new a-spec idea for GT6

In GT 6 a-spec I would love to see individual ‘’websites’’ for each course.

Also links to their real life websites

On this website you can select different events, that you need to pay for in credits, and book events into the future that then appear on the in game calendar. Also:

Each course, has a live webcam, that can show cars racing around at course. Maybe showing who is driving that course on line, in different types of races, at the present time.

The history of each course

Descriptions of each section of the course

Open forum for each course, where people can live stories, comments and advice for the course

Pictures left by people and historical photos

Gifting drive days to friends, on selected dates in the future

Free drive days, for already tuned cars

Paid drive days from in game credits, with a free garage for on course tuning, day/night driving, all favourite cars available to drive from the garage, special time trials and ability to take photos

Buy annual passes to the course (using in game credits) for all the above, and access to videos of the course, ability to watch in game events (off line and on line) and online time trial records, back stage tour of the course , able to buy in game merchandise, co-pilot rides, vehicle rental,

Special events, that can be booked for future participation, not the same on each course though, such as:

Suzuki swift days, VW Golf days, Nissan GTR day, Ferrari day, Aston Martin days

Training days that are similar to license events or special events

Festival of driving days, where diiferent cars can be driven, or watched from the stands or pit lane etc. Cars that can be viewed from many different angles, with their history, their off line records that you have done. Online records for worldwide for that course. Several short time trials to take part in , with online records (for 1 day only!, with prizes!)

Any other ideas please!

I like it! But it doesn't sound like something in PD's development DNA. Special events is where they did unique call outs.

You my friend want exactly what I do, a more connected and integrated racing and heritage experience through GT.

I undestand, this is a scenario I would like. Some of the ideas may not of work, or others could be added. But as this is a driving game, not just a racing game. I think PD needs to look more specifically at individual circuits. The uniqueness of each circuit and its strengths, highlights and difficult parts of the circuit, all under different types of cars and circumstances. Also importantly its history, thats what makes a circuit a living thing!

Further, they put so much time into pitstops, some flag rules and series formats seems like reasonable progression. The history of grand am and laguna seca go hand in hand so it would support a more historical and current racing format, with "driving" through those formats in different cars could be like a historically educational and deeply meaningful end user experience.

At Laguna Seca, there could also be a 'race and rods gathering'. Races include: picks up. corvetts, camaros, Fords, GM muscle cars, street cars, roadsters. The winners of these races, getting unique in game awards, such as patches, post cards, car logos, unique car colours, unique tyre rims, helmets, jackets and pants

Like your sarcasm, I see it, but with 4277 posts already in that category, things definetely get lost there! This was a specific issue, about the circuits, their history and their specific events. Feel free to be constructive my friend

Well, sorry to be rude, but that is the thread for ideas. What makes you think your idea is special enough to warrant its own thread? If everyone did that, we'd be knee deep in threads surrounding the same things.

Well, the interest was high enough to bring you here. And what a fine interplay of users sharing and expanding an idea cooperatively... Your welcome to join in or go said thread.

And to be fair, this is its own thread and now is the time to share thoughts based on new findings or a lack of details... Not like this place is all that busy anyway...

Some of us need something to pass the time... Go police a medical forum so people can find information that might save a life.

No offense, just stay on topic or leave. It not likely we are going to have an epiphany from your note...

Some sort of integration into something like Ragetank.com would be cool! They are also thinking about partnerships with tracks but its a network for real racers...

Plus with a month until release, would you really expect such an idea to be taken onboard - it could have better been suggested about two years ago :sly:

So true! But in the absence of real material to discuss, yet we want talk about, we invent stuff...

What's weird is years ago people found flags and strange Logic that suggests PD seemed to have played with the idea of proper racing rules.

Maybe it wasn't fun in sp focus tests, but online? That would work great!

I kind of like this idea, it would make GT feel more connected to the racing world and it would be a welcome change of pace from the way A-spec events have been structured. The only issues I can see is that it might get complicated when it comes to championship-style events that go from circuit to circuit, and it would suck trying to navigate a website, fake website or anything structured like that with an analog stick. I also don't think the game should charge you for going on a track day - that's too realistic if you ask me. Those are minor gripes though, and outside of that I think it would create a lot more interest in the circuits and their histories, and it would definitely make single player more interesting.

I'm guessing you'll have to wait for GT7/PS4 for something like this to be even possible but my concern about PD is, they can't get the core issues right and I'd like them to work on AI, Career Modes both online and offline, sounds!!!!, damage, FFB etc. etc. etc before they go putting resources into bells and whistles like this. The core of the game is falling behind other sims with the release of each new game and they've got to get that right or they are going to begin to have their market share chipped away at with some competition on PS4 and XBone and PC sims.

I am really sorry to have offended someone, because I started a new thread. I have a family and bills to pay, this is just some light relief. I did think it warrant a new thread, if you didn't, my apologies. I'm new here and probably will leave now, can't be bothered to offend people. and sorry I didn't think of the idea 2 years ago.and why would PD take any notice of me anyway. BUT I like to dream and this idea was a new focus and unique to any racing idea in any game. ps All of my suggestions would be free to the user, just using credits that are won by racing

I love gran turismo games, and have played them since playstation 1 , and still play Gran Turismo 2 sometimes. That game had some unique ideas over Gran Turismo 1, so why not GT6

I completely agree but we sort of have to accept that the GT series samples with everyone, master nothing beyond visuals and quite good physics for a console game.

But as a real racer and game developer, the damage I'm not as keen on. Crashing and damage is instant game over and not real conducive to seamless gameplay.. But rub marks and failures like flats from bumps would be welcome. There just isn't any gameplay value to actual terminal crashing... But using other cars as walls is not acceptable... At least loose all traction or blackout the driver for a few seconds... But recovering from spins is nearly as terminal and requires a reset in most instances.

But! AI really needs to spice up and why they can't modify older versions of GT that were a bit better is beyond me! They just need more situational awareness and enough logic to switch splines.

Racing is more about denying the fastest line than it is about going fast... So often we are forced into less than ideal racing or passing lines... The AI should reflect that.

Sounds? Yes sir... Absolutely... Or just take more of the rear view audio and put it in the cockpit... You really don't hear the engine without/over exhaust unless its the transmition or forced induction... Neather drowning out the exhaust.

Tazz, your fine. This is just an old community. You just need to hold your own... Racers defend their line, not yielding to the other driver... Even if they are faster...

Stick around, don't be like the AI! :)
