NFS Hot Pursuit 3

you're expecting it to be exactly like an old game at which point you may as well play the old game instead....

I just hit the 1000000 bounty mark.. I have unlocked every racer in the game! woo now onto beginning my cop career

The physics are incredibly, frustratingly bad (even for an arcade game) and difficult to use, there is nothing besides career and online mode, no modifying (even very minor, as per the original NFS HP game), no personal garage (as per original games) and most of the shortcuts that are required to be utilised to get gold times are highly difficult to navigate properly, even with practise.

What do you honestly need modifications for? As Rubin Carver said (Road Trip) "It's supposed to be a challenge, that's why they call it a shortcut. Otherwise, it'd just be the way."

It isn't necessarily for an increase in performance as you're implying (and in most NFS series, increasing your car's performance meant the AI's did too - yielding no gain anyway). It's for the touch of personalisation it brings.

if shortcuts weren't hard (which they aren't), then this game is too easy.... distinguishing the good players from the bad becomes a blur, and those who take risks don't get rewarded and having shortcuts become meaningless.

I'm a level 11 officer of the law now. I was enjoying my ZR1 until I was forced to move up a level. Those dispatch fast response cop missions are quite difficult, in particular the ones at night time, so hard to not hit anything when you can't see anything!:scared: Played my first online games, suprisingly (because it's from EA) their servers mostly held out for me, my interwebs were dying on me though. Quite a fun game when you're a cop.

i'm a lv 13 outlaw...

since some of you are still roughly new to this game, could you guys help me by finding out how much bounty is required to unlocked these cars? They are either left blank or have a ??? in their slots. Thanks.

You can find out how much bounty is required to unlock each vehicle in free drive or online car selection screen... it'll tell you how much more bounty you need to get. and your status at the top right will show you your total bounty.. so a simple addition will grant you the number. The reason why i couldn't get the numbers myself were because I've already unlocked them OR because they are in the 4 and 5th tier which i don't access to since i haven't unlocked a single car in those tiers yet.

I compiled this incomplete list last night.

If possible, I'll start a new profile tonight and see what I can get for you since a new player should have 0 bounty.

I was able to get numbers for everything in the first 3 tiers and anything in preview events... when you first start off you don't have any access to the 4th and 5th tiers.... If you don't have the Limited edition, then please continue. I need the numbers for the 4 cars the LE unlocks for you. Thanks McLaren.

I don't understand what's going on with the Autolog. As soon as I jump in my first car, I can access photomode, recommendations, etc. But, when I go to another car, it says it's connecting/connected when it obviously hasn't. 👎

Is the mp4-12c SPCD? What about the one77? cinque? carrera GT? ZR1? Im just confused because you gave me some I already have (or were you correcting the lambo value?)

Just played it online with a work mate and whilst the gameplay is a bit too erratic for my liking, the banter involved is a lot of fun.

See, I thought the SV was a racer exclusive this whole time that's what threw me off my chair...thanks terronium12 i should double check check the list of cars to see what is type exclusive....

Another question, I recall that upon successfully redeeming your online pass, they said they give you a few cars... one of which were a gallardo, don't remember which one specifically, does anyone remember what cars they give you?

I had a feeling one of them was a Superleggera, what confused me was why it said I unlocked the car at one point...? Or were the 2 lambo's only unlocked for online use and not offline?

Thanks. You've got a vast amount of knowledge about this game. You should help me compile some other lists I have planned... such as the amount of bounty for each rank, new equipment and upgrade.

Unfortunately I think I'll have to give this one a pass for the time being because of GT5 and my wallet... :guilty:
:embarrassed: So I caved and bought this game for the PS3 anyways, and I have to say, this is the most fun I've had with a racing game since PGR4! :D TBH, I don't mind the lack of manual, but something tells me this would have been a blast to play with a friend in splitscreen.

Take your favorite car out to free drive, and I can almost guarantee you'll forget any problem you have with the game. Except the lack of an interior view...considering they're all modeled, too. :P

This 👍

I didn't spend 2 hours last night driving the DBS Volante around the mountains and tunnel blasting... :P

EDIT: Just completed all the cop events, now for racer! :)

No dice.. I am very upset about this.. Its still enjoyable with a controller but im not sure wether its worth my $$$..

I just bought this game, and it wont recognise my GT3 RS. A bit dissapointing to say the least. Lets see how fun it is and hope for a patch.

To my surprise I'm not bothered about not having a manual option. I'm to busy fighting off racers and cops, avoiding traffic, using weapons to be worried about shifting. In freedrive I would for sure choose manual but during hot pursuits and such, I dont think it would fit this game. I would still like to see it as an option myself though.

I ended up playing this game almost every chance I could get over the weekend. I even played with DG for about 6 hours straight Friday night online before our online pass ran out. I plan on buying this for sure especially if I can get it for about $35.00. I know at least 2 people going out on black friday so I am hoping they might be able to get this for me. This is easily one of the best NFS games in many many years.

It's settled. I intend to keep a straight record of never playing hot pursuit or interceptor online.

That is all.

Rented the game over the weekend, here's what I think:

Pro's:

- Graphics are great.
- Love the open world.
- Most cars sound awesome.
- Great blend with NFS and the Burnout physics.

Cons:

- No manual transmission. (would be great for free drive mode)
- Can get hard at times.

Also, is the ground wet for everyone else all the time when you go into free drive mode? Thought that was weird. Would really love to have a manual transmission option, even if it was only available in free drive mode. Cruising around at 60 mph in 3rd gear at 5k rpm is not really that great. I'm having one hell of a time with the road blocks. They only leave one little space open to go through, and you come up on them so fast it's hard to see where that space is.

Overall I would rate it a 7, maybe 8 tops out of 10. Still needs some work to be a great game.

Edit: and they need to find a girl to talk about the cars that actually knows how to pronounce things correctly.

Want the illusion that you're using a manual?

Get familiar with your car to the point where you can time the exact moment it's about to upshift, and right it does...let go of the accelerator and voila. :P

Manual clutch/shifting action.
