More like an DLC for "5"
If you think about it, the Camaro as DLC is entirely feasible. If it takes 6 months to model a car as they have said, they should be able to crank one out even faster now that they are stamping. I can't imagine they are already actively working on GT6 yet (:scared:) so the PD boys/girls need something to do!

Downtime? We don't need no stinking downtime!

6 months of man-hours. So if you have 2 guys woking on it it takes 3 months. There's a max to how many artists/coders/engineers can work on the one thing at once, obviously, and some things will have to go in sequence, but there's nothing improbable about putting a dozen people on it and having it done in a fortnight.

Great news. I wonder what can go wrong now.

Pirates hijacking the ship transporting the copies of the game?

If that does happen we'll have to assemble a crack GTP commando unit to liberate them. They can hijack our oil shipments and our freight ...but hijacking GT5 would be crossing the line. :irked:

Sony has 35 printing facilities around the world. The North American copies will be arrive from somewhere in the midwest. I know there is one in the U.S., I just forget which state.

I thought i GT5 was going to be playable at SEMA, with past winners being featured and drivable in game... yet i have heard no news of this. Is the game on the showfloor? Is it a new build (damage, skidmarks, sounds, etc)... or is i completely absent?

Does anyone know?

It's there but just like last year it seems like we're going to get very little footage. Most of the footage we got last year came from the people that actually worked on the car as they filmed footage of their cars.

I wonder when we are going to get a launch trailer for the game. Hopefully soony! I love me some Gran Turismo 5 trailers. PD makes really good ones and that one by Red Bull was incredible.

BTW heads up SSx, Tokyo Motor Show is bi-annual and the next is 2011. ;)

Unfortunately.

SEMA is about cars, not about video games. I would expect very little to no new information to come out of there.

Wake up in two days. People know it but they're keeping their lips sealed. We'll know in a couple days.

I call bs on people knowing.Who would tell them?Kaz? You really think Kaz would take that chance?Im usually optimistic, but not with this date. Its friday...or those 'sources' with prive information are bs'ing us bigtime

I wonder how many times the "wait until xxx and we will know" line has been used with GT5 now... pretty much every game show and interview since 2007 it seems at least...

That and as far as I can tell, neither Sony nor PD has a booth there, anyway. I doubt they could get away with just setting up in a corner...

Well.At E3 2005.They said GT5 will release a year and a half after the PS3 launch.Since then,I'd guess we've expected announcements on release dates at many car shows and every major game show since 2007... :/ ,Ive realised.GT5 makes me feel old.

Apologies if this has already been posted but I couldn't see it anywhere. A couple of pictures and the car Kazunori choose to win the Gran Turismo Award that will be in a future edition of Gran Turismo.

Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, congratulates Mark Stielow on winning the Gran Turismo Best in Show Award for his 1969 Chevy Camero

I love muscle cars as much as the next guy, but I'm dissapointed that a truck or SUV still hasn't won, eight years on. :indiff:

Who are these "people"? Nobody who isn't employed by Sony/PD would ever keep their lips sealed about a GT5 release date. However it's a moot point because Sony knows this and would never give that info out to a bunch of random people.

So your bro was there, and he heard from a guy who was serving drinks at the GT5 VIP party that a release was imminent? Not true.

You heard from a dude who had his picture taken with Kaz, that Kaz whispered in his ear that the game was going to be out soon. Not true.

None of these people who are claiming to have inside information, truly have inside information or they'd be telling the world. Period.
