Anyone else using the Lexus IS concept race car for these? I only picked that one as it's the only premium car I have for this series. Not the easiest car out of the bunch. All this thing wants to do is drift.

Just getting home, about to try it with the Lexus. Something tells me Sarthe will be tough tho, since I don't have all the HP in it that I could. Anyone do it with the Lexus at less than peak HP?

It's 2 laps, so just adjust your transmission for a higher top speed and you'll have no issues. The Lexus is missing 2 upgrades, Engine Stage 3 and any of the Turbo upgrades. I added those for one of the earlier races, so on this course all I had to do was adjust the top speed. I took 1st place on lap one right after the back straight. It was super easy and probably very doable without the turbo upgrade. I would recommend getting the Stage 3 upgrade though.

I try to win all tracks with fast stock* Lexus IS-F Racing Concept '08, but Eiger Nordwand Short Track is not so easy (best for now, 3rd), Indianapolis and Madrid was easy and the rest i had no time to play for now.

* i use racing soft, and have set the suspensions and LSD etc.

Well, you say the Lexus is a little tail happy in acelleration, it's common to the other FR DTM cars.

For me, exception to Eiger, the other tracks are pretty easy with any of the cars in default, just adjusting gear ratios. put about 200 mph to Indy and La Sarthe, 180mph to Madrid and Eifel 108A, a bit less, like 160mph to Eiger.

All I needed was Racing Softs to Eiger.

I made some races with the Opel Astra and with the Audi R8. Didn't test with old DTM cars, like the 190E, Calibra or 155.

Any tips of winning the Eiger Norwand Short Track? Tunes? Car? I tried many times but only got once to the 3rd place. Any recommendations will be appreciated. Thanks

I did the Eiger with the Astra with just oil change and adjusting gear ratios and overtook the CLK under braking on the last straight before the 2 last turns, but only at 3rd try.

I used Lexus IS-F Racing Concept with racing Medium tyres and max downforce (I tried with the default downforce and loss by 5 secs) did not set the suspension or LSD and passed the lead car at the start of lap 4. The main problem is passing cars as the circuit is so narrow.

I don't mean to sound big headed or anything but I beat all these races first try with no assists in the Audi A4 and then again with the Lexus

No assists is a good achievement, any upgrades? :)

I think my best was R1 tyres (stock with the car) and no upgrades, just tweaks on the transmission plus suspension using a CLK.

Going to have to go for the Alfa Romeo next...then the rest...

Racing softs and some adjustments to aero and transmission. The key is to constantly draft - round corners along straights - ALWAYS draft till your at the front.

I likey this OCD update and new event big time. Back onto GT5. 👍

It took me two tries on Eiger, and that was stock with the stage 3 engine upgrade. I had to mess with the brake bias and LSD settings and I was able to pass the CLK on the 5th lap with the Lexus. All the rest of the races were cake, I didn't throw the turbo on there until Le Mans.

I race with ABS on 1, TC on 5, all other aides off.

Well I said I dont use any assists but what I meant was tc:1 an abs: 1 nothing else and I use the manual transmission. AND I'm using a controller, no wheel over here

In my case no aids except ABS set to one. Only needed the "aid" of a set of Soft Tyres in Eiger :)

I was undefeated with my Lexus IS-F Concept race car in the Extreme Series races of the German Touring Car Championship (3-0). Doing the Seasonal events, I started off 0-2 with another poor decision for a race- five laps at Eiger Nordwand Short Track Reverse. I then would lose by half a car length at Indy. I would later win eight straight (each race I won, I raced the same event twice). I have nothing against the track (I use Eiger Nordwand to test my drifting skills), but this is about as impossible as the five-lap race at Tsukuba with the Miata. So I basically did certain races twice just to increase my earnings quickly. It's good that the Online Car Dealership features some of the certain cars that can be raced in this Seasonal.

Though I didn't have any DTM-type machines starting off, I did manage to get the 2000 Opel Astra DTM race car from the Used Car Dealership. I have loved racing the Alfa Romeo touring car from Gtan Turismo 2 and Gran Turismo 4. Maybe I'll try to get that car and perhaps race this Seasonal with it. Still, I'm happy with the Lexus IS-F Concept race car.

i used this one too... as all my new OCD purchases will stay 0/0.

The eiger race was really tough. Took me a few tries. I was trying to go too fast though.

Agreed 100%. Eiger isn't about straight line speed or mashing the accelerator on the straights. It's about rhythm through the turns. If you can keep the in out rhythm and fight the urge to over-speed the hairpins, it is much easier even with stock cars that are on the lower end of the PP scale.

Took me only 2 tries, but that is mainly because I stopped fighting the car and just drove the course properly.

I like the idea of this event! I got an Audi R8 LMS!

The Audi is great if you're just looking to get it done, but it makes it way to easy because it overpowers just about every AI car. If you are looking for more of a challenge, go another way.

I used the Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5 - 16 Evolution II Touring Car '92. I had used this car before and didn't want to mess up any of my 0/0 cars so gave it a shot.

I really had no problems except with Eiger. Finally had to put some racing tires on and adjusted my top speed to around 160 MPH giving the engine some more torque. It took me at least a dozen times to nail it.
Always just a second or two behind the Mercedes bigger brother. It was hard to get a good flow as the traffic kept shutting the door on me at almost every corner. It felt good to finally break through and start to do some good times. The speeds on that track really felt fast. White knuckles all the way. :) 👍

The 190 surprised the hell out of me the first few times I raced it. It definitely has testicle issues un-tuned (especially against more modern cars), but it is a dream to drive (at least I thought so).

C-ZETA
They already did 2 races on the Ring in the main event.

Also can I still use my IS F RC in this race? It's my preferred choice no matter what price the OCD cars are at :D

Yes you can use the IS F RC

Is it just me, or does the AI seem particularly devious at Eiger? Perhaps it's due to the track being so narrow, but I've seen the AI do some crazy swerving to prevent me overtaking, throwing themselves in my line. This is especially true on the short straight parts. I think my car is fast enough to win without any more tweaking, but the overtaking is keeping me from the victory. I guess it beats pushover AI.

In the heat of battle now, in the IS-F...Indy was cake. (Duh). So was Sarthe, and Eifel. Madrid was fun in reverse. Had to take a couple of laps to find myself. Eiger is kicking me. Keep taking 2nd. AI is nasty. Always in the wrong place. FYI, ABS 1, all other assists off. 603HP with RS tires. Tweaked the tranny so that I run the hairpins in 3rd, cuz in 2nd gear, it straps on the ice skates.
