NFS Hot Pursuit 3

I wouldn't call it greedy, if we the consumers buy into it anyway.

and in all honesty, I thought you were going to be a first-day buyer of this game.

I really hope you DO pick up the full game for $49... The game was 49.99 during the boxing week and is still probably going for 50, quickly make up your decision, and...

buy it!

Btw I hope you keep your eye out for shortcuts (if we do race), I'm hard to keep up with if you don't make use of the shortcuts. 👍

Yeah, some of the AI drivers are hard too. I hate it when they have you race against a car that's 10 times faster than you are. I'll have to come back to some races after more cars are unlocked.

And I believe in HP2, you still "bought" cars, but with points instead of cash.

The cars you are provided with in each event is enough to beat any other AI you face... and you won't need to go back to an event with a newly unlocked car either.

Also, most events limit you to certain number of cars to choose from (i.e. Slide Show allowing certain Porsches only).

And I believe in HP2, you won cars from events, performing certain tasks, getting enough NFS points (which you don't use to buy if it's not a transaction).

in HP3, you win cars from completing events, and earning a certain amount of bounty, again, it's not used to "purchase" because there's no transaction taking place.

There are elements of HP1, HP2 and Burnout in this game. Some parts of seacrest remind me of HP2, but there are parts that remind me of HP1. and then there's a lot of stuff from Burnout.

My NFS Review:

It's been years since the last Hot Pursuit game. In fact, the last Hot Pursuit was the first NFS game on the PS2. This time, EA has hired Burnout developer Criterion Games and Rallisport Challenge developer DICE, to create this new iteration. I have to say it feels right. It is a wonderous blend between the previous HP games and Burnout. There are several cars to choose from with a pretty even amount on each side of the law with some exclusive cars. The graphics are amazing and each car feels arcady while still feeling unique.

However, there are some things I feel spoil the fun. The rubberband AI in this is rediculous. It makes being the cop a little easier, but it makes the races at little harder. And, sometimes it feels like the AI cheats by magically avoiding traffic cars or blasting away from you an insane speeds. And when they've got jammers, it can pose a challenge to stop them all.

The opening animations for each of the events can get old pretty fast and you end up wanting to turn them off. But of course, you can't.

There aren't too many glitches I've seen, but I have had the computer spit me onto a shortcut I wasn't supposed to be able to take during a Hot Pursuit, which ultimately let the racers get away.

In the end, it's a great tribute to the Hot Pursuit line with elements of HP1 and HP2 in it, making this really feel like Hot Pursuit 3 despite it being playing as a "reboot" of the series. However, there are also the annoying elements of Underground: namely the traffic that can appear out of no where. A 4 out of 5 or 8 out of 10.

Rubberband AI? I never felt this at all... Maybe I just forgot, but i've only ever been jammed "appropriately" probably 5 times (that is, as a response to an EMP Lock). Every other time the jammers were used at random and made no sense to me at all. As for Racing, I've taken a huge lead on the AI before and they could barely catch up. And of course they'll do good, It's AI, they are aware of everything in the game whereas a human can only be aware of what he/she can see what the game is projecting to us, so naturally they can take turns (slightly) better, dodge traffic, and find the gap in the roadblock... The only thing that bugs me is where the programmers decides to give them brain farts and then they drive straight into cars and roadblocks on their own.

Randomly appearing traffic is the fault of online lag, it can't be helped... (that's if you were speaking of online).

I've had traffic cars appear out of no where in career, as well. I mean, it's a great game, but I they left out the Underground traffic. Not even Burnout's traffic was as annoying.

I played burnout 2 days ago, there are a TON more traffic in BP than in HP3... i can't get mad at randomly appearing traffic.... I only get mad if I fail to dodge cars I see miles ahead, which has happened before.

Yeah. I've done that. And there is a lot more traffic in Burnout, but it doesn't feel as annoying as NFS titles. Ever since Burnout, NFS traffic is just..in the way.

