Am I correct in saying that you can't tune the reward cars?
I cannot wait till tomorrow!
15laps at Donington though... wow!

No, reward cars can't be tuned.

Fifteen laps is a lot, but in the GT3 RSR the lap times at Donington are less than a minute and a half each, so it'll be a shorter race than three laps of the Nordschliefe would be. Still a long race I agree, but hopefully people will realize that gives them more time to make clean passes. There are two 180 degree hairpins in the GP track which are excellent spots to setup the guy in front for a clean pass.

I hate to see people have their race ruined because they are shunted off the track in the first corner. If it does happen that you are bumped off the track (in other words not your fault), I encourage you to hit Reset to put your car back on the track. If you go off through your own error, please drive back onto the track. OK everyone?:)

Ok, thought not. I just didn't want to be disadvantaged :P
That sounds good to me Manny 👍
Ah ok, 15 laps is alright then :)

Maybe YOU can do it under a buck thirty.

Under a 1:30, Manny you really just hurt my feelings.

Well, when I get under a 1:30 it's a good lap. I probably run mostly in the 1:30-1:31's in the RSR, but the 1:29 kinda stuck in my head when I wrote that post, and I always assume I'm not the quickest guy out there. :embarrassed:

If you did 1:29 then you assumed correctly this time 👍, at least thats better then mine record of 1:30:980

My average is 1:31:500, so this is gonna be really great race. Can't wait.

I was doing some "training" with NC_2_VA the other night with the chicane at Donington GP. Sounds like I'm going to need some training of my own! I'll try to be on tonight for some practicing. Maybe you can show me a faster way around the track?

I know I'm going to bomb Silverstone, you trounced me by 40 seconds the other day.. I just don't know my way around the track - can't see the apexes and I haven't memorized the track at all.

Ebisu West should be really interesting. REALLY interesting!

I've already written off Ebisu, I don't have chance in h*ll on that track. I'm putting all my focus on donignton and silverstone, hoping to atleast put up a good fight there.

Hey guys, it seems that hosts are jinxed in this series. I can make the first two races but will have to duck out at about 5:45.. dinner invite for some homemade chili. Good thing Silverstone is last. Can someone in my lobby take over for me?

Is that the DBR9 race? If so I can't help. If its the Porsche one then I'll do it, going to play a good bit tomorrow to get to level 40 so I can race the Porsche :)

Sorry not in your lobby.

I had some great fun with mainly NC_2_VA tonight. SteveO joined in for a couple of races as well. The races between me and NC were so close though. I'll try and get a video or two up on youtube tomorrow.
Quick random question: what type of headset do the guys that have them here use?
Thanks

I have a wireless Playstation headset that usually works fairly well, but something around here seems to interfere with the signal. So, I went out and got the Turtle Beach P21 headset/mic, and I love it. But it isn't cheap.

It was $79 here but I used a Christmas Gift Certificate so it wasn't painful. The headset has very good sound as long as you don't turn the bass up too loud.

Femki, I'll take over your last race, no problem. 👍

By the way you and NC are handling "that funny little Porsche" pretty well!

Yeah, I've heard those are very good! £50 is more than I want to spend though just now! I use an ethernet cable for my PS3 internet so I can go for one of the wireless ones :)

Yup, I've learned to NOT cut an apex with your tires on a curb. The RSR will bounce me right into the sand. Otherwise it's a wonderful car.

We played the regular GT3 on Donington GP last night and it was a completely different animal, a lot less "civilized".

i use the official playstation head set after using multiple cheap headsets i found this to be the best budget head set.

That's what I like about the RSR, the suspension is very well sorted out. As long as you don't get on the throttle too quickly, it'll 4-wheel drift beautifully. Once you upset the suspension however (like on the curbs), it loses the rear very quickly.

The regular GT3 isn't nearly as well set up or balanced. It's pretty good, but it like you said it isn't as predictable.

I think I MAY just be competitive on this track finally. Put in a few quick laps this morning at Donington and pulled a 1:30.462. The trick was to be smoother and work with the car instead of thrashing it around the track. I actually felt slower and was shocked when I was watching the timer and crossed the line.

Listening to ones own advice FTW! :dopey:

That's and under statement.

Yeah, it sure was a handful, but once you got to know the car was wild it was a lot easier to keep in check.. just like that Koenigsseggggessegggggggg around Laguna.

Every time I put in a really fast lap, on any track, in any car, it's always because I'm not trying to go fast. It's almost always a surprise.

Actually that's why I often don't do well in the League races. I try too hard and it inevitably wrecks my rhythm and smoothness. When it's just a few of us fooling around online, I do much closer to what I'm really capable of because I'm much more relaxed. (Hmmm, maybe I should do what HOG and SteveO do... throw down a couple of beers before race time.)

I did that, and finally got under 1:30 barrier. But for me Red Bull do the trick.

I'll take your place in the third race if it's O.K. with everybody else, it will give me a chance to get my feet wet in pro mode online racing :)
