Mother****ers.

Right when I'm getting to the time when I can start modifying my car they introduce all that **** :grumpy:.

So Vince, whats new with the GTR, anything?

Not too much at the moment. I've replaced the factory head unit with a Sony CD player though one of the lower entry level ones. I only need to listen to cd's.

I should be getting new tyres in two weeks. there goes another $1,500 out of the bank account . uuugggghhh. These Nankengs SuXoRs big time and even though they are 255's I am still getting out of shape in the wet at over 150kph. Can be a bit scary when you put your foot into it and the back starts to drift out. I will probablly go with Toyo T1S proxies which are are over $300 a tyre plus GST and wheel alignment.

Car isn't making anymore power still around the 450-475 hp mark. I will wait until I see some langauge in the up and coming bill before I decide what to do.

not sure mate. My clutch is now over 1 1/2 years old and paddle clutches don't usually last that long. It will be after my trip to wellington coming up labour day weekend for sure.

ok the NUR spec...I was wondering about it and found this. 24th January 2002, Nissan released GTR V-specII Nür. / M-specNür. for the final spec of GTR34.
This model is named after the famous track "Nurburgring" where the GTR's were develpped as a token of Nissan's gratitude and reverence to Nurburgring.
Nurburgring is the best place to develop the GTR's including GTR32, GTR33 and GTR34 that the car try to realize the "Ultimate Driving Pleasure".
V-specII Nür./M-specNür. has N1-based Engine. N1-based engine is the homorogation engine for the Super Endurance Race(Gr.N).
The Super Endurance Race's regulation is very stricted for its modification, but the N1-based engine enabled to produce up to 330kW(450ps).
This reliable engine provided 50 straight victory in the category.
And this N1-based engine for Nür. edition has gold coloured head cover and it shows this engine is very special.
You can feel difference between this special balanced engine and the other RB26DETT.
This engine will be delivered to only 1,000 owners.
This model is the limited edition of 1,000 and they were sold out at the day of press release.

450 PS? stock? woo hoo!

The remarkable difference between the standard RB26DETT engine and this special engine is material of the turbochargers.
Nür. edition uses N1-based roller bearing metal turbochargers instead of the standard ceramic turbochargers.
This turbocharger provides remarkable performance at high revs compared with standard turbochargers.
Further, Nür. edition has N1-based reinforced engine block, N1 based reinforced piston and con-rods, N1-based piston rings, N1-based oil pump, N1-based water pump, N1-based exhaust manifold and N1-based reinforced intercooler rubber hose.
Furthermore, this engine is hand made at the Nissan racing engine division(NISSAN KOHKI), and they uses balanced pistons, conrods and crankshaft.
It is very similar scheme to making racing engine.

look at all those parts! think of all the money you save!

Nür. edition has 300km/h full-scaled speedos.
...gonna need those!

M-spec Nür. has hand made leather interior instead of standard fabric interior.

leather too! I'm sold! If I'm gonna blow 100,000 then I might as well get the NUR right? and hey in a couple of years the price will be even lower!

Ah the experts come out to play. You reckon? If you were to buy each part to make an R34, it would cost you 1 1/2 times as much to buy it brand new.

Hey, I saw an R34 GTR on friday, in Burbank, CA! I thought it was a ricer, until it came up alongside me and passed, and I saw the RHD and the back end, which was obviously real.

I've seen quite a few R34 GT-T's but no GTR yet :(

Hopefully I'll see and have a drive in an R32 GTR, I just have to find somebody that owns one ;)

:D

Ive only seen two around Wellington. Two silver ones. One of them was for sale lately with the number plate ACDC, while the other one drives around frquently, and was at the Autosaloon show.

Ohh, and Jonah Lomus one, although I haven't seen it.

In the back of NZ Autocar this month, they have one for sale that they drove. No. plate NISSMO

Hey guys,

do any of you guys know what parts i should get for my old FD?
i'm only limited to 20k so i need to know what the best parts are right now for dat much thx

its a 95' FD

Bullet I've always said I think they over charge for the compliance. That is a personal opinion mind you. I kow as an example you can purchase an R32 in Japan for around 10K USD dependant on mods done and milage.

i think i've decided not to get a nissan 200 now. and just wait until next year when i've saved up enough cash for an R32 or R33. personally i think the 32 looks badass and i've been informed they are faster than 34's when stock. either way im sure i wont be disappointed.

Um, I think you guys were mis informed. Here's the short version on importing a skyline.

You go to Japan and get an R32 for 10K USD. That part is true. What I don't think you understand is that you must go through customs to get it into the US. You get a tax because it's an import. You get taxed because it's not a native US car. You get taxed for this and that and this and that. Then shipping. Then you have to wait a month and get this and that registered. Then taxed again. Of course this is an exaggeration ( a little one ) but when all is said and done, you're going to pay the cost of the car again just to get it into the US. Then you get the car legalized, which is another 10-15 grand through motorex. So, in essence, when all is said and done, you've just paid 30-35k to legalize the car when you could've paid 3-5K more and had them do all the paperwork (and believe me, from what I hear, there is a mound of it), deal with the stupid customs people, get you a good car, and be done with it. And by the way, regardless of how you get it registered, it will be about 6 months before you get a drivable car. Anyhow, I hope this doesn't spoil anyone's dreams, cause after I get a MKIV Supra and get finished doing what I want to it, I will have a skyline.

*edit* The price quote is for a (relatively) low milage R32.

*edit* Nightmage, I'm not sure if that applies to you, as Skylines were actually imported to your country, I think. Let me know. Thanks.

Actually most of that 6 month withholding period is california specific and since I won't be driving it cali I don't have to worry about it. I'd also rather keep the 3-5K and do the paper work myself...I wonder if it would be cheaper to bring up through mexico? I realize that bringing it to the US would still be very expensive but even so It would be cheaper than paying motorex directly for it. Not to mention that motorex can't keep R34's in stock at all, as soon as they get them theyre gone....

Grrrrrrrrrr.

Damn cars. Well the GTR goes back to the tuners tomorrow. Hasn't been there in a while but this morning when I started it, it was running on 5 cylinders! I thought good greif what did I do now.
turns out one of my fuel injectors has packed as major sad. The really bad thing is it is leaking which means I am getting a firing cycle but it is very lean. Not good. So in saying that odds are if it is only plugged sweet otherwise it will have to be replaced.

Looking for 550cc injectors as that is a nice little upgrade but doubt I will score a set while the others are out. If so could see a healthy incrase of another 15-20kw and more when I do turbos.

Keep you informed.

Try ebay for what? Injectors? I need the right impeadance and also to have them checked for flow and integraty before i buy second hand ones.

Sweet, that means that I don't have to wait for one that long in ohio. I don't know about getting an R34 though. Not yet anyway...........................but when it happens, I'll be sure to post pics. Good luck on that skyline. And you HAVE to post pics when you get one.
