There are no manufacturers dumb enough to waste money in F1.

GT cars are nothing like F1 cars. Audi is smart in not joining. It would be an humbling experience. Look at Jaguar/Toyota/BAR-Honda. Renault being the exception, but they did buy Benetton. Porsche doesn't have the resources to compete.

Let me rephrase that. No manufacturers currently not participating in F1 are dumb enough to waste money in F1.

Spending $300m+ a year to start as backmarker/midfield team, and what do they get in return? Toyota joined, because they were desperate to change their image. Just until the podium at Sepang, Toyota was ready to discuss pulling out of F1. Renault team has also been told to bring in results or they'll quit. Of course, Jaguar... they're gone now.

There was a meeting after Malaysia with the Toyota guys and luckily Toyota F1 could bring that podium to the meeting and tell the company to STFU

ah i see...ya its not a good business case at this point...F1 needs stability in the regs and an even playing field...imagine how great this series would be if the costs and problems could be reduced enough that all car manufacturers could participate...
