I know Tuesdays are the North American release dates. Besides, I hope it's NOT anytime Thanksgiving weekend because I'll be in Orlando for a basketball tournament! Won't be able to get it till I get back home! November 23rd or 30th sound about right to me, IMO.

I would be pumped if it was the week of the 23rd. Right before Black Friday, and since I'll definitely be working a 12+ hour shift that day, it would be nice to enjoy GT5 for a few days before the most chaotic weekend of the year.

So basically you are claiming you know the release date or have some sort of inside information that might be relevant?
Don't take this the wrong way, but I just can't believe that. If you really knew, or anyone outside of Sony/PD really knew for that matter it would be all over the internet by now.
No way Sony/PD would pass along info like that to strangers (aka people who won a contest).

They hype train has left the depot! My wife's Target has had to out a sign that GT5 was delayed. That train got going the day GT5p released. The hype train will be making a stop at the Texas Motor Speedway this weekend in the form Joey Logano driving the GT5 car in Saturday's Nationwide Series race.
If it comes out next week, fan-freakin-tastic! They better do it while people still have it on the brain.

I HIGHLY doubt it will be out by next week yet we still don't know a release date. I would think they would need to notify retailers earlier than this and had they, I would bet the release date would have been leaked by now. If it is true then, as you said, fan-freakin-tastic! I'd feel sorry for all the chappies that get word last minute that they have to stick around and work a midnight release on short notice though
You make a good point though. This latest announcement is creating a lot of hype and it would be best if they can capitalize on it and release the game before the hype wears off. Whether the delay was planned or not they played it well. Announce a release date creating hype. Cancel the release date creating a lot of press and hype. Before the press and hype wears off announce that the game is in print creating yet more hype and press. Before that wears off announce a final release date that will strengthen the ongoing press and release it a week or so later before the excitement wears off. We've been getting overwhelmed with news, both good and bad, from PD and Kaz in a very short period of time.

x2. There is a 0% chance Sony/PD are going to give release date information out to a bunch of random dudes at a VIP party. What are they going to do? "Ok we are going to tell you, but please keep it secret until, you know, we can release the information ourselves". NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
If Kartracer96 has information, which he has pretty much claimed to have, he needs to state it, along with the source. Other wise, add it to the pile of "I know a guy who knows a guy" BS that has been floating around.

I laugh at all the sceptics. There's a bunch of people on the net and twitter right now saying more information will be told tomorrow at SEMA, and we'll hear about a new launch date in the following days. Not sure about the launch date, but more than one source reporting the same thing.
I know I have busted on you for this a bit at another site, but I now believe you've been told this the same way we were told yesteday afternoon.
We were told this by a person that I believe is the same source as yours...
... And I quote...
"and will be on store shelves sooner than what people are generally guessing at. Beyond that, I'm not permitted to say.... I gave my word"
Does this person have any real authority or say in the release date, no, but does have inside info most of us wouldn't have access to.

While we wait for the date it would certainly be nice if someone were to update some videos from the demo shown at the event. We know that at the very least it's the TGS build with new cars (all the past SEMA winners). I'd like to hear what that Mustang sounds like.

The definite implication of what we were told was that it will be sooner rather than later, much sooner than any of those next year and beyond dates. Must add that I had/have expectations of an announcement coming from SEMA, but nada as of yet. I will give it another day or so before I put this into my "expectations not met bin" This has happened to all of us with regards to GT5. The Source is reliable but not infallible, nobody is, but I believe what I/we were told was the truth by someone who has real info. Still it's all wait and see, so I'm waiting and hopefully seeing a release date announce in the very near future and if not, well we carry on, nothing more we can do.

He is a really cool guy he helped me fill up my garage on my psp, and he talked with me on chat for almost a hour the first time we met online, making sure we got all the cars transfered and we talked a little about when he met the guys from PD at the transcammer shoot. I'm not saying believe what you are hearing I am just saying if SWERV is the source for the info, I wouldn't put it off as false information.
