Or a positive opinion for that matter 👍

Show me where someone was berated for having a positive opinion on the DLC? Because all I've seen are people being negative getting berated and told in various ways to stop moaning/stop posting badly about PD. I haven't seen anyone say they like the DLC being told to stop being so nice to PD or to stop posting positively.

 It's a 🤬 game! What's there to be taken seriously?

Yet you spend plenty of time discussing it here on a dedicated forum for what you regard as a trivial matter not to be taken seriously.
Everyone here (I assume) knows it's only a videogame and everywhere outside this forum you won't find as much in depth discussion about these admittingly trivial matters but in this context you chose to participate in, you honestly are surprised it's taken seriously?
Relatively speaking obviously.

Maybe because when we joined, it was because we love GT and are fans of it?

Jeez, people. Just because we're disappointed with something in GT5 doesn't mean we hate Gran Turismo. I joined before GT5 came out so I certainly didn't join to criticize PD.

Exactly, we're all passionate about the game, every one's just gotta consider this point and everything else just becomes ******** attitude.

I'm not sure what's worse, people attacking people, attacking the DLC, or people just attacking the DLC.

For the former, they have the right to complain, remember back in November 2011*? We were all expecting DLC every 2 months, whether that meant 8 weeks or 60-70 days, we had a ballpark in mind. Now we've had 3 Car Packs, and its been 10 months. They have a right to want more DLC, and be dissappointed that this DLC is basically nothing but new skins.

For the latter, we're (sort of) lucky they aren't just dropping GT5 right now and devoting their small company 100% onto GT6, with the amount of time GT5 took to make, GT6 could be as long, or longer, so the fact we're getting anything means hopefully by November/December-ish time, we may be up for as many as 8 new cars and a couple of tracks, and a few of those 8 cars might even be unique. So I say, fingers crossed, don't like it don't buy it, its a slight shame that a heap of us, myself included, won't pay money for these cars, but ultimately it won't make the game any worse for us, and for those who do, they get a BRZ skin for their FT-86, and maybe the suspension tune and gear ratio differences as well.

You argued & thrashed like a killer whale on dental floss, when I said I was happy to have cars, regardless of sound.

Hmmm, happy to have more cars = positive. Then, everyone freaked out, because there was a gaijin, someone who wasn't assimilated into the "complaint crowd."

About the bolded, I don't think anyone seriously expected that. Kaz said "maybe", and I believe most people learned to not to take everything he says seriously, otherwise you're just setting yourself for disappointment. Kaz says a lot of things which rarely become true, I thought we all knew better than that. But apparently not.

As for why we're still here maybe it's because we still care about the GT series as a whole and want it to get better. That isn't going to happen by everyone who has negative opinions walking away and leaving all the yes men to give feedback to PD.

You ended that post by asking "who cares about sound?". People that care about sound responded.

If the sound on the HSV isn't right, I'm not buying the DLC either. In the past I bought all the DLC's just because, but now it's a point of principle for me. If I decide to enter a series where I need one of the DLC cars I'll get it, other than that forget it.

Can't wait for Project Cars...lol. The cars, the tracks are just incredible.

But it's not about car sounds right?
There's two camps, people that are sick of PD not striving to improve what they've made and those who are happy to take what they can get and just get on with . We get it, why does this thread need to continue to devolve just to prove that point? And no, I'm not blaming you, I'm just saying.

Realize that all of us want to see GT improve and be the best, or else we wouldn't be here. Some of us are just more patient. But on that same token, only the loud complainers are being really heard so in a sense those of us who are more patient should thank the restless people that won't shut up, otherwise PD would become complacent and despondent (even more so). We just all need to learn to get on with each other a little better.

Vacuums, heh.
Nice one Eddie. 👍 (Quoted the whole thing so it has more chance of being noticed ;))

Aren't we all on the same side? This circular debate/argument serves no purpose other than further irritation and endless opportunities for pedantic one-upmanship. Give it a rest.

Ok imagine this thread was devoid of any negative comments about the sound of the HSV. Nothing but positive comments. If for arguments sake we say PD do read it, how does that help them to make things better? It just looks to them that everyone is satisfied.

So, attack people? Some of us like PD. Better than EA (we like big, heavy rear ends... & Porsches). Better than Codemasters (oh, the game's 2 years old? Shut down the servers)

So, excuse me while I just stand up for those who get steam-rolled...

If you want better sounds, politely e-mail Kaz. Otherwise, something like "wow, a nice looking car, but the sound is incorrect" is better than creating arguments to get your petty point across.

copy-paste from the F1 cars in the game would not help. The HSV doesn't even have the same sound onboard as it does from the outside.

That'd be handled by the separate "engine" samples, which are always more prominent in the interiors in GT5.

I don't think there are two camps, it's much more nuanced than that even though it might not appear as such (and people assuming there are only two camps makes it worse), there's a whole grey area between those only complaining and those only defending whatever decision PD makes and in this case it really is about the car sounds, and in this case (although I'll reserve my final judgement after I tried the HSV) I think based on the video provided some criticism is justified.

Who created arguments? Those posting that we weren't happy? No, those who decided we shouldn't post those opinions. If you and other people didn't slam us for the negative opinions there wouldn't be any arguments.

I posted my opinion. "Meanwhile, in worse games..." comment.

Everyone freaked out... "Oh no! He doesn't agree with us! Send him to a Siberian mine! Kulak!" ... Because you guys, with your perfect world "Polyphony Digital reads every thread on GTPlanet & will see this thread, and will act upon it" had someone who would damage your immeasurable progress towards a better sounding car.

I'm entitled to my opinion, as you say so often, and this hatred is getting nowhere.

You must have a short memory. Here, let me remind you how you ended that comment:

Meanwhile, in worse games, like Ridge Racer, people wish they had GT5 sounds. Stop complaining, your royal highnesses.

I rest my case.

 Its like the dark ages all over again....

PDists
AntiPDists
NonantiPDists
GT4stics
GT5sucksists
Forzarites
Prophysicsantisoundons
Church of Turismo

Its not about positive or negative comments towards GT5, PD... its about the reaction and counter reaction that attempts to silence anyone with an opinion you don't agree with. There are some simple facts about GT5 that are above debate but that's not what this thread illustrates or discusses - this is simply a great example of a community in conflict over the individual right to have and express an opinion.
