race 1 Nordschleife this wasn't Flawless Victory but I'm dedicating it to SteveO

Just after we started this 3 lap race SteveO in the very first corner manage to overtake me, and shortly after that i hit his car unwittingly and caused him to spin and being hit by someone behind me. I did slow down so he could overtake me and regain his position, but i saw in my rear view mirror that someone else also crashed into him and while i cruised slowly waiting for him i saw that others profit from this situation and the time difference now was 8 seconds, so if i wait for him and let him to overtake me and then try to fight back i will lose to much time to leading pack of Manny arvore and HOG. So i hit acceleration pedal and decide to start crazy chase after HOG's butt. I saw immediately that time difference between me and Manny was 9 seconds so probably that was it! Just like i wrote earlier as i quote myself from earlier post

Ring is going to be very difficult race. If you aiming for top podium Finnish (well i am obviously) then make one small mistake and that's it. Your finished. Breaks are useless in this VW Scirocco, lucky however there are only four places to really brake Hard.

So knowing that Manny is fast so i forgot about him and focused on HOG, and i saw that arvore is close to him so maybe, just maybe ..... And crazy chase was on, i saw that slowly but regularly gap between me and those two is getting smaller and smaller, finally in Nurburg section i was so close to those two seating on HOG rear bumper i get to close and delicately bump his butt, that cause me to lose all that time that i gain back, AHGRRRR :ouch: But lucky for me Nurburg is tricky and HOG was not that quick so very quickly i regain that time. I didn't remember now where exactly i did overtake HOG but second lap was all about to catch arvore, and just shortly before Aremberg Bridge i did take his 2nd position in the race. That was very early stage of 2nd lap and Manny was five and a half second in front of me, so if no one stay between us two i started my lap record attempt.

5,5 Second lead was shorted to just 2 seconds in third lap and probably i would not take any chance to fight with Manny knowing that overtake him would be almost impossible but suddenly i saw his car spinning out of his control and that was it! I didn't have any mercy for his mistake. While i was like
hura.gif
he was like
zly.gif
That mistake cost Manny 5 seconds, so having that in my pocket i just relaxed and cruised to Finnish line.

That was definitely the best race I've ever had in this entire league and that one Extra lap did change exactly everything.

race 2 SPA started quite well from second place, along side with HOG he started in Pole Position, so i let him go first in Eau Rouge. Desperately want to avoid any contact/crash in the early beginning of this murdered race and just before Les Combes turns i gain the lead as HOG brake little to early allowing me to jump into first place. Shortly after that i saw arvore close behind me. Every time i gain a little time over him he did gain it back at Pouhon. But that was obvious for me since i post my practice post.

Yesterday i was unable to finish a 10 lap races without being kick out from EA 👎 Bud did some 2 hour practice on my own. As a result i cracked first Eau Rouge but still i am slow on Pouhon, breaking really hard and going inside rather then in outside, but still lap times are good.

And i knew that only systematic lap times would allow me to stay in the lead. So they were 2:21:xxx and between lap 6 and 7 i decided to try reach for best lap time. As i went really well in Les Combes with 175 km/h rest was promising and end up with satisfying time. I didn't want to risk my 7 second lead just to try go under 2:20:000 so i stay with that time.

race 3 Brands Hatch Indy i didn't expect any good result for myself on this track. Not that i don't know it well and not being practice but since arvore post his practice time 0:51:260 i had an enigma to solved to find the right car, FWD was not so ideal for this track so i sticked with Mazda. With my best time of 52:700 and average of 53:500 i just let it go any more practice. And the race it self was really pain in the ass. During fooling around in the brake every thing was smooth and fine. I've notice no slowdowns. But later in the race it was dreadful. I didn't enjoyed a single second of that race.

does anyone knows this guys cell number, maybe he had some good pictures? :)

Mannnn Reading all the messages today I gotta say that u guys r really into it. My only benchmark is arvore who I have beaten only once ever. I know I don't stand a chance but then I m so looking forward to racing u guys soon for the thrill & the pressure of racing in a league. By the how do I find out what tracks which car for the next race.

I will tell you were you overtook me it was when you forced me off the track coming off the straight into the slight jump you came up the inside even tho there was no room you still went you sent me wide off the track almost into the barrier then the car locked side ways and was heading towards the other side of the track and straight into the side of you the only reason i Kept it was becase of the manual H shift.

YET AGAIN I AM SECRAFICING MY POSITION TO OVID PEOPLE MAKING STUPID OVERTAKES.

