Technology wise, no. The audio of vehicles are just digital samples, you could theoretically replace them with any sound you like and they're at a high enough quality that digital compression shouldn't be an issue. There is also plenty of space on a Blu-Ray disc.
It's all down to how they record the samples from the real car and then how they manipulate them in the game. Somewhere they're going very wrong in that process. But again that isn't even the case here, here it's clear that if they did take microphones and record a HSV we're not hearing it, we're hearing a sample from another car.
Whilst true we've not heard it at the high end the base sample is not going to magically change. It's still completely wrong.

Don't you every stop complaining. You don't like the DLC, don't buy it. Don't like GT5 then sell it. Don't like the fact that there are people that actually like GT5....Well thats just tough.
Noone has forced anything regarding GT5 on you. The only thing thats forced is that we have to sit here and listen to you constantly bitching a thousand times over.
Give us all a break and just disappear will you. 4k posts on and the level of pettiness from you is getting boring.

Which is what, exactly? Please don't say those that post negative opinions because that isn't the problem. The problem is those that want to rid the forum of said negative opinions.
I did nothing of the sort. The people that turned it into a feud were those that couldn't deal with negative comments. Don't like what i'm posting? Put me on ignore, I don't care. I will still continue to post what I think about things though, as I'm entitled to.

It's generally the over-defending of the game and the over-criticism of the game, in other words, both sides of the argument.
Some people do make GT5 to be way too much than it is. But at the same time, a lot hit it down a bit too hard.
It's why I don't get involved in stuff like this. I'm neutral with GT5, personally.

Wrong, I can pu him on ignore but you can guarantee that someone will quote him.
The guy tries to turn every single thread into an argument and as C-ZETA pointed out, a GT5 defender will always bite. He turns entire threads, pages at a time (even ones with good idea's) into cluster****s
Someone with genuine complaints are a good thing, he just acts like a stealth troll.

*Chuckles again* Well. I had my look at this thread again and *Chuckles* is it something for one to enjoy when somebody has a sad day.
If some of you are complaining about the sound and thinking people are telling you you shouldn't have gain to much hope for the HSV's sounds in the first place, and thinking people are defending PD for it, then you must be mad.
For me I wasn't defending PD for the HSV's sounds. I just knew they will screw up, that is all.

No I'm not. I want GT to suceed and get better, I wouldn't be sat here on this forum if I didn't. There are plenty of other franchises I've lost faith/interest in and left them alone, Final Fantasy for example. The last few games have been so poor I really have no desire to go onto a forum for it and post what I'd like to be different. For GT though it's different, I grew up on it like most of you did, I bought a PS3 for it specially like many people did and now at this point in time I just hope PD can improve things. If me and others posting negative feedback on their work helps even slightly i'll continue to post it.

Then maybe you should rethink about what you are posting and how you say it.
You complain about the same things in virtually every thread. We hear you, we get it. If you think though that its going to change to the kinda expectations you clearly had for the game 2 years after its release, you just have to let it go or send an e-mail to PD.

Okey... some words for those defending PD with all their love: I was on this side too.
And, after some months, I just started to see the truth: GT5 is a good game, yes it is. I play it almost daily, but it have flaws, some really bad ones. Still enjoyable, but the true is that it isn't PD's best job. Because of time, lack of personnel, whatever... they need to expand the team, open their minds a bit.
I expect all DLC and updates with my hopes up. I'm usually optimistic and I love PD work but this is just MADNESS.
MADNESS. Why they didn't took any V10 sample and put on the HSV? Anything V10-a-like would be better than what they did!
Only 3 cars... after all this time... only 3 cars!!!!! The HSV is cool. I like the idea of having the BRZ, but another racing GTR? That's ok. But give us MORE OPTIONS.
The DLC is weak. Really, really, really weak. We need variety, and that's an emergency.
I'm a huge PD supporter. I bought all DLC until now. I bought 10 paint packs... that's 20 dollars of paint. Why they can't give us better DLC? I would spend 50 dollars in cars and tracks if they give us better options. I would do this tomorrow.
Cmon. It's hard to understand. I just wanted someone to come and say: "hey, we are working hard on GT6, it'll be released in 2013, so hold on and bear with us, ok?"

Real fans aren't those who just praise and love everything that they put on our plate. Think about it.
