New 1.11 Car Prices

I dislike that so many people feel so entitled to have everything right now. My opinion, the Entitled Generation is ruining games by moving developers toward this culture of patching, DLC and microtransactions. Go find someone with an old school NES and see if you can live with Super Mario Bros. or Mega Man. That sense of accomplishment completing a game like that has been gone for many years. Now it's release day patched and adjusting difficulty if people cry about how hard it is.

Sometimes you have to work your 🤬 off to get what you want. If that's not in your DNA or you don't have the time then you'll end up with nothing in the end.

Thanks for making me old.

Weirdly, I haven't seen much of people suggesting they get the cars immediately.

What I have seen is that some people think the cars require too much time investment to purchase. I can't really argue that; the most efficient method currently available in-game (clean race in a KTM at BMB in the PSL series) would require over 12 hours to afford just one of these cars. And that's if you run a perfect, accident-free race 54 times.

This batch of cars alone costs nearly 50% of what the entire 170+ remainder of the lineup does.

Yes, people can win either of them in the daily marathon prizes. It's a (non-monetized, thankfully) lootbox by another name, except you're limited to one per day.

The value of the cars is fine IMO but having a 20m credit limit is silly, there's just no reason for it as from a coding point of view it's just as easy to have a much higher near infinite one - it's just an arbitrary figure they've decided on.

That's all well and good but a point I made earlier is that they have been more than happy to accommodate casual play when it comes to the gameplay itself- disallowing tuning and frequently adjusting the physics to make things easier- things that have made the game less enjoyable for me.

I'm more than willing to put in work to get what I want, I just don't consider those cars desirable enough to be with the about of effort. For what it's worth, I imagine they planned more on having people win those cars with the marathon but that puts it down to pure chance, not effort. They priced them like this is some immersive element where unattainable cars in reality seem just as unattainable in game.

Respectfully, I disagree. I think these "halo cars", if you will allow the expression, are needed and should be far out of reach. What's wrong with having to put in time and work to be able to get your reward? If it takes 54 clean races, so be it. Maybe I'll learn something along the way about a course or how to drive better in traffic or even experience the variety of content that actually exists despite complaints to the contrary.

It took me a long time to be able to afford both the Jag and Ferrari and the Ford on top of that in GT6 but I think I enjoyed those cars that much more. Racing, photomode, tuning... If they were as "affordable" as other cars they'd have gathered just as much dust. Maybe I'm in the minority.

I can understand the 20 million price. Its something exotic and not meant to be bought by all and right away. But with the normal pace it would take me 3 months. And I played quite alot !

Just make it possible to sell the free gift cars for 1/2 of the price or 1/3 and all would be happy again. I do not understand this.

“Video games” and “work” should never be in the same sentence to me. I mainly play video games to relax and have fun.

There is a difference between making players earn something and artificially lengthing the game to make players get said thing. And it sounds like with the XJ-13 and 330, it’s the latter. That’s not good game design. You want players to feel like they worked for something? Put the cars as a prize behind an event or for completing a specific task. (Personally, I would just cut the pricess of the cars in half or something, but that’s besides the point.)

In my GT2 save, I have the Honda del sol LM. I golded the IB License in that game specifically to get that car. It felt like I truly earned it because I had to push my driving skills to get gold. On the other hand, these ridiculously high-priced cars have never improved the experience for me or made me want to play more and Forza is also guilty of this. All it does is make me not want to even bother with them. They’re nothing but a time sink.

What I want to know is why they cap the Credits at 20,000,000  It doesn't make any sense. It just seems stupid :dunce:, no other racing game does that, that I know of.

If they're gonna put a price like that up the credit limit to 50,75 or 100 mil instead, so we can buy these cars.

A Shelby Cobra is 2,000,000 but a Jag & Ferrari at 20 mil, yea I know there "race cars" but so is the Cobra.

Do they know how long it takes to get to 20 mil a Real Long Time!!!

So PD Please fix this.
You are so right Brewguy44, it doesn't make any sense on why PD put these two cars at 20 million each.
The Jag & Ferrari should be around the 10 million mark, and the 20 mil cap should be at 50 million credit cap. We are getting more cars sometime in March, so I hope PD does put the credit cap to 50 million in the next update and that is the sensible way to go :).

Wouldn't mind for those two to be priced at 5, maybe 6 mils, but PD trolling us with 20mils in game where is much harder to get cache is really absurd... luckily I did grind cache before...

It does seem high in comparison to other vehicles but it's a goal to work to. Knowing my luck I will buy one then the very next day win one in the daily cycle! However, I do think they could have implemented the daily bonuses like 5 and 6 had and allow gift cars to be sold. It would just take away the sting and stop a bit of the moaning!
