tonight was a disgrace for me, the re race at silverstone i was blinded most of the way round the track becase of a car in front blowing out smoke the hole race.

and now since stating my save game i find that all the places were i suffered bump jump now are fine and all the places i did not have bump jump now have bump jump just great now i have to change all my racing line and re learn all the tracks:grumpy:

The current Standings, Group Assignments and Race Schedule for Season 2, Week 4 have been posted on page 1 of this thread.

Please check your totals, as it's been a rather hectic weekend... :boggled:

When the league races were announced Monday I was pretty stoked since it was the first time I didn't have to learn a track I didn't know. Today I had my best week yet and a big thank you goes out to the Invisable Mechanic. If it wasn't for his tutelage on Brands Hatch GP and the recommendation of the Corvette at Donnington my weekend wouldn't have turned out so well.

Race one Silverstone

This track is my favorite track and the only track on the circuit that I feel like I can hang with anybody. I've literally put in over a 1000 laps on my Zonda dissecting every turn and angle trying to chase the exclusive 1:37. The race started with me on pole position and I knew if I could get out in front it would be hard to run me down. Everything was working according to plan until the start of lap 5, the dreaded you have lost your connection message appeared sending me into temporary insanity. I've been lucky all this time never being booted and can now see why it drives people so insane.

Race 2 Brands Hatch GP

This track is one of my self proclaimed demon track and I put 70% of my practice time this week trying to come to terms with it. I started in the middle and was lucky to find myself in first place after a couple of drivers came together fighting for first place. The battle was so intense behind me it let me build up a sizable lead because I never ran better than a 1.39 until lap 9.

Race 3 Donnington

When I seen the choice of cars on the grid a little smile came over me. I knew running the Vette was almost a unfair advantage. My best time in practice this week with my EVO was 1.35, the Vette will cut about 3 seconds off any drivers time at Donnington as long as you can come to terms with corner entry. Again I was lucky with pole position and built up a sizable advantage since the field was at a disadvantage because no rated 10 car can hang with the Vette at Donnington.

Re-race Silverstone

This raced made me nervous because it had an all star line up and I found myself dead last on the starting grid. The race started off uneventful enough but i learned through the headset that one of my major competitors was having serious frame rate problems. As I worked my way up to second is when the race got real frustrating for me. For the first time in my league career I got punted in a corner where passing is not advised. As I slid through the grass I was hot but decided to let it go. About one lap later I caught up to the same driver and executed a clean pass as he got a little sideways, thinking my problems were behind me I set my sights on the leader but on the very next corner I got punted again! Now my temperature gauge was at a all time high as I caught up to the same driver one lap later and was actually entertaining the idea of doing a little punting myself. Thank god he went into the grass because I know I would have felt guilty if I had executed such a move.

By the time I reeled in the leader it was at the end of lap nine, I thought I made a clean pass but as I looked in my rear view mirror I could see he was stuck in the same place and realized his stoppage must have been my doing. So I stopped to let him re-pass me and followed him on lap 10 thinking 2nd place was inevitable since I wasn't about to try another pass unless I seen a mistake. But then 3/4 of the way through lap 10 I caught a major brake as he came in a little to hot on a corner and caught his wheel on sand and I was able to make a clean pass. Thank god this weekend's over because the range of emotions on the re-race would make me an old man in a hurry

Triple 9 is very impressive Ricky. Well done.👍

Yeah, the re-race at Silverstone was a complete disaster for me with the framerate problems. It improved a little bit about halfway through the race (I think addictions dropped out). To show how bad the slowdown bug affects my gameplay... most of the race I couldn't do any better than a 1:58.xx lap time. On lap 9 I managed a 1:56xx... In practice during the week with you arvore and others I rarely was slower than 1:53.xx.

I might just delete my current Career and start over in hopes that will remove whatever is causing the problem.

Even without the headset I could tell you were having some serious issues because every time I raced you & Arvore this week one mistake would cost me the race. My recommendation would be to bite the bullet and get another Shift since GT5 is a year away. My game is track penalty sensitive but I've never experienced a slow down or frame rate issue.

P.S. My PS3 is a new generation slim design. Could a older version of Playstation have anything to do with the slow down or frame rate issues?

