New GT-R Seasonal Time Trial

Finally nailed a .1 last section!!! I also made a 42.7xx!! T2 Time!!! Was due to my T1 though as that was a 21.610 :D! Which is pretty hot :D! Just a shame I redlined it on the chicane...

Basically my mind set now is just to focus on the last sector and constantly nail .1's that way I should eventually nail one of these laps :)!

And not even a hint of a response from the GTPL guys after my .217 lap, maybe the're a alittle disheartened now, GTP FTW!

A response from the GTPL norbi, but a fleating one at best, 1'31.390, which does knock Tidge back a spot, get it back and maybe leap frog 2 more in the process, only a half a tenth away from achieving that.

Come on Dan, you know better than to belittle other people or other teams like that. I know there's a hint of humour in there, but still for some it may not give the best impression of maybe the fastest time trialer in GTP. Just a friendly comment, not trying to be an a**.

Good job on the time anyway, as I said earlier already. 👍

Always humour in my posts, almost fueling the fire of the TT so to speak, also enjoyed that little almost race session we had when you were practicing for the 24h race, did you happen to work out the best car tire combination? The Raybrig seemed to chew the tires alot.

Few more hours this evening and I'm up to a 32.5. Quite happy with that for my first day :D

I've never been an alien so I don't know about getting near the top 10, but if I break into the 31's I'll be delighted. The car itself is becoming more fun to drive the more time I spend with it too. Having to change your driving style completely is a nice little curveball. Would like to see more of that in future competition TT's.

I don't think I broke the 1'32.5 after my first day, super pace! What wheel do you have an to everyone, what feedback strength do you use? I stuck with 3 a while ago.

Thats exactly what I thought when I read his post. Just another elitist team guy that thinks his **** don't stink. I'm not the best out there and I don't like having it rubbed in, either directly or indirectly. I admire your speed Dan, but will lose respect for you with comments like that.

Read into it what you will, all it was was simply a bit of trash talk.

Well, it seems to me that you think your better than anyone else. I know I'm just the little guy here, but its elitist thinking people like you that gives teams a bad name. Not jealous as I will get there myself sometime and won't have to lose any sleep doing it. And just a word of advice, people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Not defending or anything but you're very wrong.
Dan Holland is deffo in top 5 GT5 players worldwide and possibly the fastest on GTPlanet, so if he wants to act as if he's better than everyone - let him be, since he is.

And good for him. So, in your eyes, its alright for him to rub everyone's elses nose in it?? That makes you just as elitist as he is then. You guys make me sick in how you act. You didn't see Jimmie Johnson (NASCAR driver, 5 championships) acting that way. He was very humbled to be in the spot he was in. Thats a true champion, and he isn't even one of my favorite drivers. Just admire the way he carried himself and respected him for that. Like I said, be careful when placing yourselves on that pedestal.

Are we done with the public whizzing match? I'd like to see posts on topic to see how I'm doing against the others on here (no matter how poorly), please. If you gents/ladies want to do so, please do the rest of us a favor and take it to a PM so we don't need to read it. Thank you.

Back on topic; I've been practicing and I can't get inside of 1'37 with a DS3. I wish a wheel wasn't so expensive, as I know I'd be more competitive. Anyone on here with a DS3 inside of 1'36/1'35?

I still don't get it...all my splits are pretty decent except my t2 splits. I just lose so much time there and have no clue how to improve on it.

I have a 1'36.747 on the stick. 1041 in the Americas region. I have no idea how that ranks against other DS3 users, however.

I think I read that Tidge wrapped up a 1'34.xxx on the DS3 so that will be my target.

Argh! Last night I was constantly .7 up on my T1 and couldn't hold it all the way to the end - should've been in the 1:33s by now, but had to settle for 1:34.283, good enough for 822 in uk region. Determined to carry the rest of that time through tonight.

I have put in a 1:33.818 lap, witch I am fairly happy with. This puts me at 577 in the world-wide rankings atm.

