Wow! The bumper is really falling off! Amazing, the first production car decent damage model we're seeing!

Also, I've been out the forums for today and I really can't read all the pages of the thread so, is there any possibility/rumor of this demo being available for mere mortals like us?

Parker - Cut out the double posts please. Use the edit button if you wish to add something and no one else has posted in the meantime.

Huh?

alba, remember who gave you some AWESOME DECALS.

Blast, now I have to set up my GT4 racing rig...

I don't even know why I'm doing this. It's so obvious the front bumper is moving...

And no it has nothing to do with shadows.

Yes, but its not "falling off".
I am pretty sure we spotted something like this around the TGS too.

Yep, I saw this kind of scratches on a Ferrari during the TGS.
Scratches on production cars (SLS AMG, 458Italia, Gallardo lp 560), yes.... moving bumpers/doors/hoods, never before.

Only a race car (Rally STi) had those.

Im pretty sure we discussed something similar before, also on the SLS because of the clearance on the hood and bumper. This is still by far not the damage weve seen on the Subaru for example.

I'm actually quite impressed with that damage. Not because it's substantial or anything, but because PD actually made damage as realistic as possible.

Think about it? Have you ever played a racing game where a very very minor crash causes your bumper to move half an inch off center. Of course not, because no other racing game has ever cared what the result of a 3mph crash would be.

I can't speak for everyone else, but, yes, yes I have.

Quite a few of them, actually.

Yeah BUT, if you hit a wall doin 200 the whole car isn't going to crumple and rip apart, hehe that's the damage I want!!

It won't tear apart, but the wheels will fall off and it'll either catch fire (and become inoperable) or just smoke up (and still become inoperable).

We have no idea. All we know is that there is a demo... with different series and different cars in it. It is comparable to the demo that was at the (CES?) games show.

Yes! F3 and dirt2.

If for GT5 the damages can have maybe 60/70% of this virtual damage DB9 crash test, it will be juste Perfect.

Big respect for the guy who make that. 👍

Likely the most impressive deformation I've ever seen in a computer. Amazing.

GT series MUST implement this (sometime)

PS - If KY sees this, we'll have a delay due to production issues until 2012.

You should get to race the ambulance to the hospital :D

This new demo is a tease of epic proportions. I want it now :(
Why do people want demo after demo after demo, to the point where they get the final game and hardly anything is new or novel?
