Catholics are followers of and believers of Jesus Christ, so they're christians... no more, no less.

then why do catholics use priests to pray to God when born again christians saved by the blood of Christ pray directly to God because of what Christ did for them?

You know, some of the top religious leaders of our time recently held a meeting about getting along with their differences and accepting each others religious beliefs. It helped a lot in the area of world peace. But, all agreed to damn the homosexuals of the world. Seriously. I forgot what the meeting was called, but I'm sure some of you here might remember what it was called.

That has got to be a depressing feeling for gay people. Knowing that all the religious zealots in the world can come together and put aside thier differences to discriminate against you. I'm sure it makes them feel all warm and special.

It's so easy to laugh at that. But then I feel a little bad. If it were any other group, there'd be havoc and outcrying among media circles. But it's homosexuality. The world has yet to have a unified opinion on it. Unless, of course, you are homosexual and you're obviously for it. Everyone else has different opinions.

I'm Catholic. Yes, I'm. Hungary is a Chatolic country and I'm from there. And you know what, I've never been religious even if I'ma catcholic. I do love make fun of people and maybe beacuse I'm a chlid/teeneger.

I usually despise 'The Sun' (a UK tabloid newspaper), but today their front page had me laughing.... the headline was 'PAPA RATZI'... :D

the headline was "from hilter youth to papa ratzi"... that may be a good joke here in the rumble strip, but a newspaper, even if its a british tabloid, should be more serious. especially since this once again only shows the british affection with nazis...

Yes, that was the full headline, but I don't see how that demonstrates the 'British affection with Nazis' though, that's a bit harsh... since when did the British support National Socialism? I just found the pun amusing, which you must admit, it's quite clever... especially for the Sun... anyway, Ratzi might have been in the Hitler Youth, but he was far from being a Nazi...

i did not want to say that the british supported the nazis, but from the british tabloids' headlines i sometimes get the impression that they still see a nazi in every german...

Ah, I see what your saying now, I misinterpreted you... unfortunately some newspapers in the UK, particularly the Sun, do exactly that i.e. see a Nazi in every German... especially during the soccer World Cup... fortunately, most people (and all right-minded people) in the UK don't think that... or bother to read the garbage that The Sun calls 'news'... :yuck:

Hadrian IV, Benedict XI, Julius II, Sixtus IV, Julius III, to name some...

Quite a few popes did have very active hetero/homo/bi-sexual lives, and had childrens too.

On the subject, I don't bother much about what's going on in the Vatican these days, but to have elected someone with even more fundamentalistic views while being less open to other religions is, again, a big step backward. 👎

No female priests, no married priests, stubborn views about homosexuality, masturbation, preservatives, no sex before marriage...

Who's good enough for catholics?
 
Ratzinger should of choosen "Pope John Paul Ringo" for his name. It was heading in that direction after the last Pope.
