I'm interested in some online racing (PS3 or PC), add me to the list. ;)

PSN: RpgCyco
PC: RpgCyco (EA Nation persona or whatever it is)

No Mic, sorry! :(

Back home, so ready for some online (preferably manufacturers) races.

Please bear in mind that my PSN ID is currently Simcoeace (minus the GTP tag) if you want to add as friend.

I would particularly like to get together with NA players who would be up for racing between 10.00 pm & 1.00 am E.S.T.

See you out there...

Sorry to be late to the party... I FINALLY got my online issues fixed (fingers crossed here), and have had a couple exploratory races online with no problems.
Anyway my PSN ID is MannyMoenjack1
Unfortunately I don't have a mic yet, so I'll be the quiet one...:)

Hopefully I'll see you all online

I am free all this week. hit me up for online races. I am already on the list

PSN ID: PositionZero

hint: I LOVE RING!

I will join if the time is right. Just a hint, watch out for me in my works BMW M3 E36 as I am just getting used to using R2 for acceleration and L2 for brake.
PSN ID - thestig-13 (no mic)

i'm always up for some good racing cruising whatever feel free to add me to friends list psn id NITROVIOUS (have mic) see you all on the track ;-)~

I have come around (again) to a more positive appreciation of Shift over the last week, as I gain more experience & come to (grudgingly) accept the arcade nature of the grip.

However, online has been a big disappointment. The only races I could come up with last night were against a couple of level 9 & 12 racers who had chosen to run the MC12 ... with predictable results! :ouch: And then a level 50 racer who had apparently believes that the correct line through the chicane at Donnington is a diagonal across the grass.

This game can be fun online, but we need to get a community of racers going, that we can rely on for decent online competition. I sent out a lot of Shift friends requests (Simcoeace) - only about half of them have been responded to so far. Please sign up everyone! :)

Well, as soon as that big patch comes out I will pop Shift back in for sure... I am definitely up for racing with you... I dont know if I can give you much of a challenge though... :P wasnt really good at close quarter racing in Shift like I am in GT... the absence of looking left an right on a steering wheel is also one of those things I miss... would be useful...

I hear you I too am waiting for the "BIG" patch, as for the close quarters I guess "Trading Paint" really isn't a bad thing since you get rewarded for it in this game! :dopey:

@Biggles, I saw your friend request and I will add you. I do enjoy racing online in Shift preferably in private matches and that would be great with a community of racers. (I normally don't try to "trade paint").

If anyone as sent me a friends request in the last 10 days the reason that i have not responded is that my PS3 is with Sony at the moment :grumpy:

No question, it's a bit of a problem - I only realized how good the "look-around" function in Shift is when I used the controller for a few mintes.

However, before the side-ways view becomes an issue, you have to actually reach the point where you're racing side-by-side with someone. I can't say I've actually had that experience yet with Shift online! :indiff:

Biggles, I'll be sure to message you next time I'm on with SHIFT in the PS3. The wife hasn't let me on much lately...

I've gotten into Tier 4 and cannot stand playing the game.. I'm finally seeing the bugs that everyone is complaining about. So needless to say, I'm really looking forward to playing some good online races. I only have a controller, so I can't promise to be an ultra-clean racer, but know that if I trade some paint it wasn't premeditated.

See you online.

I have been rather busy the past week myself, I don't know how you managed to finish Tier3 I couldn't stand to try and finish it. I have heard that Tier3 depends on the Car? Anyhow I will see you guys online.

I use the GTR & Murliego(sp?) for Tier 3. They are not as bad as some of the other cars.

I haven't bothered to open Tier 4 yet, & given all the complaints about it, I can't say I'm in a particular hurry to do it. To be perfectly clear, I haven't encountered ANY bugs or glitches (at least nothing that I've noticed) with Shift, other than the basic "endless grip" issue. I have avoided tuning any of the cars, & mostly just race in Quick Race, where the key is to set up long races - at least 5 laps, 10 laps is better - & drive conservatively for the first 2 or 3 laps as the field spreads out a bit. After that, the races seem to develop fairly reasonably.

Much better, though, would be to get the online competition going. I think there is the potential for some great racing, albeit with an arcade flavour.

I rarely get big blocks of time to play online and like you I've only had one or two really good races. It would be great to get a group together who like clean racing. I really don't know the best way to do it, but I'm all for it!

I've come to the conclusion that cars with a rating of 6 to 14 are the most enjoyable for me online. Anything above that is basically a semi-controlled crash from start to finish for all who participate. I mean, did you ever try to cleanly pass a Zonda in continual driver-induced-oversteer on the Nordschliefe? Forget it...

And then a level 50 racer who had apparently believes that the correct line through the chicane at Donnington is a diagonal across the grass.

 There's a chicane at Donnington? Maybe he thought he was playing Dirt 2?

Maybe we need to scheduling some events. Or try to anyway. I usually only get to be online after 11 PM EST for an hour or two.

Porsche GT3 & GT2 for me.

I'm with Biggles I like the Porsche GT2 or GT3 but in Tier3 they are just flat out...Nevermind. It was also recommended to me before that the Lambo or the GTR were OK in Tier3 but I have yet to try them. I am with you guys we should schedule a time, I am only 2hrs behind EST.👍

Jswilli1 and I, I believe, are both in Mountain Time, so I'm up for some racing as well.

Well, I'm going to play the idiot here :dunce: and ask: What's the best way to meet up?

Do I make a private lobby and just send invites to my friends? Or does someone else want to host?

Just a few minutes ago, I hosted a public game... and it pretty much was my typical experience... it was kind of hilarious actually!

In what I assume was an effort to wreck me one guy plows into me from behind on the first turn of Nordschliefe, then goes into the wall... the second guy gets ahead of me then brakes too hard & plows into the wall of the second turn... I steered around the wreckage and went on....... The next thing I see is the second guy (driving a very quick Mitsu IX) sliding across the track in front of me and into the wall on the third turn! I wish I could've gotten a video of it! Then they both quit! WTF!!!

Hell I'd much rather race the AI than to deal with some of these people online. I don't even really care about winning or losing but it would be nice to get around the track one or twice! :)

Make sure you have other GTP members on your friends list. See who's online. Open a private lobby & send out invites to them (assuming they're not playing Uncharted 2 :sly:)

(BTW: I sent 2 or 3 invites to you a couple of nights ago, & received no response.)

What tracks/cars do you like?

I mostly like the R8, Impreza mostly Tier 2 cars. As far tracks I like Road America, Laguna Seca , Donington GP, Autopolis GP and Toyko Road

(assuming they're not playing Uncharted 2 :sly: ) If I'm playing Uncharted 2 send me a text and I will come race :)
