Lol, the Planet exploration video won't load, probably too much server traffic. The opening intro video was great, can't wait to see more.

Just updated. Both videos have been taken down.
Sean has stated he has been watching for leaked content.

Well that lasted longer than twitch anyway.

From the 2nd video I managed to watch before it was taken down (26:11) it seems like there is some small quest lines and trophies. It is as big as it sounds. 2 minutes to go from ship to something and another 2 or so minutes just to get back. Can run out of sprint and jetpack but both recharge.

From what little I saw, the gameplay looks stellar, I love the survival aspect too. I still think this will be a divisive game, those that like it, will absolutely love it and the dissenters will probably trash it as boring, without substance. Can't wait until the 9th, this is going to be great!

Next week is going to take Forever! Am I right?

I don't have a PS4 lol, it will take even longer for me, now I'm seriously considering going PC. But until then post lots of videos for all us havenots :)

Lol, this is what Sean Murray did to all of the early leakers

Wish it was a week from Monday right now.
I so wish I could get the game like right now and to have the Limited Edition one too (Which I am hoping to get an unreserved copy)

I missed the videos. Do you have to eat and drink?

google drive link says traffic has been exceeded and to wait 24 hours

here's a youtube mirror of the large gameplay video. Will probably be taken down shortly so watch it while you still can

very satisfied with the game based of that video.

seems to be everything I was hoping it would be. a space exploration game with a minecraft feel

I have the original clips here

More screenshots have surfaced apparently containing spoilers, I think I'll avoid any leaks from now on, just over a week to go!

I highly doubt you will see the same planets, animals, NPCS and situations when you play.

Of the two leaks, one guy started on an ice planet, and the other on a volcano type hot planet

screens from German Mag - I don't see anything spolier here or anything you haven't seen, just variants

a couple thoughts so far after seeing all the leaked information..

I find it interesting that the devs decided to basically start the user right in the thick of things (i.e. crashed ship, harsh enviroment, etc). there are no intro or tutorials like you would see with most games. I can see this being a huge turn off for casual gamers

It definitely has a minecraft feel to it with the repetition of mining and crafting of resources.

as another poster earlier mentioned, people are either go to love the game or despise it.

Yes there will be a lot of busy work at the start, but like most of these "survival games" once you get upgraded, it will be pretty smooth sailing for a while, until you hit a planet that does extreme temperatures, or toxity.

and if you stay in space only and play it like Elite, then it's not much of a factor.

---

The dev is a fan of Dark Souls, so it gives you an idea....he feels if games are too easy it loses meaning :)
And he feels the reward is greater when you had to scrap hard to get to a goal

edit - the nuked video, I linked above, there is some steep cliffy terrain on that desert like planet he landed on.
Very nice

edit 3-
some recorded a stream from twitch, more space stuff

  • Trading interface at a space station
  • Speaking with a Korvax in the station
  • Milestone: Enable Galactic Travel
  • Leaving the station and using the galactic map
  • FTL jump to another solar system
  • Landing on a planet
  • Flying around for a landing spot and landing
  • Having a look around the planet (seeing the same coiled up hostile plant but a slightly different variant)
  • Taking off from the planet back into space

The harsh enviroment is probably random.
Since they did say each player will be starting on a different planet. So one might be harsh other one might be perfect where you don't want to leave.

The tutorial is what you seen right away. With the quests (Since after that they probably won't have any)

I wouldn't call it minecraft like feel either.
Can't really expect your ship and laser to have infinite power now can we, or it will be just too easy.

it certainly has a minecraft feel to the mining and crafting aspects, which are crucial to surviving and advancing in the game, just like in minecraft's survival mode.

Personally I'm glad the game is going to be somewhat of a challenge. I'm just not sure how much the casual gamer is going to like it that just wants to go around exploring planets and not worry about anything else

Mundane Matt is in jeopardy of losing his channel now for talking about the leak three times. The two times previous to this video below were taken down by SIEA (sony) in a manual DMCA takedown and all he did was talk about the leak.

That's a tad harsh if he didn't show any footage from the leak and just talked about it.

Well this is quite well sucky.
The guy that leaked the videos, the one that paid like 1200$ for.
Already reached the center, due to finding that the "stones" are worth more than ever and free fuel.
Then the blasters are broken where the "upgrades" are downgrades.
Then finding ship upgrades are close to impossible.
He also said he has like 40 hard game crashes during the time, (So save often)

With all that I am hoping that some of it gets fixed right away or the whole game will be done in a few days for most.

Whoooo

Looks like Walmart is selling copies off the shelves too! Cheeky.

and new stream.... was taken from a 2hour Twitch stream
Apparently he bought it from Walmart

33 min one

1:18 hour one

Too bad that they appear to have changed their initial design.
It was said that appoximately 10% of the planets contain life, and from those, 10% would be life rich, complex worlds.
From the leaked videos it appears that life is present on nearly every planet, though lush garden planets would still be rare (luckily). I was hoping that they would keep the original design because it would make finding a planet sustaining life a lot more special. Also it would reduce the chance of finding animals that look very similar to a species you already found before.

Another thing I'm missing are the atmospheric compositions as found in the earlier gameplay trailers.

I just hope that it's not as easy as what one person said.
If I can still get a Limited Edition copy then I will at lease keep my blaster all the way through.
Rest not so much.

Some people just want to finish a game rather than actually playing it as it's meant to be played (take the person who 'played' PCars at minimum race distances and 0% difficulty, for example) I'm sure I'll get a stupid amount of hours of enjoyment out of No Man's Sky if it's anywhere near as good as expected.

Not to compare this game to Minecraft (which easily can be beaten in a day or two), but finding The End and beating the Ender Dragon was fun but definitlely felt tacked on. The bulk of the gameplay experience is found in the creations you make and exploring/mining. My thought is that NMS will be similar in that regard, maybe finding the Center of the Universe is just sort of a tacked on thing when the bulk of the game will be just exploring endless planets.

Nice 2+ hour stream

The original leaker who bought it for $1250USD is streaming now on Twitch, and still hasn't been nuked :)
