NFS Hot Pursuit 3

CCX
Oh, good. How difficult is it to unlock?
You'll have to put in the time for it. I think it's way up there in the top class.

Here's something interesting, though. At the final launch party last night, Criterion/EA managed to grab a hold of an Apollo as one of their 4-5 display cars.

It was the only car there not in the game, but I'm wondering if it may become DLC. It's merely a hunch, of course, and nothing confirmed.

Had the opportunity of playing some Hot Pursuit, if you have to chose between PS3 and Xbox360 buy it on Xbox, once again PS3 third party development is graphically inferior, by quite a margin.

That is really bizarre because the same developer used ps3 as the lead platform for burnout paradise.

All classic arcade cabinet racers used a wheel, even the Ridge Racers. Midnight Club 4 is an arcade racer and it plays even better and more precise with a G27 including clutch and gated shifter support, Pro Street, Carbon etc. all have shifter support on PS3.

That is strange I guess I should get the PS3 version because my xbox version of midnight club is unplayable with the PWTS the wheel just vibrates violently.

There are three siren effects, instead of holding the button to turn it off, just tap it.

Yes, I realize that sounds dirty. Shut up.

Just FYI fellows, Dr. Pepper is unlocking 4 of the cop cars as road cars if you enter a bottle code (1 for each car).

They are the Panamera Turbo, Viper SRT-10, Cayman S, & Nissan 370Z Coupe.

Off to the store I go then....

EDIT: Avalanche is a pain in the ass. Fun, but a pain in the ass....I've been busted twice now. :grumpy:

Thanks. Have you used the photomode yet? If you have, can you use the photos for PS3 wallpapers?

No. While I haven't stressed all the potential possibilities...it seems photo mode is essentially a gimmick; take a picture, upload it to Autolog and show all of your friends. Doesn't seem like you can actually save them externally. :yuck:

:( I hope you can do that with GT5's photomode. I like the way Modnation Racers did that.

Oh, don't worry about that...GT5 won't skimp on the photomode.

I just unlocked the MP4-12C, and my god, does this thing sound like sex.

Also just test drove the Reventon roadster in an event, also sounds like sex.

SLS AMG? Sounds like sex.

Corvette Grand Sport? Sounds like sex

I'm more than sure you get the point.

Forgot - photomode will work like it did in NFS:Shift. Take a photo, save to your Autolog in game, then log into Autolog online and look under your photos.

Briefly, that's it. Just unlocked the CCX Police & Road version tonight, so if I get on, I'll snap a few for ya.

Epic! Here's some of my photos! Haven't touched the street racer side yet lol. Gonna beat the Police career first!

👍 Thanks. I should get the game today. Nice shots of the MP4-12C .

Knocked out the Police field last night. Lvl. 10 will unlock everything. After that, it'll take you quite a while to really start going through to 20.

Got this game today and have a few questions:

How do I switch to Manual transmission? If I can't, what the hell?

Are the physics really this bad? Doing well in this game seems to have nothing to do with proper racing skills. Rather, it seems to heavily just cone down to not crashing (i.e. Burnout skills).

Can one bust somene by maintaining a stationary or near-stationary relationship with them as in Most Wanted or is it all about destroying their car?

A major one that has been bugging me - how does one go about replenishing any of the four tools available in pursuit (ie spikes, turbo, emp, road block etc.)?

i would say: RTFM... LOL

Split-screen was 50% of the reason I wanted this game, it got half as good without it. Anyway, bought it this afternoon and started my cop career. I'm the only guy on my friends list that has it, so I'm getting 2,000 bounty every race for being first on the leaderboards.

No MT unfortunately.

It's a straight-shot arcade game. It follows very close to Burnout, which is to be expected.

Yes, but it's difficult. The racer has been down near red on his "health bar".

Once you use all of them up, that's it until the next race. There is no way to replenish any of the "weapons" once all of your allowed ones are gone.

I wish I didn't have college tommorrow, I'm having too much fun playing this. Doing the cop side first, can't wait for the online to start working for us. At the moment I can't get the pass to work. Will try again tommorrow though.

I played the demo of this and liked it. Read a few reviews which have been excellent. Now I'm wondering, do I get this now and GT5 later? It looks so much more fun. Is it really that good?

Yes, yes, yes, and yes eighteen more times.

Nothing but fun is all I can say.

You're a fan then? lol.

I bought my PS3 for GT5, but reading Amars thread, I'm feeling more than a little dissapointed with it. So tempted by this. It kinda looks like Most Wanted, my favourite NFS game ever.

T12 what is the physics like in this game? Can you tune cars?

Hm...

It's like a combination of Burnout: Paradise and PGR4. It's relatively easy to control the car...but you still need skill to pull off top times and positions, regardless. No tuning, no customization....just you, the open road, weather, and your car.

If you've never played any of the PGR games, think of it as a combination of Burnout: Paradise (or Revenge) and NFS Most Wanted.

I love GT, but I can't in all honesty, not recommend this. I won't push this to the side when GT comes out, either.

Since you love Most Wanted, you'll definitely like this. Just don't expect tuning or customization...Hot Pursuit isn't about that.