That was my concern when I first experienced the slowdowns in Single Player Career mode. (this was back in October). Since then I've seen people with both the older and newer machines complaining about the same problem.

I actually think it has something to do with the G25 Wheel. Of the people who complain about framerate/slowdown problems the vast majority have G25's. I've complained to EA and received a generic answer to delete my same game and start over. My follow-up questions went unanswered.

My only question is... can I delete my saved game files and earn the Aston Martin DBR9 by the weekend? I doubt it with my schedule...

im think ratio 6 cars is the true race! bicose time for see all coners! olso prevent the faut from the traks l, im min sam times is not posebel see the coner good! bat is normal, in the real is laik this!!! im heve setups 6 ratio for abalt 4 cars, for my is perfect seups!! faster handling. bat for my the best setup im heve is gtr v35!! im op verry soner sam races ratio 14. best for all players nex week in tokio club.olso ratio 6 car =-)

Yes, but this is going to be pain in your ***. There is two ways to obtain DBR 9 in fast way. You have to reach level 50, that mean gain 500,000 points.

Either you are excellent drifter which i doubt. So forget about hard way!

And chose easy way, Go to options and set for Easy game level, then go to Quick Race/Miyatomi/Race for 20 laps /and Bash/hit/spin/dirty overtake as many cars as you can! In this way you can do around 9800 pts points, thats my record. And in drift mode you can obtain even more pts points. As you see, you can do this in just Two days and not go totally mental.

Now 20 laps in Lambo LP640 takes around 4 minutes and 50 seconds, in this way after 50 minutes you should have close to 100.000 points. This is only and fast way i know to reach Level 50.

Well after last night i am going to buy another copy of shift, as i am sick of these problems arising all the time, like last night that stupid car in front blowing out smoke all round the track i was totally blinded at the best of times.

But i am not convinced on deleting and restarting the save game a i have done mine and i find i have a hole new host of problems to work around its so annoying i have had to pritty much change all my lines on the nurburgring with the Zonda, all the places that were fine now have terrible bump jump.
And its not because of the tuning as i always have and always will drive the nurburg with the stock tune zonda (way more of a exciting drive).

And i am about 15 places from level 50 so i need to get some work done =(

And as for the G25 part done ven say that again becase if this G25 turned out to be the problem i will not play shift again as i can not and will not go back to the hand held pad no way!!!

Nothing wrong with the pad mate 👍

I cannot do it mate bin trying i just dont get any buzz at all, and that is all i play games for racing games dont play any thing else the only reason i own a ps3 is the steering wheel my hole gaming world revolves around the G25 so if turnes out to be the problem looks like am stuck untill the next nfs or gt 5 comes out =(

Deleting save game won't help, either changing game copy!! Slowdowns problems are caused not by game, they are much more caused by Playstation 3 Firm Ware.

My story is that in October, shortly after Shift was released i had problems but not so many. I had them in Tier 4, but immediately after upgrading FW which was mandatory to play on line i saw that from that time i find much more problems in Tier 1, 2, 3, and 4. Off course some races were fine but it was much worse that before i did upgrade. I did my career in twice, in two different Shift copies. One released on Poland and one released in UK. Didn't help. Save Game did not match those two copies so i had to reach level 50 all again. I lost around 2.000.000 pts points so now i would have 5.000.000 if i would not sell my first copy.

I did checked how this slowdowns work while i use ps3 pad and unfortunately i had them also, but I'm referring now to single player and not to on line gaming.

Sadly I'm stuck with playing racing games on my ps3, but to be honest after i was removed from further Leaguer races, i don't see myself playing for my own pleasure, maybe i will play duels 1 on 1/ time trial laps like those with Ricky Racer. No I'm just waiting until first week of March and see what's coming in next DLC for ps3. Rumors said that is New McLaren Mp4 12C, Mercedes SLR McLaren Stirling Moss, Maserati GTS, Gumpert Apollo, BMW M1, Alfa Romeo 8C and Honda NSX. But those maybe also only for x360, no one know for sure, ill have to wait and see for myself.

