People will rag on it for a while, but eventually it'll be forgotten. In the last lockout-shortened season ('94-'95), the Devils won the cup. Initially, Rangers fans joked about how the Rangers won a real cup in '94, and the Devils won a half a cup in '95, but over the years it just blends into the years and people forget.
If anything, I think it's more impressive. The NHL season is too long IMO, and by the time the playoffs roll around everyone is worn down and is nursing injuries. After 48 games, players will be even more intense and prepared for the playoffs. 48 games is enough that everyone is in top form, but not so many that everyone is injured and exhausted from an 82 game grind. Depends on the team too, if the Canucks finally win one, they'll get ripped on for not winning a real cup yet. Sports fans will be sports fans, but just like the Devils the 48 game cup win will blend into the others and the half season will be forgotten.
