With the kings out of the way and silly hawks not pulling it together I can see Dallas, they are the best in many stats however I will be rooting the sharks.

Of course I want the pens, caps are cool and lightening are a serious threat. There would be no great disappointment for me in the east if the pens can't get it done, I'm a strange NY'er who likes the isle more than the range, caps don't bother me either. The only thing I do not want to see is those damn blues holding the cup :P

This is going to be a good game today 👍

sharks pens ftw
I like the Islanders more than the Rangers.

And why so much hate for the Blues? What did they ever do to you?

That was a brutal hit, let's be honest. Three games may not seem like enough, but considering this is the playoffs- where you may or may not have your season last as long, it's fair. It isn't exactly a slap on the wrist of a penalty.

From my previous post, I made the edit reflecting who won Game 2 of the PIT-WAS series. I know I say I'm crazy, but I am human, and humans make mistakes. Now go enjoy Game 3 of the WAS at PIT series already! :sly:

Interesting they ruled on it today and not yesterday or immediately after the game..
He has the right under the Collective Bargaining Agreement to a hearing before the NHL Department of Player Safety. Besides, he really didn't fight it, and has since apologized to Maatta for the hit.

Letang better get a game or two for the hit on Johansson. Stupid, stupid hit.
I am positive he will be getting at least a game maybe two. It was pretty nasty.

Murray played one hell of a game. I only watched the last half of the last period. And boy did he shine. Excellent. And geez the sustained pressure by the Caps was insane. Not just keeping in the zone though, they were firing pucks hard! That damn #8 had some great shots as always. I though for sure that his original shot in the end of the third period was in the goal at first...

Anyways, I am glad to see the Pens with the series advantage because I have a feeling the Caps will explode Wednesday.

Game 3 between Washington at Pittsburgh ends up as a 3-2 victory by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Call me crazy, but the atmosphere was as intense as a Pittsburgh Steelers football game. Almost like someone brought Steelers football to a hockey arena. Pens still took down the Caps to take a 2-1 series lead with the next game on Wednesday in Pittsburgh.

As off-topic/lighthearted material, I enjoy listening to "Doc" Emrick and his witty commentary. He brings such a unique perspective to games as well as stuff not related to hockey. I'm usually pleased to know if he'll be calling games. He did call this match in Pittsburgh between the Capitals at the Penguins.

Congrats to the Penguins. More action tomorrow night, so get psyched!

It's time to drop the puck on some more playoff hockey games. We got three games tonight:

* TB Lightning at NYI Islanders (series tied 1-1)
* SJ Sharks at NSH Predators (Sharks lead series 2-0)
* DAL Stars at STL Blues (series tied 1-1)

Enjoy tonight's action if you'll be following.

I don't like the games being at the same time if that is the case, I do have a tevo however and I strangely feel compelled to turn on the stars/blues right off and record the sharks.

You could always watch the games on NBCSN too on a computer or tablet

Bad news for any potential expansion team in Seattle. The city council voted 5-4 yesterday against the sale and closure of a portion of Occidental Avenue South that would have been a part of a site for a new arena for any potential expansion team of the NBA and NHL.

Man. That stinks for Seattle. This city doesn't NEED an NBA or NHL team, but I'd love for the city to have such teams in that fine city.

Washington and Pittsburgh will resume their playoff series tonight. They are the only game on tonight. It's Pittsburgh who lead the series 2-1 and could lead 3-1 if they hold down the Capitals yet again. Or, the Capitals could tie the series 2-2 and force a Game 6. What will happen tonight? We'll find out whether we have a tied series or a chance for PIT to close out the Capitals.

Enjoy tonight's game.

Penguins/Caps is such a good series to watch. They both seem so evenly matched and have seemed evenly matched since the initial puck drop of the first game.

Pound the alarm, Washington Capitals? It ain't looking good for WAS as the Caps lost 3-2 to Pittsburgh. This game needed Overtime to be settled, though. This is a real competitive series with each game decided by only one goal. Fun series. But again- Washington must be thinking, "oh, damn... not this s:censored: again..." Washington is now going to have to win out the rest of this series to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. Another Washington collapse is what fans would fear.

Congratulations to Pittsburgh on a job well done. The Penguins could move a bit closer to playing for Lord Stanley's Cup if they defeat Washington one last time.