Next on my list is V8 Superstars Next Challenge, didn't like firs one but maybe they improve that game in such significant way that i would like it. It's still racing game.

well i just bought i brand new copy of shift have not tried it yet tho so hopefully it will make a different.

and darkos i think deleting the save game can work but in most cases you just get a hole host of different problems.

no matter what we are all going to have problems with shift just some will have more problems than others.

hey manny if you delete your save game give me a pm and i will set up an online race were we can turn it into a destruction derby as i know the perfect track its the figure of 8 one not sure on the name then set you AI to easy and put on all assits and 20 laps with max players then just go crazy mate smash mash crash those suckers into the wall this way you will gain points quick.

Hi All,

I will be there this coming weekend, had to miss ths weekend due to family illness. Week 3 would have been perfect for me as I normally race the British tracks with ShamAlert. So I will be practicing week 4's tracks every evening this week, if anybody wants to join me.

Any recomendations for a Rating 6 car for London??? credit is no problem, I have loads as I normally race manufacturer.

Anyway, i did it and did that only for obtaining every trophy in game but since i discovered that on line gaming is much better i stopped playing single player. There was no way to obtain every star in that game, maybe in x360 or on PC but not in PS3. Sucks but i did get over it!

Hog,

Instead of working and paying the bills. I have been watching your video's all morning, how do you record the PS3?

Darkos is right, its a firmware problem, also a framerate problem, my advice, deleting save game wont work, deleting game data wont work either, Hog found out, just exchanging one set of headaches for another, doesn't matter if you use a wheel or a pad, same issues occur. wait until after next dlc see what happens, maybe things will smooth out, deleting everything is just making more work for yourself.

:lol: well get ready for a new one i am making my best one yet to go on the main page of the thread. and i use a camcorder sitting on a unit behind my cockpit and record it that way.
It would have been good if EA let us save online race replays

He is totally rite about the save game but my new copy of shift does not have slow down on the last 3 corners of laguna seca unlike my other copy , the only way to minimize chances of frame rate problems is by making less data for the ps3 to have to load online IE all vinyls striped off all cars sell any cars you do not use, untune and turn back to standard the bonus cars things like this.
I did this and i have to say i did notice a difference for 2 or 3 races untill i started to fill up my cars with stickers and stuff now its back.

Nice week there ricky, for the first time you get classification points that suits your driving skills man.👍
And i guess my "it takes pratice theory" was confirmed since you managed the 1:51,xx at Silverstone GP afterall...:)

Manny as i suggest yesterday before erasing your game data you should do a test to see if thats any good...try to create a new ps3 user-say Mannytheman:lol: for instance- and when logged with new user give a try to see if you have some slowdown problems or not,to avoid all that bashing and puntting scene that a quick profile evolution seems to involve-and that i know for you would be a sacrifice doing:drool: arghh!!!!-you should go online with the new user profile join the guys in a race with tier 4 and 5 cars-in manufacturer you'll get which ever car the host chooses-and see if that is any good to the frame rate issues your dealing with...

HELLO HOST

👍

Javed my man i would like to strongly advice you to hardwire your ps3 directly into the modem, surpassing the router to get at least a type 2 Nat connection to provide a steady lobby for the weekend,i always do that for the events, despite being a relly arse pain to have a 20 metter ethernet cable throught my living room with dogs involved:scared:, and if you do you'll see you'll have a much more stable connection, but even then it's not D/C free👍

You absolutely right! It takes practice and pressure from opponents 👍

This makes a lot of sense to me since i've experienced little framerate/slowdown problems in my shift carrer:dunce::) and i don't have vinyls in my cars-i'm a lousy artist ( adddictions) only have a PINK GALLARDO IN STEVETTE'S HONOR:D:P- and only a few of them-the league one's-are tuned and upgraded...so probably a less amount of data for the ps3 to process should implie less framerate issues, but with SHI(F)T we never really know...:indiff::nervous::ill:👎

There you are! I was wondering why you didnt turn up.

I can see you are getting in to the groove..... practice an all :)

I think thats the best bit about this league. What I enjoy the most is the build up duing the week before the race. The practice, discussions etc etc
Speaking of which I wouldnt be online until probably thursday.

Dooooooooooooooooooood, noted. Will hardwire. However, I do get a stable 8mbps most of the time.

The cool part of being the host is that if i get booted no one races :)
