the fastest guy does not use any aids if you look and why would you say aids would make you slower and it does except abs because we all know PD logic

Which fastest guy are you referring to? Ti-tech85? He had ABS set to 1, every other aid turned off in the 2013 qualifier.

Well i do use DL but never stay on it. Prefer to brake less, trail brake or not brake at all and swing round each corner. If you check any seasonal trail, top 100 or so are ABS 1s but SRF on is a big advantage (could be 10 seconds on some tracks in some cars like the Diablo GT2 one). I don't condem aids but they are used in training purposes as ABS is surely a Feel Factor and as "Kaz" was qouted about the clutch. 'Until theres force feedback in the peddles, the simulation will be all that it can be'.
You can't judge the brake servo stength in a sim to judge the lock zone. In bootcamp, im sure they do practise it then. My brakes lock differently to the game as mine are uprated and new (not to the floor braking either). And all or none will not end this arguement either but they should think about the advantages and disadvantages, and make it a level playing field with set assist lvls for everyone.

I know that IMMORTALPILOT prefers to run with ABS off when possible, sometimes even in online races where ABS is allowed.

On the other hand, he usually had ABS turned on when running the GT5 seasonal events, with only two exceptions, one of which was in the Red Bull X2010 which has so much grip you can't really lock the wheels anyway. He shares the record for most first places with eleven, all of them with ABS turned on.

yes but that is probably the same reason I use abs when it is allowed all aids can make a driver faster giving them a false sense of speed when the real driver can turn off all aids and match or even beat times of aid using drivers. I confess that I do you ABS when it is allowed but only because it proves the fact that aids allow for faster times. Also, in some cases aids can slow you down if your cart is setup to run without aids han puting them on will slow you down.

ABS 1 is faster, end of.

I know a guy who can get top 20s in the seasonal events with a d-pad, high amounts of traction control, active steering on strong, and an automatic transmission.

obviously all aids make a driver faster when the car is setup for them the best drivers in the game understand how to setup there car to run without any aids so that they can match and even beat times that of drivers with cars setup to use aids.

There looking for talent in a set permitter not someone who can hust jump in to a race car. Skills will be gained but talent is that little sparkle there looking for from people that can find that extra time.

Taking away abs could destroy that, as people that driver without may be no good in a real car. So better the do it the other way around to get a better field of people.

All this arguing about ABS and no one has mentioned that GT in general is probably the worst simulator of them all when it comes to driving physics. Go figure. That doesn't mean that the top GT drivers aren't talented it just means they know how to manipulate the quirks of the game just like i did when i went to national finals in 2012.

Key to success in GT Academy. Drive the car as deep into the corner as you can, induce some oversteer, and power out of the turn. With or without ABS.

honestly speaking from experience a driver has to have fitness and talent yes skill can be found later but racing isn't something just anyone can pick up. Also, most if not all racecars do not have ABS brake systems.

another thing that is holding back GT is there setup menu. Seting up a racecar is alot more complicated then it is on GT right now the game that has the best setup options IMO is actually NASCAR 09'. I know it sounds insane but if you've ever played ot that game has an insane amount of options from changing the shape of the body to effect downforce to changing bump steer on ALL FOUR CORNERS. Sadly most people can't except the fact theat a NASCAR game can have advanced setup option they think all we are is a bunch of rednecks who go around in a circle and drink beer from a can. The ignorance

I think you got that reversed :P

Reminds me that SuperGT do not allow any aids, including ABS, also heard Lucas Ordonez is going to SuperGT this year :D

Even if ABS was turned off, I doubt the results would change much. I race a couple of ridiculously fast French drivers in ABS and no ABS lobbies very often, and the finishing order doesn't really change.

It's as doodle said, you can have different settings for different events. I mean I remember after GT Academy 2011 they introduced a GT Academy event where a ton of stuff was forced on, in fact that's when I first saw Immortals name.

Whatever you change the good drivers will adapt, that's what makes them good in the first place!

Immortal is always on top no matter what that doesn't surprise me

But when the level of competition rises I.E European F3 a season wasted driving chase view and sfr is gonna count against you if gta is gonna find a guy to beat the likes of
Raffel Marciello, Jordan King or Alex lynn then they should use the simulation part of the software not the arcade bit !!!!!
The top racers in Europe are using simulation software while we are using sfr come on :banghead:

Well SRF is a joke. And Top racers progress to F3 not jump in at 16, learning curve is longer than GTAs leman in a year stratagy which has worked EVERY YEAR so why change the method.

Hi.

1.if i am using as it is always mild never strong

Haha. Whoops. :dunce:

2.i am not trying to be a real driver just trying to be quick as possible
if pd let me choose The aids ill use them

I have no issue with that. I just thought it was pretty awesome. :)

3.i dont know why this is funny

As you can see here, there's been an argument about aids and I thought your performance example in GT5 was relevant.

4.do u really know me doodle

No, but I always recognize your username on the leaderboards. I think it was a wording error on my part.

been watching u guys for a while
and must say pretty cool how u face each tt .

I'm sorry but this thread generally appears to be a case of sour grapes. Some people are better than others, it's a fact of life!

I wanted to be a pro cricketer, I'm not good enough. I Deal with it. Still doesn't mean I don't practice and work at it to get better.

Change the rules however you want and you'll still get the same names appearing at the top!

That's quite unlucky with timing then, hopefully more GT Academy people see it and attempt it, only Des seems somewhat secure of making it at the moment out of names I recognised.
£25 for a 25 minute qualifying session and another £65 for the karting, seems a bit hefty, and its located in Surrey only! You caught my interest for a brief moment, but it faded quickly:)

edit, fun fact: their (Lets Race) physics engine was developed by a Swedish company (SimBin), at which my cousin works:P
