Next GT Sport Update Arrives July 31, Brings Four (Edit: FIVE!) New Cars

I knew there wasn't going to be a new track, but was really hoping for rain.....

Mazda in the N200 is gonna be hard, because is a perfect car to make single make races!!

That D-Type? Beautifull....

Well, glad the trailer’s our and I can now start waiting for next update for a new track.

Cars should be fun, though I’m not thrilled about having another 12.5 to 20 million credit car to grind for. Least it’s a Jag, and a cool classic at that.

Miata TC is a N200 car

I wonder if this car will end up crowding the Top 10 Rankings of N200 class FIA races. It could give the X-Bow a run for its money!

Now that we have what's basically a full-fledged race car on a "road car" category, what are the odds of the infamous "N200" ND Roadster from the Copper Box demo returning to the full game?

In terms of cars, this update looks better than last month's. Actually, come to think of it, the June and July car packs combined with the Sardegna road track would've resulted in a more satisfying update overall:
  • New truck;
  • 2 1960s JDMs from Honda and Toyota, respectively;
  • Classic Camaro;
  • Classic Porsche;
  • Mazda touring car;
  • 2 highly-anticipated hatchbacks;
  • Unicorn car; and
  • Redbull

The Mazda in N200... please someone send a shipment of braincells to Polyphony. That thing will be utterly unbalanced in N classes because it's a freaking race car. They could have turned it into a perfectly fine Gr.4 but nooooooooooooooooooooo, why balance a class ?

Since it's a fictionnal car, they could have gave it the specs they wished. Could even have done something realistic : take a 1.8l BP, stroke it to 2.0l, slap a turbo, boom, reliable 400hp capable engine. Weight, assume it's not using fancy materials, barely stripped, add in the rollcage's weight, turbo and other parts, 1000kg+. Not worse to BoP than a 4C.

The Jaguar D-Type is a nice addition, but it’s another one of those cars I’ll most likely never get to own.

Too bad there’s no track. One would think some of the classic original circuits would be ready to ship by now. If SSRX could make the jump, the others can too...

This is why Performance Points need to come back. They were in the pre-release versions of the game, but not in the final. A Touring Car is going to roast any N200, N300, maybe even any N400 or N500 car by means of handling, unless it's going to default to Sports Medium tires like rally cars do, but even then... I don't know the car's performance yet, but if the car's been lifted directly from Gran Turismo 5 or Gran Turismo 6, then it's ill-fitting for sure.

Doesn't belong in Gr4 either. Even less so.

Two cars that stand out to me from this update are the Honda S800 and the Porsche 930 Turbo:) shame about there not being any weather yet.
