Quite liking the GT-R having finally seen it. Curious how different it will drive from the older one based on how different it appears to be.

It has more power for sure, 560+hp, compared to Schulze N24 with only 49xhp, but the new GTR is based on mildly modified track pack road car, it might have worst corner speed.

From what I recall, the 2011 is essentially a full on race car prepared by a race team wherea's this year's car is prepared by the actual Nissan GT-R Development team with minimal modifications to what is a essentially a road car (based on the Track pack). So I'm thinking you should expect not as much aero grip this time around.

I guess it is a gt academy car. But was the other n24 a r35? The new one is

I felt the same way when I saw it last night. It does look strikingly different from the other ones and looks very well modeled.

As for the train that has derailed in this thread.....guys I had some really good laughs. I can always count on a thread at some point or another on GTPlanet turning into the debacle that happened here.

I for one am certainly not pleased with the sound in GT5 and after hearing the butchering of the new HSV-010 sound in the demo drive, I was crushed to say the least. It has such a distinct sound that I was hoping would sound close to the real deal.

Alas, it was not, but I have come to realize this is commonplace for how things are handled in the sound department in GT5. I only hope that for those of us that stay faithful to the series (me included), that GT6 has appropriate sound representation.

You can say all you want that sound on a car doesn't matter, but for some of the gearheads and automotive enthusiasts on this board, we would like a FULL and accurate representation of the automobiles that are included in a game that claims to be a driving simulator. I have supported GT as a series for a very long time, but there are flaws such as this one that are too big to ignore now and if they want to stay competitive in this market, things need to change ASAP for the next iteration of the franchise.

Just my two cents though. 👍

I find the 2011 N24 GTR enjoyable to drive. Hopefully the new one will be an improvement. Perhaps on weight?

I'm in PA, the cars aren't in my PSN store, but they are in the game unpurchaseable? Am I missing something?

No, they are always in the New Car Dealership after the update but can only be demoed until the PS Store updates and adds the DLC.

I believe he means that he can't find them. Have you tried using the search function in the store? This has been the case for past DLCs around release.

They could have at least made it the GT300 BRZ. Mildly excited by the HSV. I have a very long list of cars that are still missing, it's almost as if PD have no fan engagement and no interest in cars.
So far I'm hearing the changes mean handling is completely different, cars you carefully tuned and got to learn the movement of are now completely alien.. about to find out for myself.

False. I noticed that my BMW 320i Touring Car feels the exact same. :)

Because DLC isn't available yet. Try tomorrow afternoon.

No idea why you would want it though. Do you do car sounds with your mouth?
Who buys a car game for their sounds? Stop trying to be a douche. Why the need to act like you do on here?

Yes, and I said they aren't available until the store updates. The update doesn't usually occur until somewhere around 5-7 PM PDT on Tuesday and not until Wednesday for EU. They don't do a special Gran Turismo only store update.

Depends. Generally it may sound pretty decent. But, compared to its real-life counter part it is horrible.

Ok so Kaz isn't taking my money then, that it's unless I want it badly but I don't see a point of it

Crooky, the real HSV in the video is from 2010, & the GT5 HSV is from 2011. 💡

Also, no one has heard the HSV at full-tilt in GT5. Don't assume.

best post in this thread LOL so suddenly the 2010 HSV goes from an F1 sound to utter garbage in 2011? no, the car was virtually unchanged between seasons.:lol:

Oops. Forgot it gets updated on Tuesdays. :ouch:

Agreed. My NSX feels a little better if anything (ride height -25, -24) but I think it feels like it used to feel, I suspect they may have broken the handling in a previous update. Seems tires might last longer full stop, not just "in endurance races" (whatever that means) good news as I've got a 24 lap online race tomorrow.

I have to sort-of agree on noises, some cars are a bit lacking and it really could do with more turbo sucky noise, supercharger whine and purge valve wooshing. Anti-lag wouldn't go amiss either. Lumpy idles too please. It's funny how some cars have particularly distinct sounds, like the Carbon R has a lot of turbo noise and the Delta HF rally car has a fantastic exhaust note. I find a lot of cars sound better when you put them in top gear at low revs and full load, suspect part of the problem is people expect cars to sound how they sound in real life which for a lot of cars is in full load at low revs, not at high revs. Even in SuperGT they try to save their engines a little.
