NEW EXPLOIT - Tyre "healing" without stopping

Well here's one caught in the act. I wondered how I couldn't keep up one race as he didn't pit yet I wasn't gaining time. Next race he span off at the start, ended up in 17th and finished 2nd. Saved the replay, low and behold..... Watch this, cheating bar steward. Unbelievable!

Very efficiently done as well, in the slowest corner of the track.

Ok, I was thinking this before with the other exploits, but this has convinced me that there are people out there who bought GT Sport to just search for ways to cheat the system and win races with underhand tactics while ruining the fun for others. If you're not going to play properly, why play at all. I hope these accounts are banned promptly.

Wow! I wonder how PD will respond to this. In the mean time, you've got no chance of winning against a similiar paced driver if they use this exploit.

Instead of spending any time looking to ban players for pressing start during a race, I would hope they will just fix it instantly.

@Famine From your previous comments in the grip bug thread you may want to read this.
What makes you think I haven't?

...set by side my little joke up there, but it is unbelievable for me that things in todays day and age are not server side, this glitch is a proof (at least from standpoint that it is shown) that most things are done on console side, seems as server is listening to console/client, and what console says server will do.

This has nothing to do with client vs. server, this is just plain ole sloppy programming on PD's part. When they update the car after going to the options menu, they aren't saving the actual tire wear value, so it just gets set to 100%. That's my guess of course, but seems likely what's happening. Too many sloppy bugs in this game.

Big thanks to OP for finding this exploit though. PD needs to make this a priority fix. This is going to invalidate a whole FIA season if it affects those races also.

I should imagine it's an extremely small percentage of people doing this. The chances of someone doing it in a race you join is minimal. I'm going to carry on as normal and I would suggest everyone else does too.

Minimal? After I got matched with the same known grip bug driver race after race after race, I don't think it's minimal. The pool of active players isn't that big at SR.S, I see the same names every day.

It would explain a few suspiciously fast cars I have encountered in the last laps of daily C races.

Anyway I'll carry on as normal as well, don't really care about DR. As long as they pass clean on those refreshed tires it's whatever makes them happy. GR.1 is on the daily B today, that's where I'll be.

I've been debating to myself if I should take a break from sport mode or not. This just made my decision 10 times easier to make.
I like Gr3/Gr4 race B's but those hasn't been happening much lately, I've ended up doing race C and FIA races but those are out the window for now. I may just go back to iRacing or Assetto Corsa on my PC for a while, and do race B when a Gr3 or Gr4 comes up.

Brilliant now I can see how people are absolutely crushing the field in s class races
Just checked replays and even the guys down in 16th in one race can be seen doing it
Absolute nightmare now what can you do though cos I want to race but knowing how simple it is to do this trick I dunno whether everyone is doing it or no one is.
Beat them or join them?! how frustrating!

Wow! It's crazy how these people find these "bugs". Like who spends there time finding ways to cheat? But I'm glad it been brought to everyone's attention. I'm sure PD will fix it! Hopefully fast.

Honestly, I am astonished. Between this, the grip bug, the reverse pit bug, the position bug, the incorrect tyre bug, the pit freeze bug, and whatever else I missed, this game is so buggy. Unacceptable for a predominantly online game.

Thee gr3 bug is a bug;) in all seriousness though this will keep me from racing the c races.

Great finding!
I believe this bug is existed for at least a while. I remember a race before that I got 2nd and learn in replay that I lost to the winner because of much longer pit time. I never think of bug and I was assume the Porsche 991 is not efficient on fuel and I lost pit time for fuel refill. I have not used 991 since then and still trying to find another car that fit my style and competitive. Now maybe I can use the 991 again. :)

For now, I will not do race with tyre wear until this is fixed. I will just practice to compare the lap time.

Yeah, two guys did the options recovery tire wear glitch on my Tokyo Nations race, i still managed to win the race, they jumped a couple of guys and finished in 2nd and 3rd.

FIA and Slot C of sport mode are definitely compromised now.

PD has to fix this very fast.

Remember not to name and shame anyone on gtp :indiff: we don't want any unnecessary bans for fellow gtpers :)
Shaming has been demonstrated to be the most effective tool, when used correctly, at stopping bad behavior. The issue is, it strips the controlling bodies of power as its a tool used by individuals in a community. That and some people will use it in a bad manner. In this case, it would be great to expose the cheaters.

Very disappointing to see that this exists. At least it is something that can be checked for in online league races, so I don't have too much to worry about as I imagine anyone caught using this will be disqualified. Hopefully PD patches this one up sooner than later.

Hmmm. Too bad I didn't save replay but it seemed like only myself and a few others pitted in the one FIA race I made it home in time from work to enter.

Maby not related but anyone ever had it happen to him that the game would switch to PS menu during a race so you need to switch back and your in options autodrive. This happened couple times to me and even ruined some of my races and others because you dont ghost in options. It didnt open options menu or refresh my tires though i think i would have noticed on feel alone.
