Hey guys,

I've been an official Gran Turismo freak for for quite some time... I own GT2, GT3, & GT4 and have been playing for about 5 years. That said, I've never tried my hand at drifting (in GT) before, and just got the sudden urge to do so today. Hence, why I registered hoping to find some info on drift techniques. Looks like that should be no trouble... I'll be stalking the drift threads if anybody needs me. :)

Oh, I do have one question though... how do I select/upload an avatar picture from my computer? All I can seem to do is select one of the avatars provided by GTPlanet. I'd rather upload one of my own...

you need 100+ post for Avatar and 90 days with 500+ post for custom title
Jordan
Member Titles (text under your username in posts)
Your member title will automatically change as you continue to post more in the forums. However, once you have made 500 posts and have been a registered member for at least 90 days, you will be able to set your title to whatever you like in your profile options. You can find the number of posts that you have by looking at your Member Profile, which is accessable by clicking on your username beside any of your posts.

Avatars (pictures under your username in posts)
What are avatars?
Avatars are the small pictures that show up under your username when you post a message.

How can I get one?
You can specify your own avatar in our default avatar database by going to your account options and browsing our extensive collection of images (much thanks to Pako and LoudMusic!).

Can I use my own custom avatar?
As long as it is appropriate, you can use any image you want for your avatar. However, you must have at least 100 posts. At that time, you can upload your avatar via the form at the bottom of this page. Keep in mind that your avatar can be no larger than 20 KB in size or 100x100 pixels in dimension!

How can I make my own avatars?
Many of our members make their own avatars (with great success, I might add!) using programs such as Ulead GIF Animator, Macromedia Fireworks, and Adobe Photoshop. If you need any help using these or any other programs, please don't hesitate to ask around!

Can someone make an avatar for me?
GTPlanet is home to some great graphic designers who would be more than happy to make an avatar for you. I recommend contacting them via there respective "avatar threads", or just start your own thread requesting what you'd like done.

If you have any more questions about avatars or any other feature of GTPlanet, please don't hesitate to ask away in our Questions & Comments forum!

Decided not to make a new post about this, but uh, I'm gonna take off from GT4. Running low on money and my dfp is now officially broken. I don't have the money to go get another one at the moment. I'll be back in like 3 or so months though >:D with my G25!

Hi everyone here in this forum!

I'm please to be in this forum and i am a great fan of GT 4! I had got my GT4 2 years ago, but didn't play much of it until i just bought my G25. Still, i consider myself as a very rookie player which doesn't know much on driving. However, I'm more than willing to learn! Especially on drifting, even though i had never succeeded in one single drift yet! Haha...

Really appreciate brothers here all help around each other very often! I had seen through some threads and find them real useful to my game now! Will keep on learning all the way!

Are there any other Singapore or Asian players here in this forum too? I would really like to know if there's any.

Cheers GT4 and the brudders here!!

Clanegie.

Welcome clanegie, be sure to use the Forum search and the Drifting Stickies. and the PM system is your buddy and good drifting!1

- I started a new Gt4 savegame:dopey:
- I wanna drift!:P

so that's me.

questions plz pm!

thanks

I never did announce myself, and feel like I was a little rude, so I apologize...
I am not new to GT4, but I never really got into it in the past... Always seemed "too technical" for a video game, but now that is what I love about it. I always liked drifting, and enjoyed it in other games, but it always seemed too easy... Pull e-brake, turn hard, keep accellerating... boring... GT4 makes it more unique, realistic, you can customize each car to your style really making it personal as it would in real life!

As you can see, well... read, I always have a lot to say, so that is fair warning, I am thorough... I don't intend to make anyone feel inadequate or dumb, I just know that there are things I don't know or am not sure how to explain, so I make sure to be very detail oriented.

So, yeah, I like drifting, love GT4, not new to the game, but not far in career... Have lots of credits thanks to ARMax! so I just buy what I want and play with the settings :)

Oh, and for those who don't know or are not old enough to remember the show, my name comes from Speed Racer... Series began 1967, Mach 5 was his car, "Speed Racer" is my nickname...

So... There...

all right, Yeah I want to drift in GT4
I can drift in GT3, pretty easy actually
I'm pretty new to GT4 and still getting used to the handeling of the cars and game compared to GT3, soon I will be drifting in GT4 like a was in GT3.

There, I announced myself, now watch out, I'm going sideways :sly:

I like the enthusiasm. But just know thatdrifting in GT4 is very different from GT3. :D

hey everyone!

i'm new to the forums, just signed up about 15 mins ago...

i've been playing gt since gt3 came out, and i've never really gotten that into it until about a few weeks ago when i actually figured out that this game is just simply amazing....i cant get enough of it anymore....and i want to expereince drifting as much as i can...cuz hey, when done right, it looks beautiful :D..

altho i have not been drifting for long, only a few weeks, so i am not that good...i have taken a look at some of the drifting guides (Boundary Layer's and Swift's FR Drift Guide to be exact). personally, i think they did a great job, and i started off buying the example setup that Boundary Layer had explained about the honda s2000, i am still learning and improving, but at a very slow rate...and as for my knowledge of cars, i might as well be thrown into the gallows, cuz i know absolutely nothing about them lol, the only thing i kno what to do is drive a car, and change a tire (i dont even know how to change the damn oil lol), but ive always wanted to learn so...i guess this is my way of just figuring out how cars work and what part does what and such...

and thats about it for me, im still messin around from day to day trying to learn and get more info on how to improve my technique...hope to get to know you guys better in the near future :D

Yeah I know, I've been trying for a couple of weeks now.
But starting a new game isn't going to help so I focused on racing, now I have the money, it's time to find the right car :D

keeping in control of the slide is the difficult part, but I will conquer all. (Don't want to give up, try till you drop)

ps is the main reason why I want to drift in GT4 is because of fotomode :D ; nice pics :D

Hi I'm new to the forums. I love cars and drifting and know a lot about them. I used to drift a lot in gt3 and I got pretty good at it, but then I stopped playing for a long time. In Gt4 the physics are a little different and I'm trying to relearn drifting. How much would a logitech gt4 wheel help me out when I drift? When you countersteer does the wheel sort of go into place, because of the force feedback? When you stop the car and turn the wheel all the way to the left, would it stay there?

Wazzup? i´m pretty new drifter ( Started this Week) and it seems very intresting to make "Oversteering" in the corners and turns.
I Started with Mazda BP Falken RX-7 (D1GP) and i did´nt know how to line up the settings but i was lucky to find this forum!
Now i got six Drifting cars and my favorite is the Blitz ER34 Skyline!
Catch yall later!

Hi everyone!

I am fairly new to these forums, mainly reading and not much posting! I found the threads about GT3 drifintg which i attempted and found untimatly enjoyable and then after reading some of the fantastic guides to the GT4 drifting i am going to have a go on the GT4 game aswell. I am very new to it so i am not brilliant but practice will make perfect, practice i shall! I messed around a bit but now i am going to go and buy my first drift car, which will definitly be a Nissan Silvia. I am either going to go for a S13 K's, S14 or S15. Most probably an S14 and then tune it up and begin drifting! I shall post some pics when i begin.

Many thanks to authors of the Drifting guides, much appreciated!
