...which suggests that what the Baylor QB did might just have been more impressive.

Ryan Tannehill tied the rookie passing record yesterday but nobody talks about it because they lost. Same with Baylor.

Babe Ruth is without a doubt the best lefthander in history. Among the top hitters of all time AND he was an excellent pitcher.

Did you not see Tim Tebow on that picture?

Come on dude.... :indiff:

Bears D is old and slowing down. Jay Cutler sucks and Brandon Marshall can't catch a cold.

Excuse me, can you repeat that? I can't hear you over the sound of the score board saying 27-10.:P

Edit: 34-10

Sure, I'll eat crow. But this is the Cowboys, remember.

The Chicago Bears left Dallas winning 34-18. So much for that "3+ favorite at home," especially when Tony Romo got picked off five times.

Any given Sunday. 👍

And occasional Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays after college football wanes for a month.

Bears are better than the Packers. Hold me to my word.

And we got Philly this week. I'm taking us 30-21.

I know, right? It's kind of annoying to have games on different days in regards to playing fantasy football, but then it's nice when I'm at work on Thursdays and I can throw a football game on.

Saturdays are just ridiculous (unless it's the playoffs).

All 32 teams have played 4 games up to this point. So with this said, how about we do a little quarterly report on your team(s)?

I have followed the Texans ever since their 2002 debut. Of course, it was 2002 when I first started really being a sports fan. Didn't care much anything about sports back then. Anyhow... seeing the Texans evolve is kind of like seeing a kid grow up to become an adult. While I am not a parent (I am an uncle), the Texans became men over time. Ten years of the Texans is kind of like seeing a baby go from birth to becoming a college graduate. Even when the Texans won 19-10 that Sunday night against the Cowboys, I knew this team could go far. This was my team, and I wanted the Texans to win and keep winning. No team is pathetic forever because teams will have those fantastic seasons. It CERTAINLY wasn't that season when we went 2-14 and ended up drafting Mario Williams the following Draft. If anything, Wade Phillips as well as some solid running backs and wide receivers helped. Old Reliable has been Andre Johnson for the longest. Soon as Arian Foster started going off, all of a sudden- my Texans have a running game.

As for this season's Texans so far, I am very much into the Texans. My mindset isn't on "we're making the Super Bowl and winning it." I am more along the lines of "wait and see." If you're to stand any chance to make the Super Bowl, you must first make the playoffs. And you can't make the playoffs if you just stink up the season. I hope the Texans make it to and win the Super Bowl. That's the dream of almost ANY NFL fan- to see his/her team make it to and (more importantly) WIN the Super Bowl. Lots of people are saying the Texans will go to the Super Bowl this season. I can only hope so. But... there's still a LONG way to go. Like, I don't know... 12 games to go.

How do you assess your team(s) after this quarter of play?

Every single Seattle game has gone as such: The first half is a strong defensive not giving up many points, and an offense that struggles to move down the field. In the second half, we have the same defense that still doesn't give up too many points. But now our run game is on fire, and our pass game is in the crapper. The game is always decided on a last minute drive by Seattle's offense, and the game is either won or lost based on how well Russel Wilson handles the pressure. Given our record, I think you can draw your own conclusions.

Can't wait for Sunday? Well, guess what? Thursday Night Football kicks off the new week of action! It's the unbeaten Arizona Cardinals playing at the St. Louis Rams. I think if ARI wins tonight's game, they will be 5-0 for the first time since one time in the '70s (1977, I believe). Will Arizona remain unbeaten, or will the Rams take down the Cardinals?

Good luck to these two teams as well as every other team this weekend.

[UPDATE] It would be the first time since 1974 if Arizona wins tonight's game.

...and then, there were two. Arizona fell from the unbeaten ranks as they were downed 17-3 at the St. Louis Rams. So the only two teams still to taste defeat are the Atlanta Falcons and the Houston Texans. So there is now one team each in the AFC and NFC who are currently unbeaten.

The Sunday night match involves the San Diego Chargers going to the Big Easy to take on the New Orleans Saints. The Monday night game involves my Texans playing at the New York Jets. Good luck to all of your team(s) this weekend.

Possible trap game at Jacksonville for Chicago.

Though its a story of one of the league's best defenses against one of the league's worst offenses, Da Bears do sometimes come out of the locker rooms weak in away games.

That said, if Chicago is up big in the scoreboard, perhaps they should rest some of the defensive stalwarts and maybe give Khalil Bell some more time on the field.

My Texans don't go until Monday night at the Jets. For all the other teams playing today and in this weekend's Sunday Night match... play hard, be safe, and have fun.

Did you see "The NFL Today" and what replacement referee Lance E. was saying about his involvement as a replacement ref? He broke his silence about his role as a replacement ref. That included the controversial ending to GB at SEA. Lance talked about being a football guy while also being a banker by trade. And if he were to do the NFL officiating deal again, he'd do it again in a heartbeat. It was a very compelling live piece he did with James Brown.

I read an article about how The GB coach called the head ref in that game at his house to tell him that even though he didn't agree with the call, he thought the refs did handle it with class. At the end of the article was a little tid-bit that on Hail Mary plays, the refs are kinda trained to let interference go because everyone is truly fighting for the ball.

Just thought that was interesting.

I mostly saw the BAL at KC game. Man- the Chiefs are a mess. Just trouble holding onto the football, trying to make plays without committing penalties... just a mess. Chiefs lost in a score that seems like a high-scoring baseball game of 9-6. Matt Cassel had to leave the game for KC as Brady Quinn took over.

Elsewhere...

* Congrats to Omnis' Dolphins in picking up their second win of the season as they won in Cincinnati against the Bengals. Cats eat fish, but these fish took down these ferocious cats 17-13.

* The battle for the Keystone State ended up going to the Steelers on a clutch field goal to end the game.

* My man Robert Griffin III (RG3) took a whack on the sideline. Unfortunately, he had to watch his Redskins lose at home today as the Atlanta Falcons remain unbeaten. 24-17 was the score as ATL defeated WAS.

* At Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis ended up winning over Green Bay. GB BADLY shanked a field goal that could have brought the game to Overtime. Instead, Indy holds serve 30-27.

* A 41-27 beat down is what the New York Giants administered over the Cleveland Browns at home.

Congratulations to all other winners beyond this post, including the eventual winner of Chargers at Saints tonight.

Remember that trap game I mentioned earlier?

Well it turns out I was right for one half, but completely wrong for the second half.

Bears D 5 touchdowns in 4 games. Nice.

For the second game in a row, the Seahawks defense does not allow an offensive touchdown, solidifying them as the team giving up the least amount of points. The goal line stand at the end was very, very critical and they came up big. Too bad we have the worst red-zone offense, and the majority of out big plays are called back by penalties. I won't even mention the bogus hold, or the blatant interference by Steve Smith that wasn't called. ;)

I hope the Saints lose and Drew Brees doesn't throw any TDs.

Texans at Jets TONIGHT!

The AFC is on display tonight as the AFC South's Houston Texans play in The Meadowlands against the New York Jets of the AFC East. My Texans are the only AFC unbeaten team as the Texans try to improve to 5-0. Troubles for the Jets are all around. Also, will there be Mark Sanchez under center... or a guy named Tim Tebow under center?

Houston's favored by 9 according to one source. Who'll win this one- Texans or Jets?
