news on bodykits?

Damn, Cobra... looks like you have a new friend (enemy) in this thread. Go easy on my boy CobraGT.

As I was saying, I think if bodykits are going to be added to GT4, much less the "First Flight" deal, it may welcome fans of the sport compact/import (based on what's domestic to you) culture. I've always said that the GT series wasn't so much about good racing, it was about having fun with good racing. I still remember the most fun I had in the GT series- modding out a Mitsubishi 3000GT/GTO with a Stage 4 Turbo and sliding out and around. I think my top speed was somewhere around 240mph at 930hp. This was in Gran Turismo 1, of course. It wasn't about being so focused on racing that you can't get any girls, but about having fun. And I guess in PD's mind, if that means giving the tuner crowd what they want to bring in more GT game players, then PD's going for it all.

I'll be sure to enjoy this deal. And let's hope that you don't get a NASCAR "Stock" Car when modifying a Ford Taurus SHO (GT2). Forget about "ugly ass bodykits that do nothing," my deal is that "stock" car mod for the Ford Taurus from GT2.

DID YOU KNOW: that if you're lucky in GT2 by race modifying the Taurus, you may get a racing modification that gives you the paintscheme to Mark Martin's #6 Valvoline race car back in 1998 or 1999?

No disrespect meant to Veilside, but don't a lot of their body kits kind of look out of place? I'm not saying they don't look good, but I'm sure someone could design some much simpler lips and canards that would be more aerodynamically appealing than what Veilside produces
I agree. Even though some of their body kits work really well aerodynamically (Japanese Veilside R34), some of them are just plain ugly :crazy: and look quite... ricey :(

LOL. or at least let the peak hp be somewhere at 750hp, like a normal nsacar would. But those cars are crap, so I won't even buy a taurus sho.

Mr. McShake
the only thing i hope for about the paintshop is that you can paint prize cars, especially the ones you can't buy.

i hated not getting to choose the color i wanted for some of the prize cars.

Agreed.

I ended up using MK's program to change the color of my Vanquish while I was adding a couple of hybrids. Changed it from cream-colored to silver (Bond car, ya know..) Although once I saw it in silver, I think I might change it back.. hehe. Actually doesn't look that good in silver.

I remember I never bought a Vitz.. I won one, and used that to race the Vitz tournament. Do you have any idea how rediculous it looked driving a PINK Vitz around? That's probably why I had so much trouble with that tournament.. subconciously, I was probably thinking "Ain't no way I can win this in a pink car..."

omg, if that happended in real-life, just imagine the looks you'll get! LOL

Exactly... You should have seen the look on my face when I won the car. Grand "prize" music, the slow unveiling... "Dude.... the ****ing car is PINK."

I remember this one race I was finishing an edurance race, and the prize cars was the 1998 Subaru Impreza Rally and the 1997 Nissan r390 race car ( the black one ). Keep in mind that I already had an Impreza (999). After every attempt I kept getting the Subaru Impreza! But I tried one last time I finally got the r390. My first drive was on Seattle Curcuit Full Course, time trial on arcade mode. It was excellent. KY should really scrap that ramdom prize car system.

But... the Pink Vitz is awesome... people just laugh at it, till it kicks their ass :D

Bodykits are ok, if they are proper and functional... and not over the top things that have blades it looks like and all that crap :P

You want to hear something really insane....

I SAW THE PINK VITZ!!!

In a town in Northern Italy, we're driving toward a hill that has some stuff we want to go see up on it. We're partway up, when, suddenly, I see a flash of pink coming toward us. As it gets closer, I start to see the shape of the car, and I can't believe what I'm looking at. It's Pepto Bismol Pink Metallic Yaris!!!! I first yelled in shock, then nearly passed out laughing.

No body kits like Veilside. We can add 7 types, 20 variations of racing type
rear spoiler(GT wing).
First, Mr. Yamauchi planned to add canard in fornt, but it was
difficult and retired. Instead, you can change front downforce to add
under panel. Ofcourse no visual change.

So you can add rear wing and under panel for aerodynamic improvment.
No Need for Speed underground.

Source? Japanese game magazine.

There is one more news about parts. If you buy a car, it will include
street tire and sports tire. This time, street tire=GT3's control tire
(near grip to real tire).
But it will be difficult for beginer to use street tire,so high grip sports
tire will be included in every car.

This time, Street tire has three variations.
Economy(ealry 90's sport tire)
Comfort(mid 90's sport tire)
Sport (newest sport tire like Bridgestone RE01R)

So, S2000 may have Sport tire and Sport street tire.
R32 GT-R may have Sport tire and Economy tire.
etc etc....

Still no information about racing modify.....

mmmmmmmm White Rice

That is not even CLOSE to "rice". It's a German car anyways...

That's all we need :) We don't need no stinkin APC or Wings West crap. Hopefully you'll be able to change the color of car as well...but only factory colors 👍

Yeah, I agree. The new BMW M5 would look cool lowered 5 inches and a functioning rear wing with gold oz racing wheels. 👍

hahaha 5 inches! thats nutz.....skidpan = gone...sparks everywhere....worst ride imaginable.....gold OZ Racing gear.....hmmmm....nope....wouldnt look good...and a rear wing would look strange on it....its good the way it is. :sly:

Different people have different tastes in cars. 5 inches isn't even that much of a difference. in ride height. The wing would benefit the m5 for downforce.

i am just popping into this thread, but does the M5 even have more than 5 inches of ride height to begin with ?? i think dropping it 5 inches would kill its underside and the shock travel would have to be so limited the ride and handling would be absolutely horrible and limited.

