Nissan hints to a new RWD sportscar?

Did they have to get freaking mexican Michael Cera to introduce the car on the show? Jesus, was that guy starstruck or what? Meekazoid.

Right now this thing looks like a total clown car. But, pull a few things out, squish some things back, an adjustment or two here and there, and it'd look pretty darn good.

I never noticed the side exhaust before. :dunce: Looks nice.

About the only thing that makes the car seem cool, but misplaced when you actually look at the entire car and not that one piece. If I were to want Nissan to build anything it'd have to be a Sports Sedan with a V8 that echos their Supercar but that's just me

The Freeflow looks better of the two, I reckon. Both inside and out. The Nismo is a bit too cartoonish. Would look better without the BRE graphics and weird bolted-style arches.

It was also better before Nissan glued its stupid corporate Nissan grille badge on there. The original concepts as they were launched in Tokyo look better without the chrome monstrosity on the front.

You're nuts. The freeflow looks like a piss ice cube.
I like the colour scheme. Retro and works well with the car's lines. Just has nicer details than the Nismo - the four-spoke wheels, the denim interior, the lack of overdone flares. Headlights look better too, closer to the 510 and Hakosuka look they seem to have been going for.

I agree the Freeflow looks better
would like to see it in a diferent color though, like black with diferent colored interior aswell.

Edit:
(I just gave myself a photoshop idea 💡)

Colour I'd most like to see it in is a light blue, similar to the 510 in the Leno vid further up. I'd say metallic brown too for a real retro touch, but in my head I can see that brown wouldn't work so well with the grey elements on the above design - they'd need to be a lighter shade (simple contrast principles - as the body gets darker, contrast panels need to get lighter).

@homeforsummer: in that regard, yes. But, damn, those "3-d" panels have got to go. The floating roof and c pillar and all that... just terrible.

Okay, now I definitely want one in light blue. I reckon orange would work well too. 1970s ALL THE THINGS!

Nah, I like those too. I expect they will be toned down for production, but for me the 3D panels give it character. I've not properly analysed the design yet but I suspect they do a lot more for the car's proportions than initially meets the eye. Impression I got from the Leno vid was that the car is actually quite tall and squat, but in the Freeflow particularly with its slimmer arches it looks a lot more compact than it probably is.

I would grab a freeflow for commutes and a nismo for fun. Picking up the big brother for track sessions.

Think you could try to make the grey sections and the white body colour? Like say a Sunbird Orange or Leaf Green? Nice work you did there, by the time these are production ready I will likely be in the market for one.

If it'd be easier either of the colours you used already would be fine as well. Just trying to picture it.

I'll give it a shot, can't guarantee the colors will be perfect though :D

Edit:
Really rough job but just to get an idea

It has a stupid name, and looks about as idiotic as a Nissan Cube. It also looks less aerodynamic than retro muscle cars. There's no way these will sell well in the US.

I hope they prove you wrong. And I for sure will be purchasing one, most likely a Nismo version. I can't wait to drive them, which I will get to do before everyone else. :D

Car is not long enough for fender mirror brah. Besides, I need big mirror so I can see all the ratchet drivers in south florida.

Thanks for that valuable contribution. Next time you feel like making such a profound statement, please do feel free to do so elsewhere.
Looksie, I fixed it:
That does work pretty well actually. I'd keep the front and rear ends of the original though - I still reckon they're a huge part of the car's character and giving it bog-standard wraparound lights would be a bit of a shame.

Cars without wraparounds are a hazard. They're also ugly.

Sorry that was for the car.Not for your opinion.

I'm with liking the Freeflow better, although another colour would be nice.

The one thing about the design I'm not so keen on is the slab-sided-ness of it. It feels to me a bit like the bottom of the doors should curve in more. 120Ys and the like had a distinct curve to the side of them, or at least that's the way I remember them.

Its ok but i think the 2 tones look better. Just think DS3 racing, mini cooper and Vauxhaul Adam. Both these with black roof, skirts and hood would be my choice.