The game, at least on PC, is garbage. Horrible steering wheel support, no manual transmission, no voice chat, no text chat, stupid ass cutscenes that you can't skip, atrocious loading times, extremely low car engine noises that cannot be adjusted, no Anti Alaising, random crashes, YOU NAME IT!!!

Pure and utter 100% grade A trash!

I think this game was really intended to be run on the PS3....and possibly the 360. I haven't heard about the quality on the Xbox, so I don't know.

I played Roadster reborn on the 360 at Best Buy one day. The anti-aliasing smoothens edges that the ps3 never does, however this DID however make me feel like I was sorta playing on a ps2 but with slightly upped graphics. That's just me though, I'm just used to seeing pixelated edges when I play HP3 now. CG makes all of their games on PS3 I think so it's only natural that the ps3 would be the one most developed (just how I see it, not a fanboy comment).

NFS traffic is barely in my way, last time I popped in burnout I wrecked so many times because of traffic at intersections, and around corners.

I'm still looknig forward to seeing you get better, shou. When's the rent due?

My friend got this game for Christmas and I went over to his apartment to play some.

We ended up playing for hours straight purely because this game was so much damn fun. Criterion Games have done an amazing job on this racer, it's truly a fantastic game!

I decided not to go and buy a PS3+TV just for GT5, but this game is giving me second thoughts! The second I saw the 918 Spyder in the game I went "ZOMG I must haz!"

the Veyron SS is like the GT Nighthawk; DLC super fast unrealistic boost. I'm not even joking.... but fear not, it's not broken...

beside that, the 918 wasn't exciting for me to drive. it's torque is weak compared to other cars of the same class. Personally like the GT-R and SL65

I haven't bothered with the faster cars too much. I love driving the Sport cars more than the others, although my favorite event is Stampede with the Lambos.

As far as no anti-aliasing, you could just set it by your GPU software just like you can with older games.

I drive everything, preferrably whatever isn't the lowest or highest tier. Reason being is that the sports and Hyper tier have the smallest range of cars to choose from (only natural), but it's not like I use them all... Porsche Boxster & RX-8, Apollo & F1... that's it.

Went out on a monster purchase today purchasing a 32" TV, a PS3, GT5 and NFS Hot Pursuit.

Have done some runs in Hot Pursuit and I really liked that first preview in which you get to drive the Aston One-77. Awesome car 👍

My mate invited me to a one-on-one hot pursuit and beat me after 30 seconds by taking a short-cut through a tunnel, making a U-turn and getting out of cooldown. Before I even knew what happened he was gone !

My online username in NFS is bramturismo btw 👍

I was hoping I could get on NFS Drew's list and pwn him tonight, but his list was full.

Wanna race tonight Bram? I'll let you call which ever tier... Shou and anyone else is welcome to join 👍, actually i want you guys to join (if possible), I want to play with GTP members more often. 👍 x 3

Well I haven't unlocked much, but I'm more than happy to do some racing between GTPlanet members, should be awesome fun 👍

You're in a different time-zone than me though, so I don't know how things fit for you. But if you ever see me online just pop an invite or a chat message or whatever and I'm straight down to racing

I added you earlier I think Bram, and our timezones should co-incide a bit better. Looking forward to playing some GTP guys now I got my ps3 online.

i probably won't be able to play tomorrow night (GMT-5), probably won't be all day, but there is a slight chance we may be on at the same time, appanrelty we are 7 hours apart. I was playing horribly today, i kept making stupid decisions and decided to swerve to "dodge" traffic and roadblocks, but ended up the other way around.

It's probably been posted already, but what a brilliant reference this is...

Hi guys got the game just now Can't redeem the online code which is starting to annoy me so I searched the web and found the solution by creating a UK account ,te question is when I enter the code in the UK account will I be able to use my main account afterward (If not then I probably won't play it 👎)Don't know what EA was thinking but has anybody got a better solution.

Sounds like a regional conflict. Is your game and store not of the same region?

Yeah mate but no worries I have an account for almost every country available :D Very nice game so far a bit boring but Some cars on display are
