spec): Got lapped twice by the chaparral. Quit after this point.

How much better will I do by:

a) Using the optimum tyre setting for each race (What is it?)
b) Using the Minolta Toyota 88C-V instead?

Edit: Studentdriver your sig is fantastic! I've added that song to my race playlist!!!

You will do better with the Minolta it seems( I haven't obtained the GT One yet, but it looks to be slower than the group c cars). I ran medium fronts, and hards on the back and won every race in the series. Good luck

ok so

i beat the gt championship on b-spec mode using the minolta. but it wasn't a blow out. the real key is that the game cycles a list of opponants, if you get a minolta to race against, you might as well quit. same with the mercedes something or other.

but after several attempts, i finally got a lineup of opponants that were not better than me...

i only won by 20 points overall. i came in 6th on a race, 4th on another... the key for me was to micro-manage each race. going to 5 for straights, and backing down to 2 for the curves, as my b-spec driver has a tendancy to spin out when the tires get worn. i won all of the high speed tracks, and ran in to trouble when there were lots of sharp curves.

really, the main thing though is to wait until you get a weak batch of cars to race against.

I've bought a GT-one, only did a car wash, an oil change and putted hard tires on the back.I'm really dominating this event. The Minolta and the Jag. XJR Race car don't stand a chance.

I already did 5 races and won them all.

GT-one:
stock:
oil change,car wash, Front tires:Racing/medium Rear:Racing/hard

Cheers,

Quick question, how many A-Spec points do you get for a GT World Championship race using the Minolta? I was about to start it last night in my Jaguar XJ220, but it looks like it will be pretty hard work, so I might just wait until I've done El Capitan this weekend and use the Minolta like everyone else... doesn't it make it a walkover though?