I'd guess it probably runs at about 6-7 inches of ride height. So that'd be an absolutely huge change in ride height, and would have no advantages whatsoever. The suspension would require such little travel that it might as well be completely solid. And gold rims?

Sarcasm? Yeah, that'll work.

Yeah I have one but with ~340 hp FF, it's not driveable at all.

It would be nice if PD follow the Forza route when it comes to body kits and paint job. I don't want to race against all the same color car. I love the fact that you are given the option to customize your car the way you want it.

Hopefully PD will jump on the bandwagon with Gt5.
Smoke_U_24/7
This is a disappointment (That no body kits will be in GT4) for me because I would love to drive a Toyota Supra decked out with the full bomex body kit, garrett t66 turbo kit and LOTS of mods. One would think that PD and KY would have jumped on the bandwagon by now.
Oh God..........Since when has GT ever been about BANDWAGONS?? This is the one thing that seperated it from other "racing" sims/games. It was original and stuck to the old mentallity that driving/speed/handling were higher proirities then "looks".
The only appearance mods i would hounestly enjoy are lips, cunnards, splitters, diffusers and MAYBE unpainted carbon fiber parts. (actually i would much rather perfer carbon kevlar:tup:) This means if it doesnt some how effect the functionality of the cars than 👎 off with its head.

PS dont talk about GT4 jumping on drifting bandwagon...youve always been able to drift its only now that drifting has actually really taken off world wide that they have implemented the D1 style championship. There would be no point in putting in "drifting mode" if 75percent of the people who have it dont reall know what it is.:dunce:

yeah as far as i'm concerned, drift mode in GT4 is ulike any that of any other game....its actually geared for real drifting and the physics handle real drift senarios unlike other games....NFSU drifting is soooooooo unrealistic, idk about Forza but i'm sure its not like what GT will have. i would think that other gmaes are on the drifting bandwagon but GT kinda started the fad among car games....i have never seen anyone make NFSU drift videos or any other games for that matter....atleast never as hardcore as us GT fans.

Who is the tard that thinks 5 inches isn't much of a drop... it is on anything... you have no ride height, no suspension travel, marbles would botttom your car out... thats pure show... you can't drive a car with that kind of drop on streets, or tracks, or just about any surface that isn't prefectly flat...

Konnichiwa, ADBAN.

First off, I'm going on the subject of functional bodykits and such. Having said that, I think that we're getting race modifications, but maybe in a new way. Granted you'll be able to modify the aerodynamics of a car with kits and body parts and granted you'll be able to paint up your cars any way you like, we may have a fully-functional race mod deal. Imagine being able to design your car without having to have dull, fruity, or even depressing paintschemes, and coming up with your own designs. In GT1, who'd want a multicolored Honda Civic? a Toyota Supra racing mod that looks more like a low-budget machine running in the Valvoline Runoffs (no direspect)? You have the chance to say "past racing mods for cars sucked, so here's my suggestions, PD!" To me, a racing mod will be more like a rollcage, aero mods, and paint it up any way you wish. You can paint it up to include actual livery, fictional livery, your favorite university (imagine making a Texas paintscheme against an Oklahoma University paintscheme. Who said college football rivalries were only for football?), your favorite music group, a ficticious campaign, you call the shots.

As far as Racing Modifications go, I think with GT1 and GT2, they've basically been lightening and painting up your car. If you're going to have real racing mods, at least modify the engine IN ADDITION to the rest of the car. I think GT4 will let us race modify cars. But whether we'll see anything in terms of rollcages and such, remains to be seen. In the future, I'll talk about Tokyo Xtreme Racers Zero and 3 to give you an idea as to what I think this modification deal will be like.

Quote from Azuremen:"Who is the tard that thinks 5 inches isn't much of a drop... it is on anything... you have no ride height, no suspension travel, marbles would botttom your car out... thats pure show"...

EXACTLY MY POINT! I woudn't even think about driving the thing around in the first place! That Mod I described WAS for show, not for racing. If I were to race it, I wouldn't even touch the ride height. Import Tuners are bad handlers, from what i've heard, anyway (not calling the m5 an import tuner). There are just art to me. Nothing more, nothing less. If you don't like my art, Don't look at it.

Some small infos.

~~~GT4 has some 24hours endurance race"s".
~~~The first funds of player will be higher than older GTs.
Maybe 3cr~5million Cr. If you have GT3 data, you can carry over
10million Cr for max.

~~~The GT resorts interface is huge(Sorry,my scanner is broken).
It is 4 times as big as GT3's,so you must scroll to see all of them.
It'll contain "Real Circuit","Original Circuit" etc
Dutch car,Belgium Car,Spanish Car,Australian car, and so on.
~~~At "GT AUTO", you can change oil,wash a car, buy a wheels and Wings.
But no paint shop.

~~~At "GT AUTO", they sell nobrand original wheels(15 variations by day)
everyday. "The Wheel of the Day". If you miss it , it is hard to find same one.
~~~Used car system is similer to GT2. Car lineup will change in one week,
and number of cars is 60. I don't know about total number of used cars.

WHERE DID U GET THAT INFOS? SOURCE PLEASE.

I think that "buy wings" is just a rumor.... I think it's fake info anywhere it would be read from...

All informations are from magazines.
It hat screen shot of buying GT wings.

I have no scanners. But if you want the screen, I'll try to
take a picuture by camera.

so its official that i can transfer somee of my GT3 credits to GT4? sounds great but im being cautios just like dec. 14 sounded great before too.......

im actually against "body kits" per say for GT. but i'm all for aero parts from lets say, mazdaspeed, nismo, trd, hamaan?, roush, etc. i think that would be nice to have.

i hope i can really paint the car too, in gt3 i was stuck with a green toyota chaser :(
