New DLC Free Car and Update 2.02

Two questions...

1. Will the first set of DLC cars now be available to purchase from the NCD? Yamauchi hinted at this a while back.

2. Can you Race Modify the five new cars?

Definally looking forward to the GT-86,Scirocco and the Golf , not so fussed over the GTR & Mini, hopefully we can RM them but i doubt it.

As for the update:
Improved racing sounds - Sound is one area GT5 is definally lacking and its great they are trying to improve it.
Change standard car wheels - I thought this feature would ever come and now that's its here I can see myself spending many many hours changing the wheels of my 200+ standard cars :)

Overall great update once again:tup:👍

For those asking about the previous DLC cars availability in the dealerships:

"The blog post also confirms the Toyota 86 will be available for free in the 2.02 update, and the previous batch of DLC will now be available on all the user accounts of a PlayStation 3 console (they can be purchased from their respective dealers within the game)"

I must assume that the new DLC cars would also be available for purchase from the dealerships as well. 👍

I enjoy this game a great deal. I will gladly shill out the $4 for the new cars and I have spent more hours than I care to share playing this game for under $80 to this point. However, I am slightly let down by the new DLC. I assumed the first set of DLC set the standard of 15 cars, 2 tracks and extra stuff (paints, gear, etc).

Excellent. Thanks for the post. I failed to read all of the finer print.

So you don't want the car pack because most of the cars are variations of cars already in the game, but then you turn around and say that they could have included more cars by making variations of what we're getting?

The point is that while they were at it, since they're already bringing variations (model year versions) of existing Premium cars, they could have made the thing more interesting by also bringing different engines (diesel engines for example, that's something I would have liked to see. Golf GTD anyone? Or even a plain TDI version), transmissions and trims (what if I don't want a souped up Mini, Scirocco or Golf?), adding somewhat more variety to a dull and unoriginal DLC selection, with little effort.

Edit: And people complaining over spending $4 is ridiculous. That will hardly buy you a proper meal now days. I only have $20 to spare over the next 3 weeks and $4 of it is going towards this DLC, and you don't see me complaining.
This argument is ridiculus. It's not about the absolute price, it's the relative price (to the content).
Or, if you prefer, the bang for the buck.

This. 👍 I was expecting more, but beggars can't be choosers I suppose...

This is all great news.. but ANOTHER GTR!!!! i know it's alot faster then the GTRs we have now, but honestly.. Im getting right fed up with this

Since it's only 5 cars, I wonder if maybe they'll all, or at least a couple of them, have RMs.
If you can RM them, to me, it's worth 5x what I am paying.
I've been wanting a Mini racecar for a while now.

[English tweet:] The release of the next GT5 update, DLC, and Christmas present is coming next week.

What EXACTLY does this mean? GT5 update, meaning patches and improvements to features already in the game, and DLC, meaning the cars for download, I get. But the CHRISTMAS PRESENT is the item I don’t think I fully grasp. Has it been mentioned on Sony’s blog or is it something PD hasn’t even talked about, like say there actually IS a new track coming or something else significant?

The X-Mas present is the Toyota (or Lexus....whatever), and the tickets for 10 free oil changes, washes, and both rebuilds. You'll get them when you update.

Though it could be the total car refresh tickets you get for the present, and the tickets I mention above you get for buying any of the first DLC. It's one way or the other.

1. Yes
2. I hope so

I'm just epically psyched about new wheels for standards, it will be interesting to see how it's implemented. The 'improved sound effects' is really exciting, but i don't think I'll be getting my hopes up just yet...

Cracking update and DLC. I'm not too fussed about the Mini, but the GT-R and the VWs are all welcome!

And changing wheels on standards! YES! So excited! Wonder how it'll be implemented though.

I agree the previous DLC car pack was much better value, but $1 per car is still good value. Some companies would happily charge you $1 for an extra set of clothes or an extra gun.

We got 4 dlc gt-r, 1 gt-academy gt-r and 1 n24h gt-r since they released GT5.

This game already had about 60 gt-r/skylines before.

I really thought that PD would stop copy pasting these cars in the premium car list. Kaz himself said that they overdid it in the past.

I definitly won`t buy this DLC. The last car pack was pathetic enough, now we get 3 cars which have been in this game already + 1 new one for 4$/€.

Im sure that Kaz/PD/Sony will call this the "european car pack".

With a "Aventador DLC" they would make alot more money. Hell, by the time GT6 releases with that car, it won`t be that special anymore because it will be several years old + already starring in other games (NFS, Forza).
Releasing it now would atleast sell +1 mio DLC.

I was playing GT5 earlier this day and I was thinking "man, I would really like to drive the Scirocco R ..." and tadaaah; well, I should have rather thought of a new track, eh?

I look at it like I'm paying $4 and getting 5 cars, a Kart, wheels for my standard cars, and much more. Sure you're actually paying that $4 for the 4 cars, but the money ends up in the same place anyway. To the people who working their ass off giving us these wonderful updates.

That's bang for the buck right there.

If people lower their standards by finding acceptable $1 for an extra set of clothes or a gun, it won't take too long until (GT6?) $4.99 will be the price for a single DLC car in GT.

That's reaching.
$4 for 4 cars.
Everything else is "free". You can't call it something it isn't. I like the game too, but don't just make stuff up.

Actually, one thing I feel they should do is premium-ize some of the standard cars like they said they'd do a few months back. Looking forward to that

If that happens, I'm sure PD will quickly realise their mistake after hardly anyone forks out the $4.99 for another GT-R with another set of fairy lights. :yuck:

Sweeet! Now I can put wheels on my '04 MX-5! Try and make it look a little more like my real life car.

Too bad there will most likely never be a '04 Mazdaspeed Miata. Not much of a demand for that, plus, too many Miatas already. :sly:
