Im noticing that a lot of people are up in arms that no new seasonal events appeared this week!!!

Maybe i was alone when i read the "seasonal event update schedule" in the news section and got an impression that the schedule would be changing. I believe it states that seasonal event will "generally" be updated on thursdays at 0300 hrs GMT.

I suspect that the plan from PD is to have just one set of seasonals running at one time rather than the 2 that we have had from the begining therefore i conclude that the new seasonals will appear when no6 expires, thursday the 10th

I also strongly suspect that the reasoning behind this will be to include some form of new event for us player, perhaps this GT drivers club may appear at the same time, there is also th strong rumour that a large update is inbound

What im trying to say is chill and take it easy. Im sure some great things from PD are not far away. In the meantime just play the dreamcar championship with different cars, good fun, good challenge, 1.1 million credits and 90000 xp

Whilst I do think PD can be kinda unnecessarily vague, this simple 1 week delay seems likely to me too. I don't think they would have put up the notice about the seasonals recently then scrap them after just a few weeks.

Also I could be wrong but weren't the first couple of events fortnightly anyway? I remember being a little surprised when they switched to being weekly.

Way I see it, they aren't obliged to give us any free content, it seems to be too "expected" nowadays to me. I think everything should be seen as a bonus except perhaps genuine fixes to the game. The phrases "looking a gift horse in the mouth" and "biting the hand that feeds you" keep springing to my mind when I read these forums.

They don't "owe" us free content per se, but if they want to maintain their reputation as a good game developer, then in that sense they "owe" us content because they released an unfinished game in the eyes of many. Just take a look at the game's reception.

Hey maybe you have something there but at this point its just an obvious guess as there is nothing predictable about PD and history has proved this.

While I think it was pretty positive reception to the game there were still glaring issues with it. Was it bad? No, was it unfinished? Yes, but that's the problem with games now. Because of the online developers, even good ones, can release a game that's 90% complete and just finish it with a patch. Before online they had to release the game pretty much 100% perfect because there were no ways to fix problems, but that's one of the disadvantages of this whole online gaming thing.

The only game recently I can think of that didn't need a patch or update to work perfectly was GTA 4. Every other game I play either Halo, COD, Forza, Uncharted, Gears of War ect needed huge or multiple updates to fix obvious problems that shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Well then they owe us fixes (which I did say), but not free weekly events.

he didn't in the thread title.

I have a life.

I'm also very sorry the food in your country is terrible. :yuck:

Lame. And to think until then I was in your corner 👎

I'll leave the petty UK vs. US sniping to Youtube, suggest you do the same.

You want Cheese with that?

Anyway. If PD had got the EXP system at an acceptable amount for each level then no one would be too concerned. Yes OK, grinding would still need to be done but there wouldn't be as much needed to get to the next level and unlock the next Endurance event.

Personally I see the seasonal events as a chance to buy and drive cars I wouldn't have bothered with or car and track combo's I wouldn't have done (Nascar on the 'ring, epic)

They "owe" us a lot if you ask me. GT5 was a disgrace to the gt series and I am very disappointed with it, especially taking so many years to "develop" it. With the game being so short and easy, minus they long, boring, pointless endurance races, they should not only give us as many seasonal events as they can, they should also add many more races to the game itself. It took me forever to beat the old gts but when I bought gt5 i was done in a week. Boo PD! I miss gt2 and gt4, now those were classics.

That would definitely make boiled meat taste better. Yes, I know, our food isn't much better. The Asians are kicking both of our butts in that arena.

Don't be so upset, the only info I had to fire a shot at him was that he was a Brit.

Says the man whos from a country where there's spray on cheese

great follow up to my post where I admitted our food is terrible too.

I guess I should have just said that the Brits are uptight but I didn't know that until now.

Since Top Gear is so great I thought you all had a sense of humor. My bad.

From seasonals to food. What's it going to be .... can we stay on topic, if not don't post here.

It's hardly just free content. Without the seasonal events the single player is shockingly. Moreover, the seasonal events patched a glaring problem with the xp / credit progression in this game.

I'd bet that they're waiting until Monday so that they start and expire at the beginning of the week, and not a random day like Thursday. Or maybe I'm being too logical.

Just take a look at the game's ( people's unrealistic fantasized ) expectations.

A game is limited by the hardware it runs on. Plain and simple.

Then why cant they just say that! In plain English, or whatever country your from! Instead of letting millions of people get angry!:grumpy:

That'd make sense for Forza, but for Gran Turismo? No.
