New GT-R Seasonal Time Trial

Great time my friend, you're doing quite well for being a Nascar guy:P (Thats a compliment)

Thanks MAC, appreciate the compliment. And yea, the transition from NASCAR is not an easy one, but I am determined to make it happen.

1'31.217 is the time to beat. .965 t3 and then a perfect right, arrived at chicane, panic, missed apex but lost .1 only. .8 t3 doable, but gonna need alot more laps

Nice on dan! Big Congratz ill check your lap out now. Won't be doing much tonight got 4 hours sleep lol.... So rather tired!

Incredible lap Dan. Same to you Tidgney. I'm looking at these youtube clips and try to replicate your lines and throttle, and just can't seem to do it. I'm stuck at 1:32 and can't seem to find the extra tenth to go below it. I can't even comprehend you guys consistently running .4's and .5's.

Cheers :)! Dans lap is really a nice lap I have to say! Main thing is dont try to follow other peoples lines look at how they are doing it and develop a technique and then just constantly do that same technique. Once you hit a point with it then adapt it. Thats the way I've worked at this TT. My technique is slightly different to dans through sector 1 might be worse im not sure i think its even but i just feel more comfortable with it same at the hairpin.

I do study laps that I have done to see how a lap turns out turn in points and such to try maximize consistency so something you might want to look at :).

O and something I would say to anyone try something different you never know it might just work :)!

Cheers bro, the state of rhythm I acquired when I did this lap was surreal. But like I said, last corner was tragically mistimed. There is the time still available.

I'm beginning to see the light emanating from a 1'30.9xx lap time, mid .6xxT1, high .7xx low .8xx T2, .0xx T3 sector, equating to a mid .8 T3, and a low .1 to mid .1xx T4 sector, its there for the taking.

:D You never know dan you'll soon be at a 30.9 :P! I can only imagine your rhythm you've had and the focus where you get totally lost in the lap and then suddenly realise at T3 your on it :D!

I followed your ghost tonight just to see how sectors are lining up I have to say we do our Sector 1 completely different and its still matching lol :D Im quite intrigued by it actually :D! As for your T4 times they really are on it, struggling to get into .1's see low .2's but will have a go tomorrow bit tired now.

I wouldn't mind a new GT coat for christmas if there is a prize going secretly or a nice drive in any form supercar/racecar :D!

T1 is simply a reactive sector, basically I just react to the line I take at any given time in order to maximise speed, the corner that I perform weakest in is the first left hander, difficult to get grip there in terms of attempting to take it at 180+km/h

You have already proven you can do a good lap, now it is your chance to prove you are beyond human :sly:.

I did a sector comparison of my fastest lap against yours. It has been over a week since I last tried this so now seeing all the new techniques hopefully when I try it again, I can get into the 31's.

T1 -0.171
T2 -0.291
T3 -0.124
T4 -0.491
Lap -1.077

Well good to see the Aussie (or martian) back on top, well done. Reading your posts I'm guessing one of the reasons you guys are so good is because you're very analytical, you dissect everything. Good stuff!

I came back after about a one week break and the pb improved by almost a full second, with a 1:34.775. I watched Immortal's lap then watched my best lap replay and then laughed out very loudly.

Just had another hour long session and am happy to report an improvement. As of now, sitting at 123rd with a time of 1:33.747. Pretty happy, will try some more tommorrow. Still feel like I've left some time out there.

These TTs are very humbling to say the least! I'd be happy to get below 1:35! Anyone know what the quickest pad-user time is?

Not sure. Have a look at the leaderboards tho and you will find your answer there. Pretty sure there is a pad user in the top 256.

I had a look through users placed 190 - 250. All of them are wheel users.

I saw here that GTP_Tidgney did a 1:34.0XX with the pad but I have no idea how much time was invested. At present, no. 250 in the top 250 is a 1:33.0XX. I don't think it possible for a pad user to enter the top 250.

Anyone here using the pad, and if so what is your time?

Anyway, did this event again after over a week. First few laps was a bit rusty but then got the hang of it again and managed to beat my time. Poor chicane again though, redlined a 31.9XX time, main thing is I know I got enough pace to stay within a second of the leaders ;).

Nice on saidur keep at it :)! You'll nail a 31.9xx then start heading towards our times :D!

My pad time was literally me just nipping on and having a go, I'll have a proper go with it at some point but My guess is a low 32.9xx - 33.2 would be limit for a pad.

And not even a hint of a response from the GTPL guys after my .217 lap, maybe the're a alittle disheartened now, GTP FTW!

:D! GTP Doing it like a boss.... Well Dan doing it like a boss :D! Hopefully I'll retake 3rd soon! Although still tired damn need to catch up on sleep lol!

I don't think I am good enough to do a 31.9XX, will probably go below it :D. I am going to all out on that chicane, will know I will do a good time if I get good speed through there and might be even contending for the current top 10 spots. Hopefully I get lucky through there as I won't be trying to play safe ;).

SRF forced on? :banghead:

C'mon PD, stop being morons. I'd like to know what kind of sissy is making this crap up.

I wondered this too... as someone mentioned, the GT-R has something equivalent fitted in real life so maybe that is the justification.

A response from the GTPL norbi, but a fleating one at best, 1'31.390, which does knock Tidge back a spot, get it back and maybe leap frog 2 more in the process, only a half a tenth away from achieving that.

Looks like another aussie, warrior2167, once was a wizard with the stick but just like Tidgney has recently upgraded to the wheel, has entered the fray and slotted himself in to P8. This guy is very talented and could move up even further, cheers

Finally got to give this a go :D, albeit with a dodgy DFGT - 1.33:221 is my best after an hour. Missed 2 weeks of everyone pushing each other's limits so I'm guessing it may be hard to get the motivation to play enough and achieve a low .31, but there's still another 2 weeks so it might be fun to try.

Well done as always Dan, great time! 👍

Anyone got tips for the driving style? It's very different to what I've done in the past. Car is very strange with skid recovery, in my opinion.

The GT-R has physics-altering training wheels fitted in real life? Don't think so.

As we've seen this with SO many events, even license tests, along with forced ASM in the nascar challenge thing, I can only assume that one of two things is true:

1. PD implements these things simply for the sake of variety, since they don't seem to be able to grasp the concept of adding variety by just making more events.

2. It's being translated backwards. However, I can't imagine this is the case, because we would then see different times from all the players in Japan.

I would also include: "3. Just to take the choice away from the players, as this seems to usually be the philosophy of eastern game designers." but they could have just as easily forced it to "off."

I don't get how you guys are doing consisten 31.4's and 31.5's. I'm currently at 31.9xx and at most I see is another 2 or 3 tenths. I've taken a look at your replays and I just don't know what i'm doing wrong. it's getting frustrating :|

I won't really get a good go till Saturday ill have quick gos now and then, I mean i did 20 laps last focusing on last sector (Which im going to check the split off as it was a mint last sector for a change :D!) and got a .4 so will have another few before a little race over at ronin tonight,

Best tips I can give is let the SRF do its magic, have a play with your steering angle you'll notice that you can turn your wheel further and still maintain speed, its just managing the angles is the key.

Anyone know how many people have logged a time? I'm in the uk and the bottom of my friends list is a 1:51 which is 163,000 th ish

Not everyone has time to play every day :)
I play only on weekends now.

Congratulates the time :) But I will be back on track.
