New layout feedback thread.

No one has made one yet so I'll start one to organize things.
I liked the GTPlanet logo with the M3 better. It more showed that this is a car site(has to do with cars). But thats it for me. The new layout is great!

Gotta pay for all these new toys somehow! New Design (designed w/ new software), new bulletin board, new hosting. IMHO, it's something small to give up to have something this big.

Yep, I've spent hundreds of dollars on GTPlanet (serious software is seriously expensive!), and that doesn't even include the monthly bill for webhosting and bandwidth. The ads are the only way to keep from loosing too much money. Now, of course, you could get rid of them if you want to make a donation...

hey why not put a banner on the bottom? Nobody cares if one is down there, so you'd be saving more money

for the exact reason that you just listed: Nobody cares if one is down there. If nobody cares, or even looks down there--then what is the point of having one? You will generate less click-thrus, and thus less money. Also--in the terms of service: The banner must be placed at the top of the page, or somewhere on the page where the user doesn't have to scroll to see it (if he were to put it at the bottom, it would violate the terms of service and the contract would be terminated).

Ive seen plenty of "need to scroll" banners. Heck, I click on it 5 times a day if I have to.

Yes, but if you notice, most of those banners also have another one at the top.
