New GT-R Seasonal Time Trial

My own, lol. I always follow and try to beat my own ghost but I have it switched off and just glance at the triangles. Maybe I should switch ghosts because that is the only thing I have done different today was change ghosts.
EDIT: Your ghost is way too fast for me to follow, lol. I have studied your replay tho and thats what I keep referencing. Congrats on taking the lead back btw. Great lap.

On a side note I just did a better time. Not the top 10 but the best of the Irish for now ;)

Y U RUB IT IN DESSY ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

Congratulations on going above PR1VATEJ0KER.

Do you guys hate me or what? lol
Dessy always beats me. :(
Nice Lap also dude

We should race, over the christmas holidays, just for fun. I suck at racing

thanks! Keep at it! I'm terribly incosistent at times so there'll be periods where I get NOTHING in a two hour session. Then all of a sudden, i'd have spurts where I would hit my personal bests. Patience is the key ;)

And it's definitely the ghost, because as soon as I switched from my ghost, all was good.

Wow, nice time lator-illa!

Maybe tomorrow after work I would try to get a place between all the canadian guys.

I forget the first place :grumpy:

Congratulations

Yea, your right, it was the ghost. I switched to my next fastest ghost and it was fine. Good news tho, after a two hour session, I improved to 88th on the board with a time of 1:33.289. I am friggin happy as hell with that considering I've only been doing road courses for about two months now and this only my second TT. Alot of these guys have been doing this type of racing forever. I'm just a rookie and here I am knocking at the door of GT5's best so, hell yea I'm happy as all get out with my progress. It hasn't been easy tho, I guaran-damn-tee ya that!!

thank you sir. But i'm sure someone will one-up me sooner or later.

Probably going to give it one more crack in a couple of days in an attempt to secure a mid .1, trying or hoping for anything better than this is wishful thinking.

Thankyou for that 👍 :)

Looks like nobody on there has beaten my pad time yet, unfortunately it's impossible to tell if anyone on the Euro leaderboards has gone faster (Unless anyone knows of a way). Surely there's got to be someone out there who can go faster?... Tidgney?? :)

The British version here includes all Euro, Australasian and Middle Eastern times: http://eu.gran-turismo.com/gb/products/gt5/event/d38079.html

How to find it:

Go to www.gran-turismo.com
Select country (this determines which group of TT results you get)
On the right-hand side is a GT5 Seasonal Events box. Select the TT from there.

If it's any consolation it took you 3 - 4 days to get your time and it took me 4 - 5 :P

Alright, thanks, I'll go see if I can find it. Thanks for responding back.

Hey,did you find it in the end mate? or at least get the problem sorted? And I've gotta say, amazing times considering how long you've been track racing for! 👍

Thanks, yeah I figured there's be a similar one for the European times, but unfortunately It's impossible to tell the fastest pad times from this as it only shows the top 250 :guilty: 👎

I'll quote an earlier post of mine... not that it really helps!

I had a look through users placed 190 - 250. All of them are wheel users.

I saw here that GTP_Tidgney did a 1:34.0XX with the pad but I have no idea how much time was invested. At present, no. 250 in the top 250 is a 1:33.0XX. I don't think it possible for a pad user to enter the top 250.

Anyone here using the pad, and if so what is your time?

Yea, I did. I changed ghosts and it solved the problem. Thanks. And thank you for the compliments, I really appreciate it. Don't mean to sound over enthusiastic, but I'm just happy with my progress, thats all. If I go overboard with it, just tell me to shut the hell up, lol.

What's ya time on it

Edit: nevermind I saw it...nice time I got 1.36 with a ds3...what setup you have?

Ill be playing on my wheel till Sunday or a .1 appears which ever comes first then ill go on the pad for the remaining. Bit tired today though as I only had like 4-5 hours sleep.

Feel a bit better to hear Tidgney & Saidur get red times on their laps, as it takes me maybe 10 laps to get in the groove. Yesterday was no good, just couldn't connect with the car after a 10 day rest. But today managed a 1:34.2, but even on that lap played too safe at the chicane and final corner, should of let it run closer to the grass, for a 33 time. Tomorrow maybe?

Don't worry, everyone is redlining decent laps ;). If you are using a wheel, try and pick up some things from the fastest downloadable laps. You should get to 33 zone soon 👍.