I recon I am capable of shaving off the .8/.9 and do a lap close to 1:32.9XX if I keep practicing.

I am using a G27, bumper cam and all aids off(ABS1).

It really amazes me to race against the ghost to GTP_DHolland. He is just so incredible fast.

I was actually racing online the other day and Dan came in to the room joining us. I got all starstruck;) Good racing thou, and he is fast online also!

I got 1'34.9xx with sixaxis earlier in this seasonal, before I lost interest.

Cheers Dan, but to be fair I had your lap to look at. That's provided me with some much needed motivation to push for a better time though. Got Dentist this afternoon for 3 fillings and a good dose of anesthetic so probabaly won't play later.

Like I said before I use a DFGT that likes to press the PS and select button randomly when I'm turning it aggressively. It's a known fault with some batches of the wheel. Also, as you all know, the pedals are terrible so I use a bungie strap across the back of them to give some resistance. Not ideal either as sometimes the brake pedal thinks its being pressed 1% even if I'm not touching it. Not gonna blame my tools though.

I plan on getting a G25 of G27 over christmas when I get a bit of money together.

As for feedback, I've left it at the default setting. I may change this when I need to start finding more time.

Good Banter is always fun in TT's fires up competition :D.

As for FFB I use FFB of 1 on my G25 (Mainly so im used to them at GT Academy, as there on very low), and on simulation :). Although if I even smell a GT Academy 2012 on the horizon Ill also be buying a dfgt :)!

Ill be on tonight after football.

I find watching the fastest replays makes me go faster as you know what to do then without as much trial and error. If you did not do this TT until the leaderboards matured, your raw pace would definately be faster on this TT.

I use 3 like you. 1, I find makes the feedback communication to me fraction too late, 2 tries to be the best of 1 and 3 but fails. 3 seems to nail it for me.

I don't see it as elitist, it is giving other guys extra motivation which makes it a more competitive TT and I think that was Dan's intentions.

I can't go faster than 1:37, and also I think less than it seems to be out of reality, meanning, by seeing the the guy that hit 1:31, occur me that a normal car would had the tyres blow out in the first corner ( but I not taking out his merits, on the contrary; this guys took everything what he got out and what he doesn't got to hit that mark ).
The car is quite nice, though, but sometimes quite histeric, and the track, well, could be more fair ( mean, less complex ) to level pad user and wheel users.

I believe my best is 1'35.4. I use a Sixaxis pad.

With a pad I am down (after much practice) to a 35.09. Seem to have hit a brick wall now although my best sector times suggest a high 34 is on. For those who can't get out of the 38's or 37's or 36's keep trying, analyse your laps, try different lines and different gears in the turns etc. Took me along while to realise I could do turn 1 in 5th rather than 4th & then hold 5th for next 3 turns - this bought me alot of time.

I haven't been able to give this TT too much time yet, but a couple of weeks ago I got a redlined 1:33:7 ish (redlined from the lap before), and my fastest registered lap is a low 1:34. If I can give it another shot this weekend I'll try and save a replay for a 1:33:xxx lap with the pad, and also try and offer some tips for anyone who's struggling.

Bit to tired tonight, will have a go tomorrow before christmas party.

My aim is to nail a .2 or .1, then ill switch to the pad and annihilate some pad times :)!

Found some time to do a quick 10 lap stint with the controller today, managed to do a 1:33 lap again, but without redlining it this time! :)

I got two 1:33:8's today actually, only two laps apart of each other, but stupidly redlined the quicker of the two :(. I saved the replay though and will upload it for any other Pad users who are struggling to get a good time.

If anyone would like to use my replay as a ghost, just sand me a friend request and I'll send the file over PSN.

As for the potential best time for the pad, judging by my sector time's I'd say a 1:33.1 wouldn't be impossible, but would require a lot more practice

Dan.

PS: is there anywhere I can go to see the US leaderboard for this TT? Cheers.
