I would prefer New Orleans to win, as that could be more helpful to the 49ers. However, being that the game is in Seattle, I believe the Seahawks will win.

Seattle seems to be unstoppable at home. They have beaten all of what I consider the top teams in the NFC; San Fran, Carolina & NO. They should have an easy path to NJ but having the #1 seed doesn't guarantee an automatic SB berth. So we'll see how things play out

It was 34-7 last night as Seattle throttled the Saints. So who dat say dey gon' beat dem Saints? Seattle- and with authority. Sadly... there's no shame losing to the Seahawks. This, speaking as someone whom the Texans should have put away early on before screwing everything up to eventually lose in Overtime (Texans almost always lose in Overtime except for some of those games last year).

Time now for a Standings update. My Texans are officially eliminated from playoff contention with our pathetic and disappointing 2-10 record. How is everybody else doing? Let's find out:

! = clinched playoff berth

--- AFC Standings ---
EAST: New England (9-3), MIA (6-6), NYJ (5-7), BUF (4-8)
NORTH: Cincinnati (8-4), BAL (6-6), PIT (5-7), CLE (4-8)
SOUTH: Indianapolis (8-4), TEN (5-7), JAX (3-9), HOU (2-10)
WEST: Denver (10-2), KC (9-3), SD (5-7), OAK (4-8)

--- NFC Standings ---
EAST: Dallas and Philadelphia (7-5 each), NYG (5-7), WAS (3-9)
NORTH: Detroit (7-5), CHI (6-6), GB (5-6), MIN (3-8)
SOUTH: New Orleans and Carolina (9-3 each, TB and ATL (3-9 each)
WEST: Seattle! (11-1), SF (8-4), ARI (7-5), STL (5-7)

Keep pushing if your team still has playoff hopes. Or if your team forgot how to win games or can't win games (like Houston), better luck in 2014.

I have a bad feeling that Cincy is going to win the division and lose in the first round again. And Baltimore will snag one of the wildcard spots and make it at least to the AFC Championship.

It all depends on Dalton. I hope he plays well in the playoffs because they have a squad built for the playoffs ie they play defense and can run the ball. Also they have AJ Green so they should win at least one game hopefully.

Nah, Colts will get their revenge on the Ravens on their own field in the wildcard round this year. Colts vs. Broncos in the AFC Championship. I just don't know who can stop Seattle in CenturyLink Field.

Tonight starts the new week. One a row... or 11 straight? The Texans' woeful 2013 season continues (sadly) as they'll be hosted by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Ironically, the team projected to be the biggest joke for the 2013 season actually has righted the ship; while the team expected to blow people away is the only team with double-digit losses heading into this weekend. Because I am not a fair weather fan, I care about my 2-10 Texans. It's our final prime time game of the season. Can the Texans f:censored:ing win one for a change? We're not going to anybody's playoffs, so there's nothing to lose. That is unless we're playing to match our 2-14 record from 2005.

2-14 Texans at 3-9 Jaguars.

This game is essentially a battle for the first pick in the draft so it might interesting to see how it plays out

I think both of these teams could beat the Jets 28-0.

Houston loses again. I find it impossible to believe that Jacksonville at one point this year was 0-8 and Houston at one point this year was 2-0.

I'm depressed as hell watching the 2013 Texans since losing at Baltimore back in Week 3. It's like they WANT this season to end so they can await the 2014 season. I don't even think the Texans know when or how to play winning football. This is just terrible. 2 and m:censored:f:censored:ing-11. May as well lose every other remaining game because I can no longer watch the Texans with any sort of hope they can win again. Jacksonville reverses their home curse... while the Texans' curse continues.

Final score: 27-20, Jacksonville.

I wonder who the Texans pick with first overall. Clowney would just be scary, but we don't "need" him. I haven't followed college football too much this year... Is there a standout CB, S, or OL?

Houston is jess turrible. Oh my god man. Still, I'd draft Clowney and then go after Tajh Boyd or AJ McCarron in the later rounds. I think all the QBs are gonna be busts in this upcoming draft. The other talent is so much better.

THIS JUST IN...

Gary Kubiak has been FIRED by the Houston Texans! I was sort of not expecting this. A lot of fans here wanted Kubiak gone a long time ago. At this moment, Wade Phillips will be the interim coach.

Wow! That's all I can say. Wow...

[UPDATE] In addition to Gary Kubiak getting canned, I read that Special Teams coach Jim Marciano was also fired. Marciano has been around with the Texans since their inception in 2002. Almost like Spring Cleaning... Fall/Autumn edition!

I am curious to see who will end up coaching the Texans. McNair mentioned Lovie Smith as one candidate. I hope they don't hire Wade Phillips as HC though that would be a mistake. I read that the last straw for Kubiak was when he sat Keenum last game. Not sure it that is entirely true but the owner did say Keenum would be starting next game.

If I were the Texans I'd be looking to hire Gus Malzahn.

How about the snowy weather in Philadelphia? It's borderline blizzard in Philly with today's DET at PHI game. It's always sunny in Phildelphia... except today. :)

Tannehill just ran a Madden-like read option play. Wish he didn't slow down at the end. Would've been an awesome touchdown.

Why is Pittsburgh the north freaking pole today?

Ivory bounces off half of Oakland, runs 15 yards for the TD. Jets have now hit their season high in points.