Did a quick session on this again, managed to beat my time again, but again approaching T4 had very little advantage over the ghost, probably less than half a tenth and I made it all up in the last sector. I use a slower ghost as reference. I've been going up to the same spot a good 3-4 tenths up, and I usually make 3 tenths up on T4 so there is good potential but I happen to always mess up T4 when I'm on a good lap.

noooo just missed out on 2nd by 6 thousandths :(.... Still can see time :)! Nailed a good sector 2 (I think its a low 21 dead will have to double check).... Damn so close!

Edit: Nope still a quite high 21 dead... Checked splits now.

Sector 1:21.756 (Tenth and a bit still Available)
Sector 2:21.086 (PB)
Sector 3:16.193 (Tenth Still Available)
Sector 4:32.231 (Tenth Still Available)

Doesn't matter, you said you won't be happy until you get a .1XX at a minimum :sly:.
I want to see someone do a sub 31 so don't let me down ;) .
Congratulations on your new time 👍.

GTP 1-2 is on the cards at the moment but there most likely be a last day dash.

Hehe true enough, I have until Sunday then im switching to the pad to see what I can do on that :P. Was nice having a day off today and tomorrow with car being fixed can chill out and managed to put 2 stints in got it on my second :). Ill have another stint in abit :), see what I can do. FFB 3 is helping me on the chicane thats for sure, and just general consistency on each corner. I am just getting into the FFB:3 now. I could do the times on FFB 1 but it was much more 'vague' on consistency, have better feeling with this setup so thanks again Dan and Saidur for sharing :).

edit: My second stint wasn't going to well with the last sector as I was trying to focus on making sure I was getting .1's but to no avail (Was only getting .3's and .4's again) so switched tactic with the chicane to what Dan and GTPL are using 3rd to 4th switch soon brought me back on it, with 4 .3's :)! So hopefully tomorrow that magical .1 will appear. I forgot im out in Scunthorpe on Friday and Darlington Saturday lol, so much time for GT this weekend.... Good job next weeks im off from work :D! Nice thing about working at a college :).

I'd say I'm done with this TT. No point talking about the countless could haves or nearly laps as they didn't happen in the end, so I'll settle for getting into the 31's which was my goal. Good luck to those of you who are still improving. :)

Good job Tidge with the .266;) A reasonably significant improvement form your previous best time. Taking a break from GT untill probably Saturday or Sunday ish.

Good job Tidgney, I saw you appear online, while I was there yesterday, thought you may have the same day off. I managed 5/10th's off my time to break back into high 700's. Just hope to make a top 1000 position, as I have only been using wheel & manual box for 3 weeks. Checked my splits & there is more to be had, but getting the best sector times all in a row is tough stuff. Only 2 days off work left. Maybe one more push for me. Thanks to Saidur and Martin for tips.

Cheers, and im glad they helped.

Had a little go this morning (Second day off ftw :D!) and first lap i nailed a 31.5xx which was suprising to say I had only 1 cup of tea :P. Nailing alot more 32.1's in last sector to now :). Ended up with another load of 1:31.3's,.4's and .5's so will have another go in a bit :).

Looking forward to see if you improve at the weekend Dan :)!

Nice Lap Tidgney! you're damn fast 👍

Had about 30 laps today, did about 15 red laps, but started finding my way around the track again, got a couple of 1:32.2xx and 1:32.1xx.

Will try again soon, I think I can get 1:31.6xx, as I have been coming into last section 3 and 4 tenths down on Dan. Hopefully relearn that difficult section and get a little lucky

Hehe cheers :) all practice for next GT Academy with the wheel and such.

Keep at that last section, try let SRF do some of the braking in the first part, and I've started doing what Dan and a few others are doing which is a quick switch to 3rd and back to 4th gives a nice turn in to the car :).

Im stopping for today did another stint, 1 .2, 4.3's and the rest all above those. I thought I had a .1 earlier but messed up last chicane, was close to my 42.7 in T2 again, was a .810 though... Basically now its about nailing that sector 1 (As Sector 2 is quite easy for me anyway, seems to be my best section), sector 3 is all about the angle into that hairpin, i've just started using the faster approach in of hitting 130-131 again. And that last sector if I can just nail a low .1 or even a .0 on that last sector I'll shout loud lol!
