Next GT Sport Update Arrives July 31, Brings Four (Edit: FIVE!) New Cars

I think the Mazda Roadster TC is in N200 because it’s not mechanically unique enough to be in Gr.X, but also not powerful enough to be in Gr.4. But if it were up to me for next time, I’d take all the TC & RM cars from the PS3-era games, and then create a “Gr.5,” as if it’s a class that’s just a step below Gr.4. But even then, I’m not too sure. Maybe just the TCs? I suppose this Mazda Roadster TC is percieved more like a tuner than a race car, sort of like the Toyota S-FR Racing Concept, the SEMA winners, or the 86 GRMN.

At any rate, if any more TCs/RMs return, I’d personally love to see the Prius TC come back.

That D-Type is quite a surprise. I believe the car is a new addition to the series? Not remember it was exist in previous installments. Also, quite a relieve the Roadster TC wasn't put in Gr. X but N200 means it will be useful at least. And looking the habit of Sport mode doing one make race very often the Roadster would likely had it purpose there. Other cars are also interesting there but of course the 930 Turbo is the most hyped from the pack.

As for new track or weather since there is no confirmation this update I guess PD will show more about it in upcoming New York WT event in August.

Guys, calm down. The rain is probably still in alpha/beta stage.
Do the Gran Turismo sleepovers use PS4s or PC for the official tournaments? I'm wondering if the consoles are not powerful enough and we're seeing a next-gen teaser.

D-Type looks cool. I'm sure it will be a Daily A race soon.

They are modified PS4s, but likely not more powerful than regular PS4 pros.

Hah, I knew there would be at least one more car to be revealed. Though I'm shocked to find out it's the Jaguar D-Type, I was thinking it would be something else. I don't know what else, it's just that Jaguar wasn't on my mind.

The Mazda in N200... please someone send a shipment of braincells to Polyphony. That thing will be utterly unbalanced in N classes because it's a freaking race car. They could have turned it into a perfectly fine Gr.4 but nooooooooooooooooooooo, why balance a class ?

Since it's a fictionnal car, they could have gave it the specs they wished. Could even have done something realistic : take a 1.8l BP, stroke it to 2.0l, slap a turbo, boom, reliable 400hp capable engine. Weight, assume it's not using fancy materials, barely stripped, add in the rollcage's weight, turbo and other parts, 1000kg+. Not worse to BoP than a 4C.
It does not belong in Gr4. Get over yourself. It's a single make racer. It should have gone in Grx

I can understand that PD needs more time to implement rain weather, but I'm not gonna lie, the lack of a new track and only 5 new rounds of GT League leave me a bit disappointed. And I still think Sardegna Road B layout needs its own circuit experience, although I was pretty sure PD would only add one for A layout.

Anyway, the Porsche, Mazda and Civic will entertain me for a while, they're good additions. And that's cool that we're getting a 5th car, but it's a shame it'll be so expensive... gotta grind some more!

D Type.
At least 10,000,000 credits, then.

(Edit)- could the Mazda be good for grinding in the Premium Sports events like the KTM & GT40? If it'll work reliably at N200, it'll be easier than using the old Alpine A110.

BUT THE LEAK WAS 4 CARS INSTEAD OF 5 SO DEFINITELY THE GAME IS IN DECLINE AMRITE?!

See this is why we must wait until the final form of the update actually surfaces.
Sure but it's a car priced so 90% of the players will never experience. I personally don't have the time to waste diddling around trying to get to 10-20 mill credits. Gets boring way too fast. Nice car though. Just have to hope to win it on the wheel of despair. (ya, right)

So you'd rather the car be put in a group so that you can do nothing but race it against itself instead of at least being able to give it go against other types of cars all while being able to do one-make races as well.

OK.

Five new rounds join "GT League" events:

Amateur League
Two new rounds added to the "World Hatchback Championship."
Professional League
Two new rounds added to the Nostalgic 1979."
Endurance League
One new round added to the "X2019 Competition Endurance Series." :boggled:

CIRCUIT EXPERIENCE
The Circuit Experience now gets "Sardegna - Road Track - A." (Peugeot VGT GR.3)

Actually, come to think of it, I do think the TCs and RMs from the PS3-era games belong in the N-series, but hear me out first. Here were my reasons:

-The made-for-game Gr.4 and Gr.3 cars are each respectively made to be fairly similar in terms of power, weight, and modifications. So even though a Ferrari 458 and a Volkswagen Golf VII have a difference in power of about 400HP, their Gr.4 cars are much more similar. Meanwhile, the TCs/RMs from the PS3-era have improved stats compared to their road cars, but are otherwise not nearly as organized. I know their names will say that they're race cars/rally cars, and they have a lot visually in common with race cars (e.g. kill switch & extinguisher stickers) but when you look at how the stats change from their respective road car to race car, the N-series is the better fit over Gr.4 or putting it into Gr.X where they can't potentially be balanced against each other.

-That last sentence brings me to my next point: I think there wouldn't be as many critiques of which cars are in which class if we had more demonstrations of "sub-classes," much like how some recent Gr.4 races limit players to the FF racecars within that class. Similarly, I'd said that this would also be great for Gr.1 and the Group C cars instead of creating a class only for the Group C cars. So if all the TCs/RMs from the PS3-era games return (either in GTS or a future title) I think they should all be put in the N-series, but they should also have more races that feature a class yet it's not just permitting every car in that class otherwise.

-To follow-up on that last point, you could hypothetically have a race where you're limited to just the RMs/TCs, have all the TCs/RMs tuned to the most common N-series class, let BoP do the rest of the fine-tuning, and then have them all race against each other. I think there should be more races like that in general, not just in this case. I also think that tuning power/weight to have an N-series car be eligible for another N-class (e.g. an N200 car becoming eligible for N100 or N300) should be considered something that's disabled if settings are disabled; after all, it's not like you can further tune your power/weight once you've only done so insofar that a car becomes eligible for a setting-disabled, N-series event.

EDIT: I just noticed something potentially interesting. Wasn't the unreleased Mazda Roadster ND with the rear wing also an N200 car? IIRC it only appeared in pre-release builds. Maybe they decided to scrap it because they could just use the TC from the PS3 era. Interesting to think about...

I actually went out to help my wife run an errand thinking "Oh, the GT page posted last month's update preview at 5.45pm the day before, it'll be fine if I just keep an eye out.".

Literally the moment I left the house. THE MOMENT. So apologies for the lateness of the article folks.

You’ll never be forgiven. LOL!

Good thing I just reached the credits cap, so I can afford the Jag regardless of its price. The others can wait for RNG's mercy.