But i am saying this now i f any one is going to make a risky stupid overtake like that then i am not making no room for you i am sticking to my line if you hit me and go off the track its your own fault for taking the risk i cannot say any fairer than that.

and the reason you caught up so quick darkos is becase i was not taking stupid risks on overtakes, and any one driving like that will know it is very hard to get an overtake with out contact becase of the lack of power in the cars so there for you have to make your overtakes very carefully so you tend to get stuck behind people.

my main concern was Stevo's PINK Focus ST since the only other guy i watched to manage to drop below the 53 secs was in the other group-adddictions

and that adddictions dude decided not to race the repsol golf and to run the MX5

Brands Hatch was a disaster with the same bad slowdown problems I had last Sunday at this track. Not to mention the difficulty I had trying to get past Aldo who always managed to have just enough speed to make a clean pass impossible. I think I spent the first half of the race fighting my way out of last place! And all this in a car that was easily capable of 52 second laps. So an ugly 4th for me here...
When they occur those slowdown problems really ruin any chance of enjoying this game, and I'm seriously considering trading-in my early copy of the game for one of a later build date in the hope that it will be better.
Well kudos to you for piling on the pressure and forcing me into a mistake 👍

MannyMoenjack
But all whining aside, a good weekend of racing, and my compliments to HOG who was very patient with all the restarts, breaks and disconnects. Well done man.
Yeah well done Hog. Especially for when I was DC right after the lights went green on Brands Hatch! Thanks

Bad choice my friend you should know better...and your Golf looks so awesome...pitty:ill:

just thought i could take a better line in the MX5 and had the grip to stay tight
i was close to only 1 person, femki after chasing his ST for many laps and evaluating his racing line and braking point i knew there was only 1 place i could pass
i could carry more speed round turn 1 and brake faster on turn 2 femki was taking turn 2 quite wide every lap so i guned it round turn 1 caught him dived for the inside, outbraked him and kept a well tight inside line.... but you'll have to wait for the video to see what happened next.
i ended up last anyway
the only race i was happy with was race 2 i managed to keep the gt on track and pull a nice 3rd
race 1 was crap even tho i came from last to pull 1st position i did not deserve to win i did so much better in practice and was disappointed my laps wasn't like those in practice

Don't really remember posting that, can you point it out to me because i can't find it...👍

I've posted:

I finnaly could drop my lap time a Spa to 2:22.260...

But i know that isn't enought to get a podium finish...

Why don't you give the Golf a try after some tweaking i managed to drop until 52.560...maybe Stevo has a battle between hands after all...

Ups, i remembered that someone did post that he did time under magical 53 seconds, i think it was you but that was SteveO. So sorry for confusion.

HOG, think i remember that overtake now, but i didn't felt any rumbling in my wheel that would indicate contact between us two. I did that maneuver assuming that there is enough space. There is no word for my mistake 👎 same thing for Manny's.

told my mrs i booked a table for today
she came down stairs looking rather sexy in her off the shoulder black dress, a subtle about of make up and enough sent to drown a house hold pet i'm a very very very lucky man
but think she was a little overdressed and her face dropped when we pulled up at the snooker club

now everyone has spotted the red writing at the bottom yes manny is online

Each person has their own racing style, some will take larger risks for small gains while others will be consistent and smooth gladly losing position knowing that they may benefit from others mistakes.

HOG, I see you as the latter - the gentleman of the track (although your videos say otherwise! :)). Myself, I'm a bit on the other end. I'll defend my position so long as my opponent is behind me. It's up to them to pass, right? And if I can make it as difficult as possible, so be it. However, if I see you rocketing up on me, well, it's obvious there is no chance and I'll gladly make room. As for taking risks, yeah I do that too sometimes when the adrenaline is pumping.

I guess what I'm trying to do with this post is just give another perspective. I don't think you should go out of your way to make room for people and risk going off track.

Basically, the way I see it is... You have the right to be on the racing line at all times. (Not the game's racing line, the line a driver takes to get around the track fastest)

Unless I'm being lapped I don't move over for anyone. If someone wants to get past me they'll have to work at it.

Now don't misunderstand, that's not the same as blocking. I won't deliberately move to prevent a pass.

The only time I will move over and sacrifice the fast line is when I feel that the other guy is obviously faster, and letting him past might prevent a wreck from taking us both out.

is the racing line not slightly different in different cars?
ie FWD/RWD

Yes. It definately is, but the guy in front of you has the right to be on the line he and his car need to get around the track the fastest. It's up to you (the guy behind him) to set your car up to make the pass. Or pressure him into making a mistake.

yeh this is true i'm good at pressurising

The problems occur when people start thinking, "if I take too long passing this guy the leader is going to be too far ahead to catch." So they become reckless in their hurry to move to the front. That's what ends up making people angry.

I don't care if I'm struggling to get out of last place, or trying to take the lead. I try to always make clean passes, even though I know that taking the extra time to be careful may put me out of any possiblity of winning. Those are the breaks. I like winning, but I like racing more.

yes i found myself side by side with femki on brands hatch coming out of turn 2 so i was on the inside for turn 3 but lifted off the throttle to let femki through being the sporting person i am. i had a crap 1st position on race 1 and a good 3rd on race 2 so wasn't to fussed on race 3

Man you're inspired today...:) I agree with every point you've made i also try to hold my position doing defensive inner racing lines when someone is racing next to my rear bumper...but if he gets side by side with me i stick to my trajectory and don't deliberely,at least, move over to block the pass, and when i feel a turtle to the driver behind me and know he'll pass me anyway at some point i just move over and let him pass...
When overtaking, manouvre i only take when i think i'm faster then the guy in front of me and if he doesn't make a mistake after cooking up some pressure i try to find a secure spot-a straight or coming out of a corner faster...but this is all theorechtical in concrete we all pull stupid moves on track at anypoint...so enought talk:lol:

BRING ON THOSE VIDEOS 👍
