Yes and unfortuneatly unlike in the states when you want to modify your car here with body kits, gauges, mags etc, most insurance companies will throw a major wobbly because it becomes a theft magnet. Considering it already has 17X8 Momo GT2 alloys which are worth $2,500 NZD on it and the Blitz alloys are valued at $4,400 NZD they wouldn't cover them unless they put an additional $1,500 theft excess or copay on them! That is ontop of my current excess which would put it over $2,300 hardly worth my bother.

BAH...screw them why do they need to know? I mean how often does your insurance agent actually LOOK at your car? Unless you wreck it....then switch the rims back ;)

I went to that Auto Saloon show today (I think its called that) and saw a **** load of R32 GTRs (over 10) and my goal is to buy a completly original one within 10 years. There was that VL Commodore with the RB26DETT in it, and also a nice silver/purple/grey R34 GTR as well.
Ohh, and a mint R31

Best Japanese cars ever

So I have no life...I spend all my time on GTP...I'm willing to bet all of those poest probably mentioned the GTR too :D

speaking of rims I found an awsome deal! I LOVE the volk GTC rims but at over 3200 dollars I cant afford them :( However I did find these! THe look about the same and check this out: You get ALL 4 rims with tires PLUS a FREE set of springs (which you would need anyway) FREE shipping and FREE rim repair! all for only $499. USD! can't beat that!

Don't forget to check out the new 1/4 mile record in the other thread I started. Also just to add to that. The Croydon GTR is now the quickest car on street tyres in Australasia, (includes New Zealand and Australia), quickest 4wd car, and quickest 6 cylinder car in Australasia.

Go the mighty GTR!

Bah, but I found this picture awhile back on Ray's website... lost the link, so I up-loaded it... it's sooooooooooooooooooo nice!!! Love the nice clean white Skyline look, and the Gold wheels with them fat lips... :HOTT:

I wish I could afford a Skyline, but I'm poor. I'm in the market for a 3rd Gen RX-7 tho!

Well Actually I would suspect the Volks to be originals as Volk is very popular with the JGTC where Ray's is only an entry level wheel.

GREAT NEWS!

I was doing research online for my Gentlemans agreement report ( I have a phone interviews with marketing directors from HKS, Veilside, JUN, TODA, Greddy, and 5zigen!) and I stumbled on thisat the japanese auto trends website:
http://www.japanauto.com/AutoTrends/detail.cfm?id=236

According to the Fourin Monthly Report, which covers Japan's domestic car market, manufacturers sold 99,567 sports cars in 2002, an increase of 21.2 percent from the previous year.....

now here is the important part!

Looking to the future, Nissan has indicated that it would put its Skyline GT sports car back on the market.

now they have released the "skyline" but the article specifically says "sports car"....while the skyline/G35 is luxury....could this be the GTR?

It could be dude. I surely hope they don't bastardize it though. Lets hope they keep with trends of the past and make a more evil car than the R34.

speaking of bastardizing.....why do they want to scrap the straight 6? something to do with emissions? how would a straight 6 polute any more than a V6 or V8 or even a V12 and those pass emissions...

I think the reason they would keep the V6 is becasue all they would have to do is modify the VQ engine and not have to start from scratch....I say they hire us as design consultants...I'll even do it for free! Hell I'll pay them....

prices for the R32 have begun to rise here in New Zealand for the entire range while the R33 is still falling slowly. So in saying that my car is becoming more valuale every month :)

Hmmm, interesting.

I can't help but notice skylines now, everytime I'm staring out a window in the car or at work and I see a skyline I can't help but look at it 'Is it a GTR? No it's a GTS4, those are nice looking mags, I wouldn't mind one.'

I think I'm converting. :nervous:

 You can't resist. Join the dark side!...:odd:or would it be the other side since skywalker and skyline both start the same way?

Do you know the 4.8L I6 in the Nissan Patrol?
Im not sure if it is an appropriate motor for a sports car, but could Nissan stick that in the next GTR?
NZ Autocar said something like "could this be the best six out of Japan?" for it, and being in the Patrol, no doubt it would be tough ****

I think thats not really built for speed...I'm not sure how well that motor can handle high RPM's or a turbo...It would be kinda like the KA motor here in the us....everyone would laugh.

If they would use another straight 6 then why not just redo the RB series?

Well our government has just announced they will begin emissions testing as standard warrent of fitness addons to be implimented 2006. bugger as I had the 3 inch high flow NISMO cat removed last year because it was plugged, well not remove but gutted. Glad I've not pulled the other emissions stuff off the car yet. Even so a new cat like that is over $1,000 here.
